"Beyond just meshing advantages"

What do you like best?

With all the stress - strain calculations automated and its easy to obtained once meshing is done properly. It is a cost cutting tool as it greatly reduces manual labor put into calculations.

What do you dislike?

There are certain limitations in Hyperworks. It doesn't have some important pro-processing solvers that have to be used in conjunction. Compatibility issues prevail and have to be sorted.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have used Hyperworks on Stress Analysis on mounting brackets and determined buckling loads. I found out that it didn't meet the requirements. So I had to strengthen it by increasing thickness.

"Best element level control"

What do you like best?

Reduces time and engineering analysis setup cost through high-performance finite element modeling (Preprocessing). Best element level control compared to Ansys & APDL. Its user interface is very easy to understand and It can support various kinds of extensions files and also it can solve any kind of model with ease.

What do you dislike?

Dependency on other models before post processing and plotting results also the interface can be improved to be more intuitive. Mesh controls are not stored and geometric handling features can be improved.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Awesome tool for a variety of analysis and tasks. Multiple online support forums to solve for temporary issues we face.

"Boiler vessel design in an elemental view"

What do you like best?

It is simple to input the desired conditions. As a matter of fact, in my past organizations I have utilized manual computations for examination of vessels and funneling structures yet after Hyperworks came into picture it was way simpler.

What do you dislike?

What do you like best?

Meshing is exact and choices are huge. So I work the part and run post preparing.

What do you dislike?

"Hyperworks for meshing in FEA"

What do you like best?

I like the meshing options available if you would like to to carry out an analysis in FEA. The whole idea of evaluating meshing independently of the mathematical solvers is justified with results from Hyperworks.

What do you dislike?

Mesh controls in the hyperworks application can't be saved. This is a huge deal because more often than not.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am performing finite element analysis on a CFD model for the flow analysis in a transient flow of the air over the heat sink in the heat dissipation system.

"Perfect for analysis in Oil & Gas Industry"

What do you like best?

In my early days of engineering i had to do all the calculations manually. But with hyperworks and its commands all I have to do is only a few clicks away. So it greatly reduced manual work.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I dislike about hyperworks is it cant solve all kinds of meshed networks, so we have to depend on other platforms for specific tasks.

I have used hyperworks in thermal and static analysis in industrial equipment.

"Awesome Analysis software"

What do you like best?

This has been the best analysis software I have ever used. I used this software for thermal analysis m=by meshing the 3 D models.

What do you dislike?

Some features like mesh retainment still misiing. The UI still needs dome work. Waiting for the nest release.

Evaluate the products trial version first then choose.

What do you like best?

I think of it as a cost-cutting tool as it greatly helps to reduces manual labor with all the calculations. It would be great if many people start using it.

2. One can use hypermesh to mesh for different solvers like Ansys, Abaqus etc.

There are certain limitations in hyperworks.

Optistruct profile is the legend for meshing

"Analysis made easy for pressure vessels"

What do you like best?

Actually In my previous companies right over in 90’s . I have used manual calculations for stress analysis of pressure vessels and piping structures but after hyperworks came into picture the interface and also the commands made my work lot easier for thermal analysis of pressure vessels

What do you dislike?

Actually only disadvantage of hyperworks is it cant solve all kind of decks so we have to depend on other softwares for solving purporse

What do you like best?

Interface of this tool is very easy and we can give any kind of load conditions and give contacts and also we can do solving of the model for specific type of components

What do you dislike?

Its not that easy to solve the model which has large number of nodes so we have to depend on other kind of solver for post processing

Many capabilities to customize meshing of objects

User interface is not friendly and easy to use for new users.

We use HyperWorks mostly to generate mesh file that could be able to import to other solvers like LS-DYNA or ANSYS for calculation. Having a nice mesh allows us to achieve better finite element analysis calculation, especially at nanometer scale.

What do you like best?

It has a lot of optuons to alter the mesh, manipulate surfaces and file compatibility is good

It has a lot of bugs and crashes at some instances. Especially while giving analysis run

Best part of this tool is we can easily mesh any kind of component by importing CAD data any format. We can give material and properties which are custom made

What do you like best?

Best part of hyperworks is its user interface is very easy to handle and we can preprocess any model for any loading conditions

"Very heavy tool that trips over itself"

What do you like best?

Very capable tool that can model very well and created great simulations to use for static and dynamic design

The need to have a super duper computer to get this thing to not stutter every time you move something around. Very very steep learning curve to use

"Perfect analysis software for Auto Industry"

What do you like best?

I have using hyper works only for a while but I can say they are far ahead in the industry and deliver very good results and a reasonable price.

The interface is getting better but still requires some work.

I use Hypermesh for analysis. Once 3D model is done, it processed in the post production in the meshing software.

very good for geometry cleanup and 2D mesh. very easy to be customized
