Review Summary

I really like the user interface of Ansys Workbench; it's pretty straightforward and user-friendly. It has very advanced features for almost any structural analysis, as well as a very user-friendly learning curve. The software supports various files for importing CAD data, which is quite useful. I can set up my analysis within steps and easily imply boundary conditions on my body. I have the tools to calculate stresses, including principal stress, and analyze my results by seeing the contours of different stress profiles, which helps me a lot. I think it is very expensive for an individual person. At times, I felt some complex features needs learning, and sometimes it is quite difficult to understand certain tools. The initial setup was easy, you need to follow an installation guide. But setting up some on-demand integrations or additional add-ons requires certain knowledge. Ansys mechanical is an all in one FEA tool which is extremely powerful. The software is pretty easy to use once you get your head around the user interface and allows for extremely accurate finite element simulations for a range of systems. The ability to do thermal, structural and optimization in one area is extremely helpful and allows me to continue my daily design work with extreme efficiency. I use ansys almost every day and it continues to be a great tool in my design work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial implementation of the system can be very daunting as there are lots of complex parts to learn. The optimization tool is the most tricky to master as often the outcome is a rather messy blob if done incorrectly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really appreciate Ansys Mechanical for its great GUI and meshing capabilities. I like how its tree-like structure with a systematic step-by-step guide makes navigating the software easy. The automated meshing, along with sweep and hex-dominant meshing and feature-based meshing, minimizes user intervention while providing accurate results. Its solver is an industry standard, and now with Discovery and LS-DYNA, it offers fast and reliable solutions. The easy-to-use interface and guided workflows, along with being resourceful with tutorials, make it a preferred choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ansys's ACT for automation has less adoption in industries due to its limited functionality and APIs. Sometimes, the solver throws errors that cannot be debugged easily, mostly due to Rigid Body motion, Contacts, or non-linear convergence failure. Large and complex geometries with bad geometries or surfaces become a challenge for meshing due to limited options for cleanup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about ANSYS Mechanical is the level of control it gives the user over the model. It makes solving convergence issues easier, even when dealing with all three types of non-linearities—material, geometric, and contact. Multiphysics simulations are also straightforward to perform. With the help of ANSYS ACT, I’m able to customize the workflow to fit specific needs. Additionally, ANSYS offers excellent customer support and comprehensive technical documentation, which adds great value to the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To accurately visualize the deformation of the structure during a prestressed mode superposition harmonic analysis, we currently need to use ANSYS APDL. It would be highly beneficial if this capability were also available directly within ANSYS Workbench. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like the interface of Ansys Mechanical; it's easy to use. I also appreciate its problem-solving technique, which works well for me. Additionally, cleaning up geometry is very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like that the speed should be improved, and the Ctrl-Z option is not available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Best and easy to use for all kind of mechanical simulations accurately Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Interpolation functions are not so easy little automations needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ANSYS Mechanical is a user-friendly interface when compared to the other CAE tools. It has Pre-Processing, Solving and Post Processing all in One. That's really a big advantage to make ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I cannot control the mesh much in ANSYS Mechanical in detail when compared to the other CAE-Pre Processing Tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A real time problem is solved using the simulation tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Meshing is a part of Ansys and it must be more effective Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use it on a Daily basis for our structure simulations. Its very easy to setup a loading condition and get results. The workflow is very smooth. In built-CAD integration through space claim makes it easy to make design changes and re-run.
Customer support is quick and minor problems are solved within a day only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simple feature of making your modal animation looping on endlessly in gif format is missing for so many years. It makes using the gif in presentations difficult to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
