**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

code level tracing, recommendations, AI option. Not expert in using of DEM but this module looks very helpful for customer experience feedback, small trick here, in case of budget limit, because this options cost not small amount of money, you can use it for VIP customer.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

all fits to my expectation, just needs time to analyze data. price is higher if compering with another APM tools, but the results that Dynatrace gives to user I think It's worth it.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

start with small steps, install agent one by one. analyze each alert you receive from dynatrace. It need teams culture change to receive full result and this takes time, so expect some resistance before ice melts. .

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

application performance, team got more interconnected. seeing issues that was not visible before and monitoring team was able to detect only front side issues, which was mostly reproducible when getting complains from users. Tool show exact path of every transaction from user to very back end application server. Can catch what is wrong with detailed recommendation and root cause analysis.

  ### 7. Great tool for the right team

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | IT Systems Manager, Mining & Metals, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

There are very deep metrics that can be reached and provides a lot of robust dashboards to ingest those metrics. The root cause feature is accurate and can be a real time saver. I also really like being able to track all user transaction and play them back for troubleshooting purposes.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The interface is a bit overwhelming if you are not engaged in it all of the time. It is pretty clearly geared towards a development team and not an infrastructure team / NOC. It does bring in some infrastructure metrics as well but it is clear that it did not start out that way.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Be sure that you evaluate the information you will receive from Dynatrace and that it fits with your goals. There are other providers out there that can give a different view of things geared towards different types of teams. That being said, if you are using it in a more DEV type environment, then it would be very hard to beat.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace has really helped us to pinpoint issues in our web services that were difficult to find previously. Being able to get to the transactions that occurred during a time with a problem is nice and really helps.

  ### 8. Demystifying and Revealing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Insights and in-depth analysis of all problems

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

It shows the problems 7-8 mins after it has surfaced which sometimes causes delays in remedy and resolution of the issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Very powerful application performance monitoring tool

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proactive Monitoring of our application. Benefit is high availability of our application to our users.

  ### 9. Good tool and getting even better.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

There is not tool like Dynatrace in regard to its ability to pull together so much data across your enterprise. It also provides an AI engine to highlight where the problems are. So the days of digging through data are over.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I wish it was easier to get the data out of Dynatrace. The API is a little cumbersome as there are two versions and you have to hunt to find out which of them will supply the data you need. If the user experience data was not purged then you could probably do with their dash-boarding which was weak initially but is continuously improving

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Critical incident analysis and remediation, SLA mgt, improving user experience. Using this tool has shortened the amount of time it takes to discover a problem. Several times it told us of issues we didn't even know we had. The user experience metrics are helping us to improve the response times of our applications

  ### 10. Journey with Dynatrace as a new Customer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mostofa A. | IT System Quality, Sr. Advisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The trained skilled resource pool of Dynatrace and the robust capability to monitor systems developed in a wide range of technology. Our company uses both cloud based systems and On-prem systems. Dynatrace is providing the capability to monitor both cloud and on-prem systems. It also improved our capability to find root cause of the issues more effectively.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

We are still in deployment phase of Dynatrace. One recommendation would be to provide more documentation of integration with other monitoring tools in case Dynatrace can not provide all of the capabilities we are looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

If you want to deep drive into the root cause of the issue you are facing day to day, Dynatrace is the tool to go. Please make sure you train you internal resources before implementing Dynatrace. Dynatrace has many capabilities. A trained resource pool will give you better return of investment.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company did not have an integrated monitoring system for our critical applications. We were depending on various tools to monitor the systems. Dynatrace is providing integrated monitoring capabilities. We noticed that our troubleshooting and root cause finding capabilities improved significantly.

  ### 11. Dynatrace helps with ease of troubleshooting incidents

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamin K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

I like the one click ability to see dependent services and how they might be impacted during an incident. Seeing dependencies and their flows, while also suggesting a root cause, helps speed up troubleshooting certain scenarios a lot. We have had several situations where a typical troubleshooting scenario would have taken several hours with multiple teams to isolate a specific root cause, only after clearing multiple other potential root causes one by one. With Dynatrace, we've had situations where we were able to get a clear arrow towards the true root cause. Given its accuracy, we've had the development teams learn to trust the accuracy of the tool.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Some of the user interface can be a little disjointed and difficult for new users to pick up easily. I think this is somewhat related to the wealth of features that Dynatrace offers - the current split of features can be a little overwhelming without formal training. It isn't impossible to pick up on the fly, but to really navigate the features can really take some time and handholding. Noted, this doesnt apply to all of the features.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Do a full fledged trial and see how itll work in the most optimal state in your environment. Be mindful of the budget you are working with, as the best functionality comes with an all-in with the tool when integration. Using it as a piece meal solution works, but it definitely is lacking.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have identified root causes in applications more quickly, which help reduce the amount of time allocated to any particular incident. Weaknesses in certain dependencies upstream or downstream have also been easier to identify, which helps spur conversations with the developers and other related teams.
This tool has also freed up some time to allow our ops teams to focus more on automating other aspects of our platform.

  ### 12. Improving application performance by using Dynatrace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melvin V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The Dynatrace AI Davis, no configuration operation and the extensibility of the product. It is possible to attach all kinds of tools or integrations to the product so we are able to leverage full value out of the product.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

It is sometimes difficult to access or search throught data. This makes it difficult to browse the data freely; combining this with a complex UI it is sometimes annoying to find everything.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Make sure you take your team in reading what is on each page within the product. By reading all text slowly and making sure you understand the graphs you can become much more succesful in using the product. Furthermore, make sure you click anything. Dynatrace tries to funnel the data logically and show you the data what matters. And if you can see a topic which matters but not see the information, click the subject! By clicking the subject Dynatrace will show 80% of the time more data about it and help you.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microservice issues on Kubernetes, resourcesproblems within datacenters and code level debugging on production.

  ### 13. An Ocean of Possibilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace affords is quick and easy to get going. It immediately comes with a massive selection of powerful metrics, automatic correlation and anomaly detection. It simply is up to you to point it in the direction you want its attention.

Once set up, the world is your oyster. The tool is highly extensible and affords its users every opportunity to monitor what they want, how they want, which is extremely powerful.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

As with everything, cost is an inhibiting factor. Though the initial setup is quick and painless, mastering everything seems it can take a lifetime.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

The tool is incredibly powerful. Be aware of what your business goals are and ensure that you are not using a chainsaw to try and slice bread.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick, successful troubleshooting at the application, environment and individual user levels are all things that have been done using the Dynatrace AppMon product. With Dynatrace Managed coming, this should increase tenfold.

  ### 14. The Dynatrace OneAgent UI brings in some of the best features of AppMon

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The ONE Premium Chat feature is awesome! The response rates and feedback we've received so far from the chat sessions have been excellent so far. I also like the dashboard customization features and how you can share dashboards with your leaders and managers to give them an overview of your infrastructure, services, and application health.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I dislike the inability to add Kubernetes metrics and health to my dashboard, but I heard that this is a feature that is coming!

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Involve your app teams, security teams, network teams early on in your implementation and preparation activities to avoid any roadbumps and obstacles like Firewalls, access, and security issues.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are still fairly early in our rollout and hope to have more app teams onboarded and using the SaaS solution as quickly as possible. But we hope to yield better performance management practices and adoption at our company. Essentially we would like to evolve the behavior/practice at our company to be more 'proactive' vs. 'reactive' when it comes to issues that cause downtime and business.

  ### 15. Best APM choice - make your cloud autonomous

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace is very easy to setup, wehter its an on premise installation or just the agents. You get insights into your application from End User Experience to code level analytics in minutes.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I don't see any major problems with dynatrace. Every product can be improved, but the roadmap is very promising and product managers are always responsive in the community forums

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace helps getting visibility into complex multi cloud environments without huge configuration complexity.
MTTI can be drastically reduced even in large environments thanks to the AI problem analysis.

  ### 16. Dynatrace the Best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Easy visibility in the tool and easy configuration

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Some important information is missing in the tool.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Choose and be happy

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility of our features in the applications

  ### 17. Great support during implementation and beyond

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve E. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

I like that Dynatrace assisted us when we decided to bring AppMon/Dynatrace into our company. The assistance they provided leading up to implementation and beyond was superb.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I dont' like that Dynatrace can't do everything that I need and I have to rely on other tools to fill in gaps, but it seems that the company is continuously working to improve the product.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Take advantage of the support/sales staff as much as possible. They are amazing!

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Dynatrace we are able to give interesting data to more of out IT organization. Those who don't work within Dynatrace day in and day out are able to garner useful data out of what Dynatrace is collecting and displaying. This wasn't possible with other products, where it took a deep understanding of the product to be able to get anything useful out of it.

  ### 18. Other people guess root cause, Dynatrace helps us to KNOW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Honestly, the debugging features helps us to get right down to the root cause in just a few clicks. The deployment and self discovery of the environment and the support. Everything we do is undone without having great support and help to work problems if they occur. And the dynatrace folks actually listen when there are feature upgrades. They are constantly adding new features, updates and quickly fix the few bugs that occur

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Don't have any, they fix issues quickly and are making improvements so fast that any feature you're looking for is likely being thought of, or already on the way.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Determining and showing developers their performance to customers, and helping them solve problems faster.

  ### 19. A comprehensive application monitoring solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin T. | Senior Technical Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

It is able to track your application flow between all application layers from the user on the browser or mobile all the way to the backend database. We can easily determine at which points in the application that is causing issues quickly.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Initial learning curve to understand how to efficiently use Dynatrace, however this is greatly helped by initial learning sessions by Dynatrace consultants.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Dynatrace is great for those who want to get a deep insight into how their applications are working on their infrastructure for performance testing and fault diagnosis.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performance issues with BPM application, which we were able to locate the source of the bottleneck was coming from the database affecting particular stored procedures. We were able to tune them and realize significant performance gains as a result.

  ### 20. APM market Leader

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harish S. | DevOps Automation Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace have very good with AI and easy to configure with 24*7 Chat support

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Begin a large application its customisation is not so easy.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dyntrace help me provide RCA

  ### 21. Delivers on promises but isn't 100% technically sound

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

How not difficult it is to initially setup the system. There is a lot of usability the day that you install it

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The high frequency of alerting as well as all the fine tuning to deliver this product to be production ready.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

It works but is subject to compete with other monitoring tools you may be using. Too many header injections can slow down performance. However they pretty much deliver on all their promises

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed greater insight into our stability problems and better root cause analysis

  ### 22. Easy Implementation But Very Difficult To Navigate.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle G. | Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

I like the ability to classify and correlate data into a single root cause in most cases across many different sources.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The curve of learning can be pretty steep and the interface is not intuitive. For a truly successful deployment, the training is essential. This tool is very difficult to navigate and can cause a problem if you do not use it constantly.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Get the learning and spend a while passing all it provides.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We got a little Dynatrace deployment and it had to be installed a breeze. In a matter of hours, we were able to have this up and run and collect meaningful information. There is no comparison of information and it is quite reactive. In minutes we had been trying to figure out for weeks before, I could identify problems. The nomenclature and so on have a little bit of a learning curve. The term application and host are defined in a slightly different way. Once it is understood, nothing that cannot be overcome promptly. With it we're very pleased.

  ### 23. Best APM tool in current market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace provides you end to end monitoring solution to your application. Dynatrace Synthetic and log analytics is an add-on for this tool which helps you to monitor your application pro-actively.

AI pin-points to the root cause and without much manual effort users able to correlate the issue.

Dynatrace is now easy to configure and maintain without much investment in operations.

Dynatrace OneTeam chat support provides instant solutions and suggestion for improving the usage of this tool

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Reporting and 2FA feature need to be enabled because most of the current application moving to SAAS and 2FA becomes must.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

If you are looking for Best APM tool to implement in your environment then this would be the best one

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace helps us to identify frontend and backend issues which were impossible or time taking task for the operation team.

We identified many database and design level issues with the application using dynatrace.

  ### 24. Best APM tool in market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aninda M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

I used many APM tools in the past but DynaTrace is the market leader. Main difference with other APM tools is DynaTrace has backtracking features which I believe no other tools provides. I can easily and quickly find any performance root cause and save precious time for debugging and analyzing time.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

There is no way we can compare results in dashboard. We run release testing and created many DynaTrace dashboards for various matrix. However, there is no way I can compare results in dashboard.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

It's efficient tool to faster your release process and improve customer confidence by quickly identifying any performance issues.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Release Testing. We identified many issues in pre-prod before it goes to production.

  ### 25. Easy to use, difficult to master

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The ease of installation and implementation, and the sheer depth and insight that Dynatrace can provide to supported services and technologies.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The steep learning curve, how long it can take to find what you're looking for sometimes, and the severely lacking dashboard capabilities and tools. Dynatrace is doing a lot in terms of intangible benefits - culture change, more responsibility, greater visibility. But I find myself actively having to push users to use the tool, having to teach them how to use it myself, and having to evangelise the benefits it can provide before most people actually buy into it all and start seeing benefits themselves for using the product.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our largest problems are cultural - very much a "chuck it over the wall" mentality with several groups in our organisation. Dynatrace helps us bring down that wall piece by piece, letting our production support teams show software developers real tangible data concerning their apps in production. Developers are getting more insight into how their changes are impacting the customer and are starting to care more about how their code performs outside of our lower environments.

  ### 26. An invaluable tool that makes my job so much more efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The Davis AI gives us the ability to work on more meaningful work, rather than chasing down problem after problem. It also has drastically reduced our MTTR as well

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

We feel that some of the pricing models should be adjusted. Both the custom metrics and synthetic monitoring (On-prem only checks) are quite high. For example - When we are doing Synthetic checks witin our own Datacenter, we should not be charged the same as when doing checks using Dynatrace datacenters around the world.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Start small. Start using Dynatrace as a POC or on a smaller system (with real traffic). Seeing the tool work in your environment is like magic. You don't get the same feeling by seeing test data or screenshots, but your data being analyzed by Davis, then reporting a problem and determining the Root cause within minutes is amazing.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incresed application performance. Decreased MTTR when problems come up. Determining Root cause analysis has been so much faster and more accurate.

  ### 27. One Stop shop for all your APM needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

We started our journey with Dynatrace 10 years back and from then there was no looking back on the information that was needed to support the production incidents and performance testing. We have interacted with multiple APM vendors and in my experience dynatrace was one stop shop for all performance engineering needs. We are looking forward to the new features that are being added to the product roadmap and how its going to revolutionize the Performance monitoring and AIOPS space.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

None. All Looks good. The product is going in the right direction.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Just go for it!

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 28. Why not use Dynatrace to track your problems?

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

`I like the ability to see the all the ways to track a problem from end to end, using this has been a much better way to track those issues.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

`I would like to see that we could get this tracking on the HPUX as well to help in finding some of the issues we are getting on the `unix side as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

This is a monitoring system that can use AI to learn the system and then start to dream out your system for you, this is very helpful when you have over 65 different systems that are running and the need for up time is so valuable and customers can be effected with some of the outages that might happen.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are now using this to track the ability to resolve problems from slow response to just outages from web services that are not responding for us, now we can start to do full stack traces and locate issues from SQL to just some firewall rule that was put into place.

  ### 29. Dynatrace for Problem Solving

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2017

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Content of the topic, details related to concepts. The concept of agent less and UEM are the topics that are of most interesting.
With the implementation of AKAMAI and CDN the response time information from E2E users becomes more challenging. The analysis technique provided by Dynatrace have multifold advantages.
One of the most interesting feature of DT is PurePath. Gone are the days when we need to extract the logs across all the server nodes, midtier and DB stats and combine them to identify the root cause or the component that resulted in slow performance. Now since we have pure path we can quickly enhance our turnaround time to find the problem area.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Would prefer to have more of the video and image presentations where by new users are able to articulate in their work areas.
Being experience user I am able to get the analysis done pretty efficiently in DT Client where as in AppMon need more practice.

I would prefer to have more sensor and instrumentation flexibility on the Client machine for users using DT thick client. I do know that there are tradeoff of this but can we have some solution in this regards.

In terms of documentation we on Dynatrace university, I do feel if we can have a questionnaire after each module that will help us to evaluate our knowledge attainted after going through the videos and presentations.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

App Mon is new to us, went through the site on documentation. I would recommend if we can have continuation of DT client availability in parallel with app mon features.
More details as part of documentation is required on the site on topics related to Synthetic monitoring, UEM.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using DT for doing performance analysis for Client Trading application. The application is build on .Net Platform. The middle tier calls services where the major performance impacts are observed. We are able to identify the root cause of the problem thus providing shorter turn around time for developers to fix them.

  ### 30. Implementation was a breeze and integration was seemless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The ability to quickly identify and narrow down to the exact areas of issues. The tool has helped us identify various performance bottlenecks with the application. We were able to trace to the exact piece of code that was causing the maximum performance issues. We were also able to identify the issues with the application when used with various browsers. The pure path analysis is very helpful. The real user monitoring and session replays are essential to identifying the problem areas. The reporting done by business insights team is helpful each month.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I wish the tool capabilities can be extended to include network monitoring as well. This will allow end to end analysis and will reduce lot of time going back and forth between application, data center and networking teams

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Dynatrace is an amazing product that can be easily implemented. It can help identify performance issues in a quick and effective manner

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were having performance issues with one of our critical applications and decided to evaluate Dynatrace. The product fared well on technical and functional aspects. It helped us identify various performance bottlenecks with the application.

  ### 31. Noob likes what he sees, hopeful for future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

After attending a conference to better understand the product, I like the fact that there are so many use-cases that could potentially be helped.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Less a gripe about the product, but monitoring for a particular development language in general: not a fan of the fact that C++ applications require the agent to be referenced in their source. If I developed this application on my own, that wouldn't be a big deal, but I want to monitor an app that has been provided to me by a vendor - and they are unwilling to make changes to support the Dynatrace agent.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Be sure that automation of the platform (in terms of its consumption) is thought out up-front. Otherwise, it will be a huge barrier to adoption.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility into application-level problems. The capability to trace problems through multiple layers of the stack has been incredibly useful across development teams that are still somewhat siloed.

  ### 32. Dyntrace is great for application debugging

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The ability to get an easy to navigate tree telling you where in your application an issue is happening makes debugging much simpler. With Dynatrace I have been able to help our application teams quickly diagnose major productions issues. I was also able to quickly help debug some issues with applications in our cloud migration initiative.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace has a few restrictions that they don't document well such as limitation on API calls and SQL variables with the SaaS solution.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace is helping us to allow applications to quickly move to the cloud in our deployment pipeline. With Dynatrace we are able to quickly diagnose any issues that come up with application code.

  ### 33. Transitioning to DT (managed) from Appmon is VERY easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Oneagent is way easier than the old appmon agent and allows for very rapid deployment. There is no complicated setup, and it is extremely easy to script and deploy at scale. The Problem "dashlet" finds problems so quickly that it is initially difficult to believe how easy it was.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The tool prioritizes front end user experience. While this is fantastic for current companies, companies using legacy tech that rely heavily on server side monitoring will have a slightly harder time wrapping their head around the new tool. Old school alerting functionality needs work.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Dont overthink, embrace UEM, script EVERYTHING, make heavy use of the API.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace has allowed us to shed light into "it is a database problem" or "it is an esxi host" problem. There is no more guesswork or conflicting info from tools. there is no more pass the blame mentality. Dynatrace always has the right answer, and the entire rest of the call is simply waiting for that answer to sink in.

  ### 34. Looking forward to streamlining our troubleshooting process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron M. | Infrastructure Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The software is very intuitive. I don't have to waste time trying to find correlations between events. I spend more time fixing issues.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Nothing so far. I have never seen software do so much out of the box.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

It was said that the IT team will not grow, but the number of applications will grow exponentially. This software will enable you to grow and survive.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software allows us to detect slowness that isn't related to infrastructure, but rather related to poorly written queries. We have far fewer P1 calls with entities who are not responsible for remediation because we have a better idea of where the problem manifested.

  ### 35. Dynatrace the application most important in the market today

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen B. | Bachelor of Science - BS, Computer Science, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace seems very useful because it provides updates, it is very fast to configure and very easy to use. It also provides more in-depth information on container application monitoring unlike most other tools.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I do not like it is very less accessible for SMEs, also the most advanced functions are not very intuitive and need formal training and it does not integrate with legacy version systems.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Dynatrace greatly improves the efficiency of its implementations, the monitoring tools of these applications are first class in the industry. I also, Dynatrace is quite expensive, if you start a small and medium-sized company with budget limitations, you will most likely want to consider a simpler solution.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace is widely used by development teams throughout the organization to establish software development, the most practical use of Dynatrace is that code refining has become enormously efficient, faster and more accurate. In addition, Dynatrace is mostly used to monitor the productivity of several of our application environments, particularly in production

  ### 36. Dynatrace into the future

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan L. | Full Stack Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

I like how Dynatrace makes life easy for me with AIops. I used to spend hours slicing and dicing through data and investigating issues. Now, root cause analysis is done for me automatically.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I dislike the dashboarding interface. Its buggy when trying to place squares next to eachother and lacks customization options.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

If you need monitoring, get Dynatrace - you wont regret it.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solve issues to do with various air canada related apps. Common problems include issues with our check-in kiosks at airports. We actually get alerts for low paper on kiosks so we can get the airports to change them.

  ### 37. Product is great and easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica W. | Mechanical Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

My colleagues and I like an elegant, user-friendly interface to show you all that takes place in a program or operation.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

I would like to see more of the features that were present in this tool brought to Dynatrace, coming from an earlier version of AppMon. Several apps have been migrated to simplify our lives, but changes still need to be made.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

I believe that Dynatrace is the tool to be used for any company that is serious about controlling its costs and understanding the value that their application has.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used the previous version of the software and my team tried to make use of the cloud to provide a product that tracks on-prem applications and resides in AWS / Azure / etc. Dynatrace was only the obvious answer, and I helped to get my department on track at an early stage.

  ### 38. P1 Eliminator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2017

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

2019 was a great year for us and dynatrace. We moved from dynatrace legacy portal to dynatrace public cloud. In the mean time our company signed a bug APM contract with dynatrace. As a part of that, dynatrace built our own private clous and to access all components, we again moved to Cigna private cloud

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

there is none which I dislike about this

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

surely. If you are snot sure, first purchase a small contract, see the result and you would like to cover all the application

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Response time issue(slowness in page nevigations) experienced by external customer for all of our customer facing websites.

With the APM, we are able to do a very deep down analysis in our servers / JVMs and we can also able to download the piece of code with help of pure path

  ### 39. Easy to implement and use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis N. | Technical Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace help my customers to detect problems in a short time

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

My name is Luis Navia and Im consultant into dynatrace partner, only there are 2 funtionalities that could be better in a short time.
They could be include funtionalities like service quality reports into the dashboards

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Like partner We recomend use Dynatrace because in my expirience the customer solved all problem quickly and they dont waste a lot time investigating the root cause with Davis

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we are partners of Dynatrace, our customers solved problems with development and perfomance of applications, and benefits like discover all depedencies automatically

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Adjust the time zone when communicating with subject matter experts.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Attend, perform, and be inspired by how our peers implement the tool and understand the Dynatrace roadmap.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting the user experience and performance as it relates to revenue.
Time to resolution
Intuitive correlating alerts
AI intelligence enhancing efficiency

  ### 41. Dynatrace is Dynamite!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

From an Ops perspective, Dynatrace has more than exceeded out expectations. Gone are the days where Infrastructure was first to blame for everything - Dynatrace provides a clear visualization of where problems lie and even suggests possible resolution. Empowering our users - from devops to marketing; management to procurement- to self-service has also freed up resourcing that can be better spent elsewhere. So great!

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

When we inititally got Dynatrace the free logging features were great. Now, you have to ship logs to the cluster for full analysis at a cost. This is a show-stopper for us.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

see above notes

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Outages related to deployments/configs
the ability to prove end-to-end visibility to show when infrastructure is and isn't an issue
proactive site improvement based on waterfall analysis and seeing patterns
solving issues before the clients notice

  ### 42. Great monitoring capacity.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen W. | Sales Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace has the capacity to monitor and have tools such as PagerDuty, Slack. Its API has a lot of potential so I can integrate more apps. You can use it very easily.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Please give me more information about PurePath because it gives me a full statement of the reasons for the problem. It would be very helpful for the platform for small companies to use the synthetic monitoring option Dynatrace.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

If we want a clearer view of application performance, it is important. It allows us to prevent our clients knowing that applications have any issues and helps us to fix them internally on time. Dynastrace.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Dynatrace framework is able to adapt, as it provides solutions irrespective of the root of the problems like server calls, network traffic or client sessions. It gives us a lot of trained cloud surveillance tools.

  ### 43. Great product, but very expensive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Senior VP of DevOps, Xactware Solutions Inc, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Ease of deployment and updates is phenomenal. AI agent actually works vs just hype. Integration with AWS works great.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Really the only downside I've found is price. It's very expensive compared to others which means I wasn't able to monitor anything but prod and couldn't take advantage of features like RUM to the degree I would have preferred.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Make sure you understand your pricing going in from the beginning

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility, monitoring, alerting. Benefits of not having to update agents, pick different agents based on technology stacks, etc. Management zones make breaking things up easy.

  ### 44. Certified Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The aspect of Dynatrace that I like the most is the monitoring abilities of the tool.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The aspect of Dynatrace that could be most improved is implementing custom metrics. There is no way to limit the metrics instrumented. It just instruments them all. Need a way to limit this.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

My advice to others looking to implement DT would be to fully build out strings early as it will make life so much easier down the road.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving our RCA needs when it comes to finding out what the actual issue was of an incident. We are able to monitor and view transactions of applications as they are processed. This is extremely helpful when diagnosing issues that occur with an app. All monitoring being in one place is a realized benefit.

  ### 45. you need to monitor applications, use dynatrace

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sasha S. | Assistentin des CEOs, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace contains a topology view, contains an application monitoring, very important is that it identifies errors, as well as contains alerts and follow-ups, besides the real confidence of the captured data, it deepens the details for the resolution of event problems

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The reports are not very easy to use, nor can we draw a branching map with our private IPs, it does not contain good quality in terms of navigation between screens, the configuration is complex, I would like all these problems to be fixed

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

It is very suitable for web applications as well as to facilitate its use and has a great integration with several different tools, With PurePaths it contains the option to visualize all subsequent calls in a single call, in addition It is a dynamic and complete solution to monitor your own software Recommended platform

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace is used to monitor the critical services that my company provides and provides good support. As well as being used to help optimize performance and solve events.

  ### 46. New to Dynatrace

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

I appreciate the granularity that Dynatrace brings to optimize troubleshooting issues mainly around performance of our in-house applications. The product adds simplicity to dashboard presentation leveraging synthetics.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Some of the terminology or descriptions to use actions throw off when changes have been made or if additional actions need to be taken.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace is currently helping us monitor the performance of our application to improve our internal customers experience. It has helped identify corrections to application code and infrastructure capacity increases. The one issue we did have was implementing a capacity increase for our node cluster to our infrastructure to handle additional applications and it failed. Luckily there was no data loss. Currently trying to get a architect from Dynatrace to help review the implementation and correctly setup the node cluster.

  ### 47. Dynatrace is part of our every day monitoring..

Its little over head for our application but it is worth the value we are getting out of this product.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User visits, and if the user having any performance issues, and also we can collect information about the user behaviour.

  ### 48. Enterprise Monitoring - Bizops

  ### 49. A great product but confusing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

I like the detail that it goes to to show us our site's problems

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

It is confusing and misses some things. I don't always see the problems register. It could be because I'm in the middle of an Wildfly upgrade.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Talk to the vendor about it because it's confusing to set up

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a whole, my company likes Dynatrace a lot and uses it to find problems on our many servers.

I am not one of the pros who was trained on it, and I'm trying to use it to troubleshoot problems on one server that is moving from Wildfly 8 to 12 and I'm finding that it doesn't always display the problems I'm having. When it does, it gives a lot of information.

  ### 50. Interesting Tool with great features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Log monitoring, Integration with service now, pure path feature to trace logs

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The tool is more useful for operation team, me as a developer find only pure path , log monitoring as important feature. It more to be added which helps development stand point, that would be good.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynatrace:**

Good tool for log monitoring, pure path. And it used as SAAS at our company. we find many benefits, specially when we use kubernate for our applications.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Troubleshooting code issues. Trace back the logs using pure path. Creating dashboards.
