# Samsara vs Verizon Connect for a logistics company that needs GPS tracking, driver safety scores, and maintenance alerts without three separate subscriptions?

Hey G2 community, I'm comparing Samsara and Verizon Connect for a logistics use case where the goal is one platform covering GPS tracking, driver safety scoring, and maintenance alerts, rather than stitching together three separate subscriptions.

Both are well-known names in the Fleet Management category, but reviewers describe pretty different experiences, so I wanted to lay out what the data actually shows for each.

Samsara: Reviewers consistently describe it as an all-in-one dashboard that brings GPS, AI safety camera,d driver behavior scores, and maintenance alerts together, so you're not switching between tools. Real-time tracking and safety coaching come up as standout strengths. The main caveats: cost climbs as you add cameras and hardware, and alert volume needs configuration so it doesn't overwhelm.

Verizon Connect: Reviewers credit it with solid GPS tracking, safety/at-risk behavior alerts, and reporting on a reliable network, and some long-time users are happy with it. However, the data also shows recurring, serious complaints, hardware that failed or drained vehicle batteries, rigid contracts, slow or inconsistent support, and broken data/API integrations that went unresolved for months. Several reviewers describe switching away because of these issues.

For logistics teams who've run either one, did a single platform truly cover tracking, safety scores, and maintenance for you, or did you still end up adding tools? And for anyone who used both, what actually drove the decision: hardware reliability, support, cost, or the safety features?

I’d go with Samsara here, mainly because it seems to cover all three needs in one cleaner workflow. Verizon Connect’s contract and hardware complaints would make me nervous for a logistics team that can’t afford tracking gaps.
