"My favourite writing software!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is fairly user-friendly. If you have never used a computer type software to write an essay or something, this is the program that you want. It is easily downloadable and free and it will help with your spelling and proofreading. All of the function buttons are easily laid out at the top of the screen, and you don’t have to go looking for them, which is a waste of time if you do, but Microsoft Word does not make you do that. I can go on and on forever, but this is absolutely my favourite software For writing and probably one of my top 10 favourites in my life. I would highly recommend that if you do not have it that you acquire it. It is user-friendly and will not take you long to learn it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

This program requires or heavily encourages someone to have a Microsoft Outlook account, depending on whether it’s online use or off-line use. Sometimes people don’t need another email or need another account and that is Annoying. It is also expensive when purchased with the Microsoft outlook suite and unless you are in school and are provided with it for free, this is a major downside. Unlike Google Docs, Microsoft Word does not automatically save after every key stroke so if you do not save your document regularly, you can lose everything. "Great Features and Compatibility, But Pricey for Light Users"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

This is a fantastic program that offers nearly everything you could want. I also appreciate that the document formats it uses have become standard, making it easy to open them in any other text editor I’ve tried. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

To be honest, the price is the most important factor for me. I don’t actually need all the features that this program provides—I use a text editor daily, but only use spreadsheets from time to time. Since I have several laptops, including a very small and inexpensive one for travel, I was looking for a lightweight program for it, ideally something free. Because of this, I ended up having to give up MS Word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An Indispensable Tool for Daily Productivity"
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

I've been a daily user of Microsoft Word for years, and it continues to be an essential part of my workflow. Its user-friendly interface and robust features make it my go-to for everything from drafting simple documents to creating complex reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

My biggest frustration with Word is the financial commitment required to use the full desktop version. While there are free, web-based versions available, the most powerful and feature-rich experience comes with a paid Microsoft 365 subscription. The fact that you have to pay a recurring annual fee for a suite of software that was once available as a one-time purchase can be a significant turn-off, especially for individual users who only need a few of the applications. It feels like you're being held hostage by a subscription model to access the full functionality of what has become the industry standard for document creation. "The Gold Standard for Document Creation and Editing"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is one of the most versatile and user-friendly word processing tools available. I like how it combines simplicity for basic writing with powerful features for advanced formatting, collaboration, and professional document creation. The wide selection of templates, styles, and formatting options makes it easy to produce polished reports, resumes, or letters. Integration with OneDrive and Microsoft 365 allows seamless cloud saving and real-time collaboration with colleagues. It’s reliable, widely compatible, and a tool I can always count on for both personal and professional needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

While highly capable, Microsoft Word can sometimes feel overwhelming for new users because of the large number of features hidden in different menus. The software can also be resource-intensive, especially when working with very large documents that include images or tables. Occasional formatting issues arise when sharing documents between different versions or devices. Additionally, the subscription cost for Microsoft 365 may not feel justified for users who only need Word’s basic features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The most versatile tool for documents - essential for students and professionals"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Best document processor available currently. It is reliable and versatile. I like its interface, formatting options, and seamless integration with other Microsoft Office tools like Excel and Outlook. Features like “Track Changes” and “Comments” make collaboration smooth, especially in corporate-like professional and academic settings. Cloud integration via OneDrive ensures that it can be drafted on any device and continued editing on another device. It’s also highly customizable with templates for cover pages, reports, etc., which saves a lot of time. Its feature of the automatic Table of Contents is also great. I have used it in my job in EY and currently use it for drafting replies for GST and Income Tax. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

At times, Word feels heavy and takes time to load, especially on older systems. Some advanced formatting (like large tables or images) can get misaligned when shared with others. The subscription-based model (Microsoft 365) is expensive for freelancers like me or students compared to free alternatives like Google Docs. Also, occasional crashes when handling very large files can be frustrating. It does not have the Indian Rupee Symbol, not even in the 2021 Professional version that I use.

It can have features like correcting capitalisation of letters in a word or sentence in a more smarter way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Writing Classic"
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word has been the number one writing tool in my academic and professional career. I have always loved the look and feel of Microsoft Word. Other writing tools have tried to imitate but have never duplicated the classic reliability of Microsoft Word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

I dislike the paywall that Microsoft Word has. I also dislike how it doesn't constantly update correctly and requires an uninstall and reinstall to function, especially on multiple devices. Microsoft Word add-ons such as Grammarly often fail to function correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft Word - The best document typing tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is a really great tool for typing and editing documents.

I love that it has different templates for whatever type of document you need to type - letters, resumes, flyers amongst others.

Useful features such as numerous font types and sizes, colour formats, spelling check, grammar check and others help to make my documents far better than ordinary.

It's also really awesome that many of these great features come for free and one might never need to pay for upgrades.

It's very easy to navigate through. Even a beginner user won't find it difficult using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is not the perfect tool for editing documents that are not in the '.docx' document format such as PDFs. It may disorganize the layouts of this documents.

Also, accessing some cooler templates and features (to make your documents better) require paid upgrades which is quite expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
