It is saving us from using an outside travel agent, thus saving us costs overall. It allows more flexibility for our travelers and better visibility and control for our management to approve travel. It allows us to build our T&E policy guidelines right into the booking system to help avoid travel outside the policy before it happens. The interface of Amex GBT Egencia is similar to other interfaces people use for personal travel, making it familiar and easy to navigate. I also appreciate the settings that can be adjusted to fit our travel policy, providing flexibility for our needs. What I like best is how easy it makes booking and managing trips across multiple regions. The platform offers a huge selection of flights, hotels, and car rentals, all in one place — so we rarely run into availability issues. Egencia touts “consumer-like” simplicity for business travel and strong traveler support. For travelers, ease of booking, mobile access, real-time changes matter a lot — and this is emphasised. While Amex GBT Egencia offers strong global coverage and great reporting tools, the least helpful aspect is that the platform can feel a bit limited and clunky at times. Some low-cost flight options don’t always appear in search results, and the interface for modifying or managing complex bookings isn’t always intuitive. Customer support can also be inconsistent during high-volume travel periods, which can make resolving urgent issues a little stressful. Additionally, pricing through Egencia doesn’t always match what’s available directly through airlines or hotels. It solves a lot of the common challenges with booking, tracking, and managing trips across different locations. Before, we spent too much time comparing prices and keeping receipts — now everything is in one place. The platform makes it easy to find and book flights and hotels that fit our company policy, while still giving travelers flexibility. Having access to detailed reports and spending data has also made it much easier to track costs and stay on budget. Another big benefit is traveler safety and support — Egencia’s alerts and 24/7 assistance give us peace of mind, especially when plans change unexpectedly. Each traveler you book for or manage needs to either have a profile set up, or they need to add you as an arranger, you cannot search itinerary numbers if you are not added to that persons account. It is easy enough to have them add you, but getting them to do it can be a bit time consuming and they have to be willing to do it. Many of the faculty that i work with don't enjoy extra steps. I love the organizational part of Amex GBT Egencia. It makes organizing travel really easy, allowing me to categorize and organize everyone. I kinda have to dig for the transaction history for the second flight. That's basically the only issue I've come across that I haven't found the solution for.
