Kahua is a great project management information system or PMIS for owner/operators to be able to manage projects more effectively and deliver projects more efficiently. What we like best about Kahua is the scalability, flexibility, and adaptability of the system to be configured or (developed using K builder) to serve a variety of client needs. The founders, Brian and Scott, were very familiar with project management systems and developed Kahua to address many of the shortcomings of other solutions in the market. The combination of a very effective platform with a very enthusiastic and hard-working workforce make Kahua a leading choice for our clients searching for technology and people to partner partner with on their project management journey. While there are not many downsides to Kahua, we would appreciate Kahua opening itself to the possibility of integrations and coexistence with other products that could be perceived as competitors. We have found in our clients the need to use different systems for specific capabilities and want to connect Kahua to these legacy systems for a more seamless user experience. This is not to say that Kahua will share the same space with these systems forever, but before a client is ready for apprationalization, they will need (for a time) to use Kahua and its competitor side-by-side and talking to each each other. The interface is user friendly and intuitive that makes it easy for both seasoned professionals and new users to navigate the platform. Since it is cloud-based, Kahua allows users to access project information from anywhere, which is particularly useful for teams working across multiple locations.

The dashboards are well-organized, allowing us to have quick access to critical project information. There are also detailed reports and analytics, which are invaluable for tracking project progress, identifying bottlenecks, and making data-driven decisions.

One of Kahua’s standout features is its ability to adapt to unique project needs. The customizable workflows and forms ensure that teams can tailor the software to their specific processes. Also, the platform excels in fostering collaboration among stakeholders. Features like document sharing, real-time updates, and communication tools help keep everyone on the same page. While the interface is user-friendly, some advanced features may require training or time to master, especially for users unfamiliar with construction management software. I like Kahua's ability to customize logs and reports easily, which helps me manage tasks more effectively. I also appreciate seeing all submissions within the submittal app clearly. The file manager app is quite useful with its ability to set automatic folder alerts, helping me track any activity within a defined folder. Sometimes in the Submittals app, I have accidental duplicate input data. It would be very useful if Kahua could somehow give a warning that a similar record already exists beforehand. I really like how Kahua has significantly improved our project management processes by solving crucial issues we faced with multiple PSCs on the same project. Previously, we had to create separate projects to accommodate extra PSCs, but Kahua allows us to manage multiple PSCs within a single project effectively. This feature eliminates the cumbersome workaround we had to use before. Kahua also reduces our workload by streamlining processes, such as avoiding double entry in both project management and financial management systems. Its ability to accommodate different project types and workflows is incredibly beneficial for our operations, particularly because we manage more than four common project types seamlessly. Kahua's flexibility in accommodating our various project workflows is impressive. A specific feature that stands out is the e-sign functionality, which streamlines the signature process for change orders and eliminates the time-consuming task of back-and-forth emailing for signatures. This has notably enhanced our efficiency. The introduction of AI capabilities that facilitate quick, easy app creation and customization is also something I highly value. I would make Kahua more intuitive. I find the workflows could be improved, especially where there are review and approval workflows.
