The software creates custom reports by selecting report type, date range, and details. It includes Report Tool with over 900 reports and free custom reports Loan, return, renew, reserve, and booking I'm able to view patron and item status It can also display patron and item pictures Process fines and issue refunds in away that looks like you are using an accounting software The software also sends e-mail notifications for fines and overdue and this is the best part of communication that I always love Mandarin for It can conduct full or partial inventory Print reports or save for later use Mandarin offers self-service portals for checking in and checking out library materials to allow librarians and their staff to focus on other things. While this is the case, librarians can rest assured that patrons are only able to borrow books within the allowed limit with the item and history status tracking. **What do you dislike about Mandarin Library Automation?** The user interface is outdated and can be complicated at first. the software sometimes corrupt barcodes **Recommendations to others considering Mandarin Library Automation:** perfect for big libraries **What problems is Mandarin Library Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?** Inventory of books has been made easy with the inventory tool that can produce an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the collection. ### 2. Mandarin also can be challenging to work with if you are offline since it cannot provide data on patrons. Sometimes the software tends to freeze on its own with errors. **Recommendations to others considering Mandarin Library Automation:** Mandarin is an all-in-one type of software whereby it can be beneficial if you manage transactions of a big institution and the tools in it are helpful. **What problems is Mandarin Library Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?** Every end of term, I carry out inventory, and Mandarin is beneficial in making it happen, and I tend to save a lot of time in my work. I'm required to hand in weekly reports, and Mandarin helps me develop the data on weekly attendance by patrons. I also carry out the process of weeding in my library, and due to the presence of Mandarin, I'm able to see which type of books have a little activity on them, and then I remove those from the shelves. ### 3. I would also like a feature where you could pull up a book title and get information on who signed it out last. **Recommendations to others considering Mandarin Library Automation:** I recommend users to sign up for the free demo provided by MLA. **What problems is Mandarin Library Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?** Now it is easy to keep a track of our more than 30,000 books! ### 4. Using Mandarin. Unlike our previous software running reports can be done with a few clicks. I also like how patrons can log into the site and use self check out. **What do you dislike about Mandarin Library Automation?** I dislike that all items are not automatically uploaded with a matching picture. For the ones that do not, you must google them and upload to specific items. **Recommendations to others considering Mandarin Library Automation:** You should give Mandarin a try if you want an update to date product. **What problems is Mandarin Library Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mandarin makes business run smoothly with up to date information.
