I originally left a 5-star review as a lifetime deal customer, expecting continued development. That expectation was not met. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

After long periods of stagnation, Frase has now launched a rebuilt product behind a subscription while lifetime customers are kept on a legacy version. Being told the old tool still works does not fulfill the original lifetime promise, which implied ongoing product evolution.

Rebuilding a platform is understandable. Resetting development behind a paywall and asking lifetime customers to pay again is not. This fundamentally changes the value of the original purchase and breaks trust.

If you haven’t checked out Frase lately, you’re missing out. The Frase team have completely levelled up the platform with Frase 2.0. It’s now one of the most powerful tools out there for content creators, marketers, and SEOs.

From smarter AI writing to enhanced SEO scoring, topic clustering, and better integrations. Frase 2.0 helps you create content that actually performs. It’s not only about writing, it’s about writing with purpose, backed by data and strategy.

The Frase team genuinely listens to user feedback. And they roll out updates based on real requests. You’re not just using a tool, you’re part of a community that’s shaping it. If you hit a snag, they won’t rest until you’re sorted. That kind of dedication is rare.

I love how Frase scrapes the top 20 listings for you! Saves a great deal of work for those of us who used to have to manually search for the best titles, headers, and keywords. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish Frase would update their formatting so you can easily copy and paste from a Google Doc. Currently, you need to go in and clear the formatting from Google and restructure your articles for proper hierarchy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My favorite feature is building article outlines. It allows me to see what ranking articles are doing at a glance and structure our content logically.

I also use it for SEO optimization to make sure we're covering the main topic themes and using relevant keywords.

Another thing is that the Frase team is constantly working on improving the tool and introducing new features.

As a content creator, 2 things jump right out at me in Frase.io: Firstly, no more Fear Of A Blank Document - whoop whoop! The simple and fast way I can go from literally just ONE keyword phrase eg. "construction supplies" to a whole document outline so fast, is just phenomenal! Invest just 5 mins for "OK, that will do" to 30 mins for "And the winner is...!"

The second thing has to be the ease with which I can segment and reshuffle my outlines - even if I've started off with a prewritten piece to begin with (this happen a lot) - and then pass it back up/down the approval chain for approval/comment - without having to juggle account memberships. It's hard to fault the software, actually. I guess the onboarding could be a little snazzier, with guided overlays or such. This would help not only first-time writers discover the power at their fingertips faster/more intuitively. However, the video tutorials and webinars are very informative. I love the automatic content brief creation, it drastically reduces content creation time as we can put out keywork in and Frase.io creates a very clear brief which our writers can follow which saves hours of work. The AI writer and SEO addon are amazing too, you just have to try it to see how fast you can write original articles with SEO in mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am able to draw questions from Frase that people are asking on quora and google. This helps me to create content that people are asking. This is one saviour that helps my mentees too to create their courses.

It was a cheaper alternative to Jasper and it contained some of the same functionality. It is relatively easy to use. I really like the dashboard that shows me how my article stacks up to others competing for that keyword. It makes it easy for me to understand what I need to add/subtract to rank higher.
