"Fourwaves makes running academic events simple, affordable, and stress-free"
What do you like best about Fourwaves?

We are the Mississippi Academy of Sciences, a non-profit organization led by faculty volunteers that hosts 2–3 student-focused events each year. Our mission is to ensure these events remain affordable for the many students who attend to present their scientific research. In March 2026, we will proudly host our 90th annual meeting.

Over the years, we have used several abstract submission and registration platforms. Some required separate systems for abstracts and registration, which made cross-referencing time-consuming and difficult. Others offered both functions but lacked a central event landing page. Fourwaves has been exceptional in meeting all of these needs by combining abstract submission, registration, and an event landing page that links seamlessly to our organization’s website.

Equally important, the Fourwaves team is responsive, reliable, and proactive in providing guidance. Their narrated video tutorials are simple, clear, and invaluable in helping us optimize our platform. During contract renewal, we especially appreciated the CEO’s thoughtful review of the features we actually used, ensuring we selected the right plan without unnecessary added costs. This integrity and customer-first approach set them apart.

For the past three years, our partnership with Fourwaves has been outstanding. Their support team consistently provides quick, patient responses—something we value greatly as a group that is not especially tech-savvy. The platform itself is intuitive, rich in features, and offers excellent value for the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fourwaves?

Only one minor limitation we’ve encountered is that if someone registers with an invoice but later decides to pay by credit card, they must use a different email address. This can make it more difficult to track submissions, registrations, and the total number of participants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Exceptional Support and Continuous Improvements"
What do you like best about Fourwaves?

Fourwaves has been quick to respond to any rare technical issues that have occurred and promptly investigate what went wrong to prevent a reoccurrence. They are happy to guide you through setup if needed, and they occasionally check in to make sure everything is running smoothly and to see if you have any questions.

They also make improvements and add new features on a regular basis. After each event I've provided feedback on my experience, and by the time I start my next event they've already implemented much of what I've suggested or are in the process of doing so. Each event gets better and easier thanks to their hard work and dedication to the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fourwaves?

For the cost of the lower tier events I think more submissions should be included without needing to purchase the "unlimited submissions" add-on. A compromise may be that more submissions are allowed, but the limit applies to how many submissions are actually accepted and included in the event.

If you have the top tier plan and want to run a second active event that is much smaller, you are forced to pay the full price of the top tier plan for each event even if you don't need all the bells and whistles. It should be an option to purchase the appropriate tier based on each individual event needs. This is not a big concern for many I am sure, but it is for a non-profit trying to use their funds wisely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
