What do you dislike about Guru?

Guru could its content organization for larger teams with extensive documentation. Sometimes search result can be broader than expected. More customization in layout and formatting would enhance readability. Improved reporting and usage insights would also add value. Minor UI refinements could make navigation even more intuitive. "Effortless Search with Guru's Reliable Chat Bot"
5/5
What do you like best about Guru?

I use Guru to quickly search through company policy and procedure documents. It makes searching through these documents to answer specific questions quick and easy. I really like how it just works; I didn't need to do anything for the initial setup. Also, the chatbot is good at providing the sources that I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Guru?

I think Guru could improve by making it clearer where each piece of information comes from. It would be helpful to verify the output directly so I know exactly where the information is sourced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Knowledge Management, Needs Better Analytics"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Guru?

I use Guru as an internal knowledge base for our small Support team and appreciate the quick access to up-to-date internal references. I find the ability to track validity and updates very helpful, as I can assign different people to review and validate the cards at different timeframes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Guru?

Lack of advanced analytics in-app. Left navigation is not intuitive. Landing page/dashboard is visually cluttered, even when customized. Search field is keyword only which pulls from the card titles only, from my experience. Navigation simply isn't intuitive--I hunt and peck for stuff all the time. Make the search more universal for common words, not just key words in the title. I had to build my own external dashboard using scripts to show analytics pulled from Guru by API. The Google Chrome extension is inconsistently reliable. Another thing that could be improved is the linear limitation within the cards. If it's not a linear process, it's harder to show. Would be nice to have more than an internal text box in a card. Could grabbing a video to do steps, such as with Guidde, rather than using Guidde then importing to show more complex processes. Or a visual Miro type element. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Knowledge Management with Room for Notification Improvements"
4/5
What do you like best about Guru?

I use Guru as an internal knowledge management and repository for the company. I really appreciate its fantastic search capabilities, which minimize the need to bookmark and update links to content and assets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Guru?

I don’t know if this is a Guru issue or just how our admins configured it - Guru sends out email notifications that link back to Guru, but do not contain useful content themselves. This creates extra clicks and - if on my mobile or just logged out - requires me to log in to Guru. As a result, I mostly skip these notifications, even though they may be important. It would be best if the actual content was included in the email notifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Guru: Streamlining Knowledge, Boosting Team Efficiency"
5/5
What do you like best about Guru?

What I like best about Guru is how effectively it delivers trusted knowledge exactly when and where it’s needed.

The biggest standout is its ability to integrate directly into everyday workflows—so instead of stopping to search through folders or ask teammates, you can instantly surface the right answer while working. That “in-the-flow” access makes a huge difference in fast-paced environments like support or sales.

I also really value the verification system. Knowing that content is owned, reviewed regularly, and clearly marked as up-to-date builds real trust. Without that, most knowledge tools become unreliable over time—but Guru actively prevents that decay.

Finally, its simplicity and speed make adoption easy. Teams actually use it because it’s lightweight, searchable, and doesn’t feel like a chore to maintain. That combination—accessible, reliable, and easy to use—is what makes it stand out the most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Guru?

What I dislike about Guru mainly comes down to how it handles scale and complexity over time.

One of the biggest challenges is that search can become noisy as the knowledge base grows. Even with good content, it’s not always easy to surface the best answer quickly—especially when there are similar or overlapping cards. That can slow people down and sometimes push them back to asking colleagues instead.

Another downside is that content can get messy without strong governance. Because it’s so easy to create cards, teams can unintentionally duplicate information or create slightly different versions of the same topic. Over time, that leads to clutter and confusion about which source is the most accurate.

Lastly, Guru can feel limiting for more complex or long-form documentation. The card-based format works great for quick answers, but it’s not ideal for deeply structured content like technical documentation, detailed processes, or anything that requires a strong narrative flow.

Overall, these aren’t dealbreakers—but they do mean that getting the most out of Guru requires active management and the right use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Knowledge Hub with Selective Visibility"
5/5
What do you like best about Guru?

I like that we can share knowledge, but that it also has a feature to keep some of that information to certain individuals so it's not visible to the whole company. I can choose what teams are able to see what, and it's also easy to verify and keep up to date. The ability to keep sensitive topics locked out of public view, is very useful. We integrate Guru with Chrome, Zendesk, and Slack, which are great integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Guru?

The search feature can be not as helpful once your company grows, because many teams call certain topics the same way. So when you search for things, you can end up with not really relevant results and many results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Guru: Intuitive Knowledge Hub with AI Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Guru?

I like Guru's verification cadencing and assignment features, which help us ensure information stays up to date and is reviewed by the right people. The AI agents are great as they use our sourced data from Guru and other locations like Google Drive, Gong, and Slack to answer questions effectively. This feature really helps prevent SMEs and legacy employees from having to deal with too many repetitive questions. Setting up Guru was very easy, and they've been available to help with clean-up projects and revamps along the way (we are long-time users). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Guru?

Some features to review for duplicative content or different answers within different cards/articles. Since we source from multiple places, if information is incorrect in Google Drive but correct in Guru, or correct in Confluence but incorrect in Guru, we'd want a way to sift through them to find and update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
