"Great veterinary management, but a bit clunky"

What do you like best?

The practice I work at has been using infinity for a few years now and I was new to the veterinary field as a whole, but not appointments. Being able to have multiple colors to code out appointments and multiple doctors is really helpful - it means when something pops up hot pink in our schedule, we know we have an emergency. Having a group chat available to message between work stations and both of our clinics makes it easier to get necessary vaccines or medications transported between clinics for clients, supplies, or fixing billing or notation mistakes. Being able to attach files from IDEXX VetConnect and client records directly to each patient is also invaluable - we can look at past bloodwork history for an animal who has been seen at multiple clinics!

Our clinic utilizes the estimates & canned estimates quite regularly, so we can go into an appointment with a treatment plan for our clients that show costs and what their appointment looks like for the day. Canned estimates allow our doctors to create surgical plans quickly by importing a basic estimate we previously put together and adjusting surgical time & supplies needed, saving time in the appointment or even making every minute count in an emergency when the animal needs acute care for stabilization.

What do you dislike?

Overall, there are still quirks with this - it will reload patient history randomly while scrolling, sometimes taking forever to load even though the list is sparse and only going back a year. Forms to attach to a client, such as a surgical log, take forever and a day to load, and others an hour to populate and another half hour to print. There is no way to create a lock on initial creation of prescriptions for controlled drugs that have to be filled by a doctor of licensed tech. You cannot change the name of an estimate after you create it, which seems a bit weird.

Managing users when adjusting user groups is weird, and sometimes allowances or locked options are accessible by new users by default.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Definitely use the trial to get a feel for it's capabilities and see if another practice will let you look at it in action - that's the only way you'll be able to tell if it's right for your practice. It does take some 'oomph' to keep it going, so either having an on-site network or an externally managed network will be required, and the best way to make the most of this is by having work stations in your exam rooms to note, estimate, and create/fill prescriptions all at once.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Record management is a huge plus, so that on-site storage for patient records is at a bare minimum. Being compliant with state and nation-wide standards is easier because everything is tracked - sales, prescriptions, the ability to take notes for phone calls and appointments. Having those records means questions get answered like, "when was the last time I picked up ___ medication?" or "____ claims you ran bloodwork and said it doesn't need to be done again, but that's not what the notes say."

"easy to use... and not "

What do you like best?

I like how there are multiple ways to get to what you need to do. In a basic sense, it is easy to use.

What do you dislike?

I don't like the lack of an organized problem list for the patient. I don't like how difficult it is to modify templates. Modification of templates is NOT very user friendly. It is also difficult to assess for current medications, esp if written scripts are used.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The diagnostic terms list, which can be used as a problem list, must be added separately and thus doctor compliance in completing it is low. It is also lacking many specific diagnoses. Example: marijuana toxicity and chocolate toxicity are not in the list. You must only put toxicity.

Impromed provides a thorough SOAP format for medical records.

"Very Effective Software"

What do you like best?

THIS PROGRAM IS VERY EASY TO USE. ALL OUR EMPLOYEES PICK IT UP EASILY. VERY FEW STEPS INVOLVED GOING FROM ONE TASK TO ANOTHER

What do you dislike?

A little on the expensive side. I GUESS U GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. SEVERAL OTHER PROGRAMS IN THIS MARKET ARE CONSIDERABLY LESS

"ACA's experience with ImproMed "

What do you like best?

It easy to learn, and easy to use. The user face is simple and provides the necessary tools to succeed as a veterinary practice.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it glitches out and will revert back to the previous client. In addition, I find that sometimes it is on the slower side (but that may be a computer problem and not a program issue)

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Customer service efficiency. It has many traits that make it easier to help the customer (e.g. via making it easier to email clients, cash out customers, or sort through medical files).

"Impromed Infinity"

What do you like best?

I love the modules and the individual desktop options. This allows you to see it up to cater to your work or eye habits. Very customizable.

What do you dislike?

That the modules for the desktop don't always go back the way you saved them to be. And also, there is a lag between stations when you log in.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Stabilization of the infrastructure so that you don't have to continue resetting 6 modules.

Huge work flow and laboratory requests. Easy to capture charges and transfer items to invoicing etc. Really curves the difficulty of dealing with multiple patients in multiple parts of the hospital.

"Hit or miss"

What do you like best?

Many aspects are user friendly, they have years of experience in the industry.

What do you dislike?

I wish the Time Management module allowed individual employees to see their own hours worked without having to be granted access to the entire staffs hourly reports.

Utilize the help from technical support. The program can probably do much more than you realize.

"New impromed user "

What do you like best?

The simplicity of the design layout. It’s similar to windows X and the Mac OS layout. The icons are color coded and the platform is user friendly

What do you dislike?

Pop up notes can’t be disabled, the lab requests don’t automatically print out. It freezes if too many computers have the program open.

We can easily enter charges to the invoice so the doctors are free to continue with appointments

What do you like best?

Reports, customizable features (discharges, invoices, reports, etc), ease of use, ability to have multiple open modules running

"Good program but could be more user friendly"

What do you like best?

I like that everything needed is accessible. It's very quick once you get used to it.

What do you dislike?

It's got a tough learning curve. Also having to make sure the patient is active can be difficult because if not, all the work you did is wasted as there's no way to copy all of the charges into another account

"Veterinary Solution "

What do you like best?

From IT perspective this software is easy to setup, network and manage. The tech support for this product is excellent.

What do you dislike?

Setting up the specialized printers (label) may require a call to tech support.

"Impromed Software - Gets the job done, minimal frills"

What do you like best?

I like how user friendly this software is. The pages and sections are intuitively places and easily navigated through.

What do you dislike?

There are some simple glitches that arise now and then, all easily fixed with a quick reboot though!

Handling a large amount of documentation which is shared among all employees has been great with this software. It makes shared editing simple and easy.

I LOVE how easily and deeply ImproMed Infinity could be customized to the practice's specific needs.

Our trainer was a little lackluster in patience, understanding, and translation of skills, but the product itself speaks for itself.

It is very beneficial to have inventory included in the software. Appointment color coding is also helpful

"Easy system"

What do you like best?

Very user friendly. Even after months away from the system, it is easy to jump back into using.

Nothing so far that I do not like, though I do not often work with the billing sections.

I love that there are several different ways to navigate the program

What do you like best?

The amount of customization available to customers. I can change most basic forms and the way the database is set up.

VERY glitch, support is poor and costly, updates are few and often cause complete crashing.
