We're unable to participate in some sales programs due to the system limitations, it's so SLOW, and it's difficult to add a lot of users. For example on the sales programs, we're unable to offer FBA with Amazon because there isn't a consignment application we can use in Epicor. It makes it really difficult to grow the business when we have to come up with creative solutions/Band-Aid processes on our own because the programs we us don't have anything native. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Running inventory reports is fairly simple. ### 2. Unlike other ERP's I have used in the past, Epicor is much more forgiving and allows you to correct mistakes without worrying about breaking the workflow and having to get IT or a designated coordinator involved to reverse mistakes. It is satisfactory for manufacturing environments and allows us to track parts, jobs, quotes, inventory and more. There is advanced functionality available where one can automate purchasing requisitions or inventory replenishment and production replenishment (Kanbans). One can logically build Bills of Materials within the ERP and track production, labor, personnel and non-conformances. Import and exporting to excel is very simple. Overall, this ERP is very simple yet still retains wide functionality and diverse uses. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** We have a lot of legacy data in our system that needs to be edited whenever it pops up again for a new quote or job. Editing this data is not always easy because certain data fields become linked to other data fields and in order to edit/overwrite something you need to edit everything related to the field. This wouldn't be an issue if all data was entered correctly the first time but going back and changing things that already had been closed out previously is a bit of a headache. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Epicor for daily part/job/quote tracking but have also delved deeper into the functionality. Currently I am implementing a Kanban pull system for certain parts so purchase requisitions are generated automatically when inventory dips below a preset minimum value. Very nice on premise system, very customizable. We had a very smooth transition from our legacy software. Definitely focused on function rather than looks. The best part about Epicor is its customization tools allowing us to transition smoothly across ERP's onto Epicor without having to "fit" the mould. We were able to keep some of our legacy ERP spreadsheets and data as we moved across allowing for a smooth transition. Moving ERP systems is not just like flicking a switch, there is a lot of trial and error and having the customization capabilities that Epicor has allows that to happen without having to completely let go of the old system until users are comfortable with the new system. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** The system is not very user friendly. The reports out of the box are poor. Epicor is relying on it's customers to spend money to build their own reports. This is great in theory but not in practice. In the modern world people expect reports and dashboard to be pre-built. and connectors to other software to be pre-built. The finance module is very clunky and allows many mistakes to happen. **Recommendations to others considering Kinetic:** Spend the money up front to evaluate whether this is the right solution for you. It's an excellent software, just not for everyone. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were mainly solving automation and data entry issues with the flow of production and shipping. In this we have saved many errors and mis-shipments due to the use of Epicor. ### 9. The addition of the REST API has been a godsend. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** I both love and hate the release cycle. They're quick to add features and fix bugs, but they seem to create as many with each new release. Support can be really rough. We find that if we're able to get through to someone who geniuinely cares and is expert in what they're supporting , they do a great job. Getting through to someone like that can take literal days of frustration. Too often, a case gets passed around from agent to agent for days until someone's willing to investigate a root cause clearly. **Recommendations to others considering Kinetic:** As with any ERP solution - if it's not in writing, don't trust the salesguy. Because of this, users are prevented from circumventing the pre-established process. The system can be clunky at times, requiring a lengthy process for what should be a more simple procedure. For example, returns and rebills. Not only in manufacturing but at a very finite level. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** While Epicor has the technical expertise the ability to get customer support is challenging at times to get solutions to daily issues in a reasonable amount of time. Not that we are not given help but being at a lower version level has impacted our service. For our purposes, we need to customize these rules to allow flexibility in a segment. We would prefer to have an override flag that lets us manually enter the third segment ourselves (which, in our case, comes from projects). MRP has allowed us to improved inefficiencies in what was a manual procurement of spare parts inventory. We have developed a really sophisticated Kanban calculator that allows us to ensure we have adequate inventory levels for non MRP parts. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** Sometimes we have issues with Support. Ongoing Issues with Epicor partner and level of consultancy and support. Projects module does not give us a profit and loss account for our projects. I saw in the Road ahead they mentioned profitability yet I did not see and Pnl displayed. Not alot of standard reporting out of the box.
