What is Hootsuite, and what problem is it built to solve?

Hootsuite is social media management software for brands and organizations that need to build and maintain relationships with audiences across social networks and one-to-one messaging channels. Its focus includes social insights, employee advocacy, social selling, and social customer care.

What languages does Hootsuite support?

Hootsuite supports 7 languages: Arabic, English, French, German, and Italian, and others.

What company sizes and industries is Hootsuite the best fit for?

Hootsuite is used across small-business, mid-market, and enterprise organizations, with reviewer-reported use spanning several industries. The most visible clusters include:
  • Company size: Small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises.
  • Industries: Marketing and advertising, information technology and software, and higher education and nonprofit organizations.

How long does it take to implement Hootsuite across a team?

Teams most often report getting Hootsuite live in under a month, though setup can take longer when workflows are more involved.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Under 1 month Most common
1–3 months Less common
3–6 months Occasional
6–12 months or longer Uncommon

What customer support options does Hootsuite provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support spans self-service resources and direct help through email, chat, and phone, including 24/7 live-rep support. The experience is mixed: users value responsive, helpful assistance, while others find responses slow or support difficult to reach.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Hootsuite from another tool?

Switching from social management tools such as Sprout Social, Buffer, Zoho Social, and Agorapulse has been driven by the need to bring scheduling, account management, engagement, and reporting into one workflow. The move can make collaboration, approvals, and multi-account publishing easier, especially when the previous setup felt manual or lacked the needed capabilities.

What tools and platforms does Hootsuite integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Hootsuite offers 50 integrations, connecting social publishing with creative, AI, CRM, service, and analytics tools.
  • Social networks: Facebook, Instagram for Business, TikTok, and X.
  • Creative and AI: Canva, Adobe Express, Claude, and ChatGPT.
  • CRM, customer service, and analytics: Salesforce Sales Cloud, HubSpot Marketing Hub, Zendesk for Customer Service, and Google Analytics.
These connections can bring content assets and drafting tools into publishing workflows, or link social activity with CRM, service, and reporting work, reducing the need to switch between tools.

What features or capabilities could make Hootsuite even more useful?

Hootsuite could be more useful with improvements that make reporting more flexible and publishing workflows more complete. The recurring requests center on:
  • Deeper, more customizable analytics with clearer platform-specific metrics and reporting.
  • Broader support for platform-specific formats and actions, including Stories, Reels, threads, tagging, and media options.
  • More flexible recurring scheduling, bulk editing, and changes to scheduled posts.
  • Simpler navigation and smoother approval, permissions, and account-management workflows.

How useful do Hootsuite users find its AI features in everyday use?

Hootsuite’s AI is most useful as a starting point for content and analysis, but the experience varies by team and use case. Users describe using it for:
  • Drafting and refining captions or copy.
  • Generating content ideas and hashtag suggestions.
  • Summarizing or interpreting performance data and social conversations.
These tools can save time and help overcome a blank page, but suggestions may feel generic or miss a brand’s voice, so users often review and edit the results.

"A powerful tool for managing social media"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

Hootsuite is an excellent tool for managing my social media channels. I can schedule post on multiple platforms at the same time. I appreciate the recommended posting times so I know my content is getting the most views. The planner helps me see my scheduled content in multiple formats. The analytics are especially useful, specifically the ability to compare my performance to competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

The only downside I've run into is not being able to link Instagram mentions while in Hootsuite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Content Scheduling with Helpful “Best Time to Post” Insights"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I like that I can schedule out my content calendar for all the accounts I manage on a daily basis. It makes it so much easier to plan out when I want things posted and can see when I have stuff going out and how it gives the 'best time' of the day to post your content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

With the new update, it makes it harder to find the analytics or reports that I use on a daily basis. I'm just not used to the new update yet whereas the older version of Hootsuite was easier to go around because I was used to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Interface with Responsive Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

Having recently moved from a competitor, I've found the interface a lot more user-friendly. The drag and drop interface saves lots of time and I like that you can bulk tag content in Perch. I've found it easy to set up analytics dashboards and the AI tool is useful for analysing data - for example, I've used it to help calculate benchmarks and averages. I've been impressed by the number of integrations and I'm keen to explore these further. Whenever I've had issues or questions, the support team have been quick to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

One area which could be improved is the range of metrics. I know advanced analytics can be purchased as an add-on, but given that we pay for the Enterprise version, I was hoping for more flexibility around calculating averages for channel and content performance, and certain engagement and conversion metrics (e.g. click-through rate and average watch duration) would be useful. "Seamless Social Media Management with Hootsuite"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I use Hootsuite for posting across multiple social media channels and tracking analytics on a monthly basis. It provides a faster, unified experience for posting and a very convenient one-stop-shopping for tracking impressions. I really like the ease of use, as it very rarely has glitches. Creating and posting to social media channels is something I do close to a daily basis with it, and it's made much easier. The initial setup was very easy and seamless. What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I'd like to see a better ability to call up and insert '@' user handles in my posts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean workflow with Canva integration and time zone scheduling in Hootsuite"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I handle social media and design for Ad Vantage Dubai from my home country India, and my biggest priority is staying organized and hitting deadlines. What I love most is how clean workflow is. I just build carousels in Canva, pull them straight into Hootsuite and adapt sizing for Instagram and LinkedIn without dozens of files to my laptop. Time zone scheduling is another plus point for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

My biggest annoyance as a designer is that there is no visual 9-grid preview for Instagram. Our many clients care a lot about feed aesthetics, and I need to see how property flyers, video thumbnails and carousels sit next to each other before they go live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"So Easy to Schedule Social Media Posts"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

Hootsuite is a very user-friendly platform. I am able to schedule out weeks of content in advance over multiple platforms, which takes a lot of burden off of keeping up with social media. The platform has a lot of features to maximize the posting process. I appreciate the engagement score to see how my posts are doing with my customer base. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

The only downside is when the social media platforms get disconnected and I have to repost. However, Hootsuite is great about notifying me that there is an issue with my scheduled posts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Convenient All-in-One Tool for Social Media Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

What I like best about Hootsuite is how easy it makes managing multiple social media accounts from one place. The scheduling tools are very convenient, the dashboard is intuitive, and it saves a lot of time when planning and publishing content across different platforms. I also like having analytics and performance insights available in the same tool, which makes it easier to track results and improve our social media strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

One thing I dislike about Hootsuite is that the platform can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming, especially when working with several accounts and features at once. Some tools and reporting options also take time to learn, and certain advanced features are only available on higher-priced plans. Overall, it is a useful platform, but the user experience and pricing could be more flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralizes Social Media Management, Needs Better Reporting"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I use Hootsuite to manage customer messages and respond to inquiries on Facebook and Instagram. I like how it brings Facebook and Instagram together and helps me handle a large number of messages efficiently, allowing me to sort them from first to last or vice versa. I appreciate features like tags, topics, reports, and the option to plan posts. The initial setup was really easy and didn't require IT support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

One area that could be improved is managing a high volume of customer conversations. When many messages come in at the same time, it can sometimes be difficult to quickly identify, organize, and prioritize conversations that require immediate attention. The platform could also provide more flexible pricing options for different team sizes and clearer tools for measuring the direct ROI of social media customer service activities. In addition, the AI capabilities could be more advanced for customer service, particularly for conversation categorization, prioritization, summarization, and suggested responses. These improvements would help teams manage conversations more efficiently and demonstrate the value of their social media support operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential for Reporting and Scheduling"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I really appreciate Hootsuite for its powerful analysis and reporting capabilities. These features are crucial for me when it comes to generating reports and analyzing performance. I also find the scheduling functionality to be quite beneficial as it helps me serve my clients more effectively. The initial setup of Hootsuite was easy, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with Hootsuite's offerings and would rate it a 10 on the likelihood to recommend it to a friend or colleague. Love the UI/UX. My performance has got better and the pricing is not bad. AI I haven't used much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I can't connect only Instagram without Facebook, which is a bit frustrating. They should let us connect it withpout facebook, thats a major problem I have faced Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Powerful Hootsuite Platform That Streamlines Social and Insights"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

It's incredibly intuitive. Very happy with the platform features and performance. Perch and Analytics I use the most. I also love Streams under Nest for staying on top of mentions for clients. It makes it incredibly easy to engage with relevant mentions and build brand engagement. The recent mcp integrations have been wonderful in streamlining processes. The internal AI tools have been great. I've loved wisdom for reviewing performance and gaining insights but also for copy, alt text, hashtags, and more. Onboarding was a breeze with our rep. We were set up in no time. Though Hootsuite is an investment it's proven to be helpful in so many ways for our clients. The listening tool is great for research and providing valuable information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

My only constructive feedback would be the calendar sharing for reviewing posts. Currently, we can only share 1 week at a time. I would love to be able to share a custom calendar view for clients so they can preview all posts in Hootsuite rather than keeping that step in Figma. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
