What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

I use Amex GBT Egencia to book travel for work, and it's so easy to book everything. I really like being able to book flights, hotels, and car rentals all at once. Plus, the information gets sent to my co-workers automatically, which saves me a lot of time. Switching from Expedia was a huge time saver for us because, with Expedia, I had to contact airlines myself for any changes, spending a lot of time on hold. With Amex GBT Egencia, your associates handle that part. The initial setup was also easy as we just needed to provide traveler details and emails, and you guys did the rest. What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

When I have to cancel a flight and there is an airline credit, I wish I could see it as the travel manager and not just the employee who the flight was booked for. I did send an email to the contact at Amex GBT Egencia, and she never emailed back. Maybe our contact has changed, in which case I never found out about that. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

I think some of the reporting could use improvement. And some of the searching capabilities could be improved as well. I am a long time customer and reporting for me previously was so much easier. I could simply go to the reporting tab and enter some specific data that I am trying to search for and it was so simple to generate a report. Now, it seems that it is a little more difficult to do a quick search. Just a more simplified easier to use reporting tool would help. I would like to be able to customize it be simple. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

What I value most about Egencia is the balance between technology and service. The platform is intuitive and efficient for travelers and bookers, which helps drive adoption and compliance, while still being backed by a responsive support team when complex or urgent situations arise.

I also appreciate the transparency in reporting and policy controls, which are critical from a Global Travel & Expense perspective. It gives us visibility, control, and the ability to make data-driven decisions while maintaining a good traveler experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

While Egencia offers solid functionality overall, there are a few areas where improvements would significantly enhance the experience.

One key limitation is the inability to book mixed cabin classes within the same group reservation. This creates operational challenges when traveler needs differ (e.g., executives vs. standard travelers) and often requires splitting bookings, which reduces efficiency and visibility.

Another opportunity for improvement would be the introduction of a global events or group travel module. A centralized section where departments can submit and manage group travel requests would be extremely valuable. Ideally, this would allow Events or Travel teams to have full visibility, manage approvals, coordinate bookings, and send communications to attendees in one place. This would reduce manual processes and improve oversight for larger movements of people.

Additionally, a more robust approver dashboard would be highly beneficial. It would be helpful if approvers could easily see where their team members are traveling, what is booked, and upcoming trips not just individual approval requests. This would enhance duty of care, budget visibility, and planning.

Additionally, it would be beneficial to introduce an option within the booking dashboard that allows travelers to upgrade their flight using their personal form of payment. This would provide flexibility while maintaining policy compliance and ensuring the company is only covering the approved portion of the fare.

Overall, the platform is strong, but greater flexibility for group bookings, improved global event management capabilities, and enhanced visibility tools for leadership would take it to the next level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

I find Amex GBT Egencia to be an excellent service, the best we've ever used in years. The platform is easy to use, and the customer service representatives are very helpful. I really appreciate the utility and user-friendliness of the platform. The way the platform is organized and set up makes it very efficient for travel booking. Users can get in, make decisions, book travel, and download the needed data easily. Additionally, the support we received from our account manager made the initial setup very easy. What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

At times, there are very long holds to wait to speak to a customer service representative on the phone. The phone calls do take quite a bit amount of time to get to completion. Understandably, the reps do have to repeat back to the caller each of the specific details so that both parties can be in alignment. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

I find the filtering options during booking for cars, flights, and hotels incredibly helpful, making it easy to ensure we're using Amex GBT Egencia to its fullest and also ensuring our partnership with National Car Rental is properly utilized. Our account manager is awesome, always replying anytime I have questions, which really helps. The reporting tools are great for checking budgeting and expenses or figuring out where changes might be needed. The initial setup was very easy, with filters, traveler groups, and changes easily integrated, thanks to our account manager, Emily Veith. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

I wish there were ways to not show entire airlines or booking services, or a way to filter them to be at the very bottom always. For example, we have a partnership with National & Enterprise so we do not want to see any other rental options or our traveler has to pay upfront which we're trying to avoid since they should not be paying out of pocket. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

I use Amex GBT Egencia for associate travels, including flights, hotels, and car rentals as needed. I like that it's a friendly "self-serve" platform, which means associates can book their travel independently after training and understanding the guidelines, like getting pre-approval before booking. What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

Running data reports is always a challenge. Every month, we see 2-4 transactions that do not provide us with enough details. Our finance department requires specific information showing the traveler and what the charge was for. A lot of the time, the representative comes back saying that it was charged by a third party, either directly from the airline or hotel. What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

Too many clicks to get where I need. I book for multiple travelers, the "trip" will often disconnect and I need to go back to the 'drafts' and book each traveler individually - then when I want to copy the confirmation codes, I need to search each traveler separately as their own trip, despite booking as one trip.
