Kounta is thoughtfully designed which is why we can use this tool online or offline both. This is also very easy to set and get started. **What do you dislike about Kounta?** The app gets hangs sometimes and take a bit of time to get conscious. There should be some shortcuts for daily used tasks also a forex currency conversion option should be included. **What problems is Kounta solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is very easy to connect with the accounting I am using right now. That's about all that's good about it. A few of the support articles are useful when they match your needs exactly. **What do you dislike about Kounta?** This software acts like it can do everything but in reality is highly restrictive and cannot do many basic tasks that other POS solutions have done for years. - you cannot duplicate menu items, you have to manually add each one. - the import functions are limited to simple menu items, modifiers or anything else cannot be imported or exported - all your menu items and categories always show on the POS, you cannot hide them or create multiple views. - you cannot create a menu in advance, all changes are applied immediately. Want to prepare for a menu change? You cannot! - you cannot differentiate products between dine in and take out, always the same product, same price, etx - staff are able to apply 100% discounts to everything or nothing, there is no finer control - cannot customise the receipt or kitchen docket except for a couple of basic settings - cannot change an order from dine in to take away - cannot change the assigned table during the order process - cannot assign a floor map to a terminal, all terminals will show the same map all the time (so if you're using it in a larger space you have to always tap around the venue) - cannot ask or require customer name of take away orders, relies on a note field - cannot use product ingredients for a modifier, you have to create modifier lists for each product - modifiers do not honour stock levels, you can sell something you don't have - shortcut modifiers don't abide by rules, you can apply both a "weak" and a "strong" to your coffee order - so, so much more. This software is incapable of anything except the most basic of requirements and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. **Recommendations to others considering Kounta:** Use something else instead. **What problems is Kounta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kounta creates lore problems than it solves. Unless you want to match the exact use case they support you will need to work around numerous issues on a daily basis. ### 5. We use it along with TYRO and find that they both work really well together whilst keeping the process to a minimum. **What do you dislike about Kounta?** The app interface does lag at times and does take about 10 seconds to send a signal to the cash register. I also wish that there could be a dark mode so that all the images,tiles and menus standout in such a bright environment. **Recommendations to others considering Kounta:** Ask for a trial and see how you can implement it in your workplace. It is an amazing piece of software that requires little improvement required. if you have previously used or considered using any other software, look into kounta, its affordable and easy to adjust too. **What problems is Kounta solving and how is that benefiting you?** I believe that it is solving the most common problem of having to many programs fro the same job. I also believe that it stops the requirement of having to calculate discounts because it has that function built in. ### 6. While it's missing some of the features we looked for, particularly in order management, this solution ranks well in our review of restaurant POS systems. Allows me to add/remove staff pretty easily. **What do you dislike about Kounta?** Australian software that doesn't recognize that Canadian currency no longer uses the penny. While Kounta doesn't alert you when your inventory is low, it does track your supplies at the ingredient level. When you receive supplies, you can enter them into the system with a handheld barcode scanner, which many restaurant employees find convenient and timesaving. **Recommendations to others considering Kounta:** If you require any remote or on-site assistance, you’ll be referred to a Kounta partner instead of working directly with a Kounta representative, which is an inconvenience. These third-party services may charge extra for their technical support, so keep that in mind if you have a tight budget. APIs are available for custom integrations, but only with Extend, the highest-tier program. **What problems is Kounta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Perfect accounting of whats selling. Trends and such. Kounta offers many of the features we looked for in restaurant POS software, and it's suitable for use by both full- and counter-service restaurants. It's missing some features, like reservation and delivery management, but if your restaurant doesn’t accept reservations or make deliveries, this shouldn’t deter you.
