**Reviewed by:** Vimal G. | AE Intern, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

I am by profession a product designer who uses various CAD modelling and simulation software to get the freelance work assigned to me by my clients.
On one occasion I got the opportunity to use Ansys Fluent to carry out a CFD simulation work for my client. That was the first time I got to explore the features and capabilities of Ansys Fluent. My mind was blown off once I started to explore the capabilities of the software and it helped me to carry out CFD simulation on a newly designed single-seater vehicle. The vehicle body simulation helped me to extract very important aerodynamic-related performance parameters like Pressure contour, velocity streamline, velocity contour, coefficient of lift, coefficient of drag etc. as a result of flow along the surface of the designed vehicle.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

The complexity involved in understanding the user interface and using the software for flow analysis as a first-time user was huge. I had to do a lot of research and learning to understand how the software works and how the correct parameters had to be provided as input to conduct the simulation process and extract the expected results.
The large system requirements in terms of performance numbers to run complex simulation works are also quite hectic and time-consuming. This is the only aspect which does not encourage me a lot to use this software to do more complex works.

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ansys fluent helps to reduce prototyping costs and real-life testing costs to a great extent. For example in the case of the newly designed single-seater vehicle flow simulation work that I had done for my client, they were able to virtually develop and test multiple design versions of the vehicle till they had attained the expected aerodynamic flow-related performance data even before the first real scale prototype was developed and tested.
In that case ansys fluent is a very productive software with a vast amount of benefits depending on the kind of works carried out in the software.

  ### 40. Ansys Fluent form the perspective of a student

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

I love the different ways I can customize my mesh, as there are multiple options to fit various applications. The visuals that are presented upon completing any simulation are always a bonus, and out of all the CFD software that I have been able to use, nothing beats those of Ansys Fluent. One tiny detail I like is the live convergence lines that update with every iteration of the simulation, showing the user when the simulation has converged onto a final answer, allowing them to stop the simulation to save time and computing power should they wish to do so.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

One major flaw, for me, is that you have to individually close and save individual modules once you are done with them, and they do not update unless you tell them to do so. For example, suppose I notice a small geometrical error and go back t change it. In that case, the mesh does not update automatically to accommodate such a change and outright refuses to generate, meaning that I have to redesign a new mesh, wasting a lot of time. Another flaw is the number of times the program has crashed while using it for more advanced simulations; I know this is due to my poor computing power. However, I feel like the developers should accommodate that as not everyone has the money to afford a "NASA Supercomputer."

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped solve the problem of not being able to see the various aerodynamic principles/effects. Being an aerospace student, the theory was difficult to visualize if it weren't for the simulations provided by ANSYS Fluent, such as the aerodynamic vortices induced by gurney flaps and how this would affect the lift of the aerofoil in question.

  ### 41. Amazing Visual experience of Simulation and optimization software.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

As it is a software need the high processing CPU because with low processing its took long time because as to get better result we need to diivide it in various mesh size as mesh size increase ansys fluent need to calculate the area wise calculation, for that its need a high processing software to get the results faster.

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved the problems in Minning sector the Methane gas available and how we can transfer the gas from deep mining area to outside by using differnt fans and blowers to save the lives of mining workers.as its a hazards area and oxygen deficient.
