OnPlan is totally customizable for every department, expense category and balance sheet category. Multiple scenarios can be created with different data to compare results. As the periods are completed, actual results can be entered and the model updates in real-time. Time factors for revenue recognition, cash collections and AP payments are editable. Prepaid exoenses track both cash outlays and expense recognition. Multiple ways to model expenses. For example: actual amounts per period, amount per employee, last year's actual average + x%, trailing 6-month average + x%, etc. Implementation and Support services are excellent. Resources are overseas but seldom need to wait more than a day for a response. Resources are top-level - there has never been a need to escalate a case to a more experienced resource. There has seldom been an extra charge for building something new or customizing something after implementation. When there was a charge, it was extremely reasonable. OnPlan is the 2nd product we tried to implement. We moved from Centage, which was too hard to learn and navigate. With OnPlan, I love that we can continue to have our model work interchangeably with GSheets. The spreadsheet formulas give us the flexibility we need and OnPlan provides the guardrails, data management, reporting, scenarios and integrations. They made a large (and impressive) product enhancement last year and the team was quick and attentive to make sure I was fully benefiting from the update. What do you dislike about OnPlan? We're still running on QuickBooks Desktop, so we don't have an automatic integration, which would be nice. What problems is OnPlan solving and how is that benefiting you? As a growing company, with constant changes, OnPlan gives us the central location for everything to be managed. We're frequently modeling out new scenarios for new potential product and service offerings. Before OnPlan, it was a multi-day process just to make the updates to the model and ensure we didn't break anything. OnPlan is a very powerful piece of software that has greatly changed the way we do our work. As software for budgeting and making plans, it has given us a dashboard that we can change to fit our jobs and preferences. When compared to Excel spreadsheets, one of the best things about OnPlan is that it makes planning and forecasting faster. This is done by giving important stakeholders direct access to each other, which streamlines the whole process. Also, OnPlan protects private information with granular roles and permissions, which makes sure that data is safe. With automatic data updates, it's easy to keep track of information, which saves us time and effort. With OnPlan, it's also easy to change KPIs and make dashboards.
