## Copado DevOps Reviews
  ### 1. Copado is a great devops tool to manage all deployments for Salesforce

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guillaume L. | Salesforce Technical Lead Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Great learning platform and great support. Using the tool correctly has really improved all of our deployments and fixed most conflicts.
What I like the most is if you are used in doing deployments using Metadata API (ANT) and already using git, the learning process it quite fast and the backend workes more or less like what you are already used to

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Like most tools today, if you don't do some training on the academy and read through documentation, it will cause major issues in development and deployment processes. The same as if you'd use Salesforce without knowing what you are doing. But if used correctly it's a great tool

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

I highly recommend Copado to support all kind of deployment/developement in Salesforce

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Able to automate deployments and apply different quality gates based on metadata being deployed.
- Really easy to manage back promotions to lower sandboxes in the pipeline (in fact, this is mandatory in order to avoid conflicts), which reduces a lot the need of sandbox refresh
- Easy to get all developers and admin to commit and submit their changes for deployment
- Ability enforce code review before deployment (with quality gates)
- Ability to use URL callout in deployment to automate deployment external to salesforce

  ### 2. I am working Copado for the past 5years and its been a great deployment tool i ever seen

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert K. | Principal Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

Easy to take forward. Code Less and we dont want to have any coding Hands on to rock in thiS. If we have the Devops knowledge that is suffice.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

I dont think there is something which i dislike. Everything really cool. If the rool back functionality is faciliated in a better way.. then everything will be cool.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we implimented the Copado CI/CD in our project and its really easy to accomplish and can impliment soon comparitvely any other Devops tools in the market.

  ### 3. Very Useful and User Friendly Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nirav S. | Lead Software Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

The best thing I like is, that I don't need to manage my repository anymore. Copado is taking care of that

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

I like all the functionality provided by Copado, the only thing that I didn't like is on the Component selection page there is no option to Select All the components as Retrieve only

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is beneficial in managing the different deployment cycles. Also, the best part is the Git Repository. Copaod is handling all those things and even Copado is providing the capability to migrate the standard value set as well as the Custom Settings. This is saving much time for deployments

  ### 4. Great DevSecOps application for multicloud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason R. | Principal Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Compliance and testing can be automated

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Early in the dev cycle and there is clear visibility for executive reporting.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code promotion, compliance checking, change management and code quality validation.

This tool has taken a very manual process and made it so that I can be confident in changes pushed to production.

  ### 5. Easy CI/CD for Enterprise environments with lot of teams and different Skill levels

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

I really like the way you can create promotions with Copado in a very short time.
I also like how fast is the retrieval now using the tool.
I like also the pipeline management features

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

I really don't like some limitations it has regarding retrieving metadata so that some files you need to get or all or nothing so that when multiple teams work onto the same is kind of difficult to coordinate

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

I think it is a very nice tool if you are in an enterprise level where some custom tools are short

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a very large environment with +120 user stories per monthly release so that merging all that together was always a big challenge to us. Our releases have changed to be a 2 day job to almost a half day job

  ### 6. Copado - The best DevOps and Release Management tool in the industry.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohan S. | Software Engineer (Salesforce Developer), Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado is a very comprehensive DevOps solution that has great features to customize it according to our requirements. It's doing the work of several tools together. I also love the Copado success community. There are sessions, webinars happening on certifications, conflict resolution, robotic process, etc.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Not much, there are regular updates that keeps the tool upto date with the new technologies. The integrations can be made more prompt and seamless. Otherwise, I don't have any complaints as such.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployment and code management across different orgs is very easy now. There's an easy process to maintain the orgs and see all the commits. We can also make changes and push them easily.

  ### 7. My experience using Copado Change Management across 5 orgs with various teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William A. | Release Engineer II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado is the most efficient way to group metadata changes into agile components (user stories / features), deploy those changes across a linear sandbox path, and track those changes with version control. I would say the thing I like best is that their branch management strategy has proven itself to be reliable and effective in multiple orgs with multiple teams. I know it works.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

The thing I like the best is also the thing I like the least. You really have to do things the way Copado intends for you to do them - if you deviate, things will not work they way you expect. The branching strategy is tightly coupled with the environments, and the environment pipeline is linear. Dev1 / Dev2 -> QA -> PreProd -> Prod is what they recommended to us and what we consistently fall back to. Anything else adds a layer of complexity that is inherent to Copado's branching strategy.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

Copado is easy to start using as a developer once everything is set up and running. From a release engineer's perspective, there is a pretty steep learning curve in terms of understanding how Copado is actually using the Salesforce Metadata API and it's branching strategy with Github.

The environment pipeline is linear, but the actual branching strategy is linear. A feature is committed to a clone from master, and that feature branch is deployed and re-deployed to each environment up the pipeline.

If your pipeline is Dev -> QA -> PreProd -> Prod, and you are deploying a profile from QA to PreProd, you are not deploying the profile as it exists in QA. You are deploying what was committed from Dev to your feature branch.

Wrapping my head around that concept was the single biggest change in my understanding and competence with Copado.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have accomplished the following with Copado:
- Switched from Orgs to GitHub as the source of truth for our codebase
- Aligned all of our metadata changes neatly to our agile sprint stories - each story is atomic with its own branch that can be deployed independently from other stories (most of the time)
- Significantly minimized frequency of refreshes by back deploying stories - our dev boxes always have the latest versions of components
- Have nightly backup jobs that take full snapshots of all our orgs and commit them to separate backup repositories
- Implemented a pull request process for our teams using connection behaviors

Next on our roadmap is integrating security scans, static code analysis, selenium testing, and test automation into our release process. We plan to do almost all of this through Copado in some way, even if it's just using url callouts to Jenkins as pre-deployments steps.

  ### 8. Fantastic Release Process and Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natasha B. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado offers a great user interface that makes it easy to navigate. The prompts and "todos" are well highlighted.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Some features can result in messy code merges, and are harder to find than expected, like modifying auto resolve picklists.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The complex pipeline we have, which contains hundreds of dev boxes and sit boxes all leading to the same prod.

It makes the whole process around deployments easy, and it can save you lot of time and manual labor.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Utkarsh S. | Salesforce Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado is a superb tool that salesforce CRM can use to deploy changes from one org to another Org. It has a pipeline that can push the changes to Repositories and to the various organization in a step-by-step way. It can be synced with ADO or JIRA from where the user stories can be picked . It is an automated process that will create repositories for each user story and will create pull requests to deploy the changes to the warehouse.
It Will create promotion records that can help get the info when and where the deployment is done. It has inbuilt tools such as PMD for static code analysis.
Copado had made the deployment process super easy. With a few clicks, you can moves changes from one level of org to above.
Restoration of changes is also straightforward and can be done in few clicks.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

There is literally nothing to say about dislike about Copado. One should have excellent knowledge to set up Copado and make the like easy for developers to deploy. There should be step by step guide for setup Copado.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

Yes, people who have already started using copado, it is complicated to switch back to tools like ANT, etc. It is definitely a must-try tool.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major problem solving is that is has made the deployment process super easy. With a few clicks, we can deploy our changes to the Next org and to the repositories.
It can be synced with Jira from where stories will be picked, and changes can be pushed just using the metadata of the changed file.
It has reduced the effort of deployment to 1% only.

  ### 17. Copado has helped Talktalk define our Salesforce DevOp's process

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

We often get random errors which shouldn't be happening and they sometimes cause problems with deployments

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

having effective code control and an automated low effort deployment process

  ### 18. Simplify change sets and make release days quick and easy.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Native change sets are slow so Copado is a huge time saver. Instead of searching by categories and profiles one by one, Copado let's you search the entire setup for your changes. You can easily add everything from sandbox in a few minutes without needing to reload or navigate to different pages.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

If you retroactively make updates after you have already built your change sets in Copado, it can take a little while for those modification dates to reach Copado. This needs to be instant but has taken up to 10 minutes for us. Copado also needs to add in the ability to add deletions to the change sets.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

The tool is quite expensive. Run a comparison against GearSet to see what your team needs before deciding.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to quickly find any changes we have made in sandbox and push to production is no longer a headache. Streamlining this process allows us to quickly and iteratively make changes between orgs. This allows us to be more dynamic as we have two sandboxes we test and try to keep in sync.

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado allows us to maintain a healthy Salesforce org by seamlessly syncing our multiple environments. It grants our small team the power to make changes quickly and effortlessly. The digital media landscape is constantly changing and we need to be able to keep up with new products and pricing models.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

We have not encountered a downside per se, but all users should actively seek out and apply new features and updates. The responsibility for remaining up to date on these changes lies with the user.

Copado helps us to release new features faster and more accurately. Copado has allowed us to quickly push new product additions through the testing and launch phases with only one Salesforce administrator. ### 28. This tool allowed us to bring flexibility and reliability to our Release Management process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick P. | Release Manager Team Leader, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Intégration between Jira and Copado, very helpfull
Easy to use for Salesforce good admin
Ease the merge conflict resolution
Automation easy to implement for Salesforce good developer
Regular update of Copado to incorporate new features
Nice Trailhead Copado program to ease product discovery
Data model complex but in line with Salesforce standard therfore easy to understand

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Comptabible with SFDX but not native
Conflict resolution to improve
Some manual activities on Git that could be automated
Requires an excellent level on Salesforce development for handling complex merge conflict
Require an Excellent level on GIT for handling complex merge conflict
Complex situation would probably require some time to get up to speed

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The project started with a Jenkins based internal solution. It was monolythic, slow, unreliable and non evolutive. We were havin a full package, containing the entire xlm of the solution. We couldn't deliver just a quick fix on a User Story.
Copado allowed to deliver US per US, at any time. It is now a pleasure to answer the business ans dev team we can deliver a emergency User story the same day. Pressure is now reverted to the business and Dev team, not anymore on our Release Management team.

  ### 29. Smooth, Simple and Fast

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarat C. | Associate Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

The way the deployment is scheduled using Pipelines and the method of conflict resolution is simple and quick. The metadata grid and way of deploying profiles, permission sets and custom metadata is very simple and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

The issues during Pull request creation and there is a delay in such issues being resolved by the Copado support team. If the support is quick I will rate it 10/10.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

It is simple to setup and use. If you are having a lot of teams working on a single master branch, i suggest copado since it is highly reliable and the merge conflicts that occur are easily resolved.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Conflicts resolution namely Merge conflicts resolution is one of the best in Copado.

Some conflicts are resolved by Copado internally and the work load on deployment team is reduced to a great extent. The way the Deployment errors are displayed also reduce the debugging time.

  ### 30. Copado: Future of Deployments

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

We can deploy different metadata types in one shot using its user story-centric deployment process.
It’s possible to merge the code of different developers by resolving the conflicts using the inbuild backend git tool before deploying to the environment.
We don’t need to create anything again and again to deploy the same changes to different environments.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Metadata issues.
Sometimes Copado takes a lot of time to deploy
If the Naming conventions are not taken care properly then we get weird errors

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is a new feature called Copado Continuous Deployment released through the Winter 20 release by Copado that allows us to deliver changes to production in a quick, safe and sustainable way by configuring the connections between environments that are connected in the deployment flow.

  ### 31. Copado - The next big thing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado has excellent UI and it makes it easy to work with. Imagine using ANT, ANT is a great deployment tool and really easy to use, the same goes for Copado, but it comes with a neat UI in it so it is much more user-friendly in a way and does not really require too much technical knowledge to get it running.

Seamless deployments are one of Copado's top-selling points and it surely is as long as you commit all the right components and their necessary dependencies.

It can be integrated with most version control tools which is great in managing your code and metadata. It is fairly easy to setup and give it half a day and you have multiple pipelines ready to use Copado.

They have a vast knowledge base and a good success community but if those do not help you with your issues, they have fast support response times and have a plethora of knowledgeable agents so do not fear if you encounter issues. They are willing and able to help.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Often times, Copado requires above-average technical knowledge in resolving problems under the hood. The usual route I take is if I can try to resolve it on my own, I try to do that first but if I cannot handle it I just have to create a support case, which is interesting as well as they tried to imitate Salesforce's case management but failed to add the CC option, which is a must in my case.

Another issue is regarding Einstein components, it might be a bit tricky but I guess the same sentiment goes for using change sets. I guess if the native Metadata API is having issues, it would not make sense for Copado to do any better since it is using Metadata API as well in deploying the metadata.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

If the budget fits your needs, this is a great investment and just consider the amount of time and money you will save using this tool.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copado is way better than using change sets, it saves a lot of time if you were to compare both and since it is still using Salesforce's Metadata API, it significantly saves a lot of time.

  ### 32. Copado - #1 Salesforce DevOps Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ealisha C. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

It provides an integrated solution for deploying our changes through the pipeline management and also takes care of the test runs, coverage and static code analysis so that we can monitor the health of out application before sending to production and lessen the risk of vulnerable code present in prod.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

- I have faced issues regarding merge conflicts like feature branch remains clean but the promotion branch introduces few extra code due to which deployment fails and we need to edit the promotion manually.
- Sometimes have noticed the problem of the changes getting deployed to the environment but the git sync doesn't happen properly and it needs to be taken care manually.
- In case the changes doesn't have any errors but there is some coverage issue, it fails with warning and doesn't list out the coverage issues in the deployment page. We need to manually check the deployment status in the destination org which is an extra burden.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

If you are a salesforce developer and have been looking for a DevOps solution for deploying your changes and at the same time is considerate about the health and quality of the changes getting deployed to your production, its the best solution. Provides ways to automate and integrate Copado with other tools. Its customer support and the updates/releases are smoother and any new feature requirement is also taken care through the portal. It engages its customers with not only providing a solution/tool but also taking care of our valuable feedback.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We generally use it to deploy our SF changes to higher orgs using Copado.
Benefits observed are:
- Provides test run to ensure the health of the solution getting deployed.
- Static code analysis and scoring brings out the vulnerability earlier to the production deployment.
- Easier and cost effective DevOps solution compared to other tools.
- Can automate the deployment process as well by creating the promotion and triggering the validation for multiple user stories before the actual deployment so as to reduce the risk of failure on the release day. Also, we can send the errors to the owner of the user story and they can fix and recommit the stories beforehand.

  ### 33. Great Salesforce DevOps Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph S. D. | Process Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

User stories allow for greater collaboration and visibility throughout the entire DevOps process. Pipeline Manager allows for clear visibility of where developments are deployed in the system landscape. Searching and locating components to bring into the change request is far superior than the tools provided by Salesforce. Using a git repository allows for clear snapshots of the system a certain points in time. The ability to make changes throughout the orgs without having to worry about accidentally bringing in a change from someone else is great to have.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

I wish the functionality of ClickDeploy (which is owned by Copado) for immediately seeing a visual representation of whether a change component is changed, same, new, etc. as the target org was brought into Copado. The error reporting could also be better; sometimes it's not entirely clear what exactly is wrong with the deployment and what needs to be done to correct it. I've had cases where the error that is reported does not make complete sense based on what I find in the git repository.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

Copado is a great DevOps option to consider if you are struggling with the tools (or lack thereof) provided by Salesforce.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copado helps to solve problems with the inadequate DevOps tools provided by Salesforce. The trackability, versioning, and collaboration provided by Copado helps all affected parties to stay up-to-date with the changes happening. I am able to more easily keep track of all of the changes that I'm working on and what I'm attempting to solve with the user story. Having versions of the change and being able to add or remove components to change is a lot better than having to clone and recreate change sets.

  ### 34. Very Good for User Experience

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

The functionalities I have used in Copado is all good. Till now I didn't feel any discomfort on using this tool for continuous deployment .

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

Yes, It is good for deployments from sandbox to sandbox and sandbox to production. We can track the components involved in each user story.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Copado for deployments. Moving from one sandbox to other sandbox and production is so easy to do.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angel R. | Salesforce Systems Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

The user interface and the ease of being able to find many standard object fields that are not viewable in change set.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Almost everything else. As an admin this tool is a nightmare to work with if you have no working knowledge of Git and repositories. You will get many issues that you would not using change sets

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to have a backup of all changes in Git to make developers lives easier.

  ### 36. Natively built best devops suite for Salesforce

Easily movement of metadata and data among pipeline orgs

  ### 37. I'm a COPADO heavy user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego S. | Coordenador de Sistemas, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

It is much easier to delivery new components, We are able to deploy much more components with less effort.
Much more control and reports about what we are deploying

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

It's not that easy to maintain all environment synced and it is not easy to look every changes in all environments.
We experienced some problems while moving profiles from environments.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

I strongly reccomend using COPADO, its an easy tool, offers a lot of control to deploy process, and guarantee a safe delivery in most of cases.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All deploy are much more controlled and monitored. We are deploying 6 times a week, handling small pieces of bussiness requirements

  ### 38. Copado for Salesforce DevOps - Highly Recommended!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will N. | Delivery Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado has been super helpful with the ease of setting up deployment pipelines and managing deployments at a user story level. Our consultants can commit changes to the repository through the familiar Salesforce interface and our Release managers can easily develop and deploy releases.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

The one area that I'd like to see additional support from Copado is around dependency management - if a commit is missing a key element, it won't show up until a validation is run - this is manageable if people are validating upon commit, but if something gets missed, it can cause issues with deployment down the line.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copado gives us a consistent deployment process across multiple clients that is linked directly to our user story development and delivery process - it's easy to trace where each user story is in the cycle. The provides better visibility to project managers and better traceability from requirements to delivery.

  ### 39. Invaluable tool

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado makes it simple to track where all work is within the deployment pipeline.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Some areas could still be further enhanced, but are constantly in development.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without Copado, I honestly don't know how we would track work through the pipeline and easily visualise which sandboxes contain each change.

  ### 40. Cloud deployments free of mistakes.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dilesh D. | Automation Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado's GUI is surprisingly simple and intuitive, providing an outstanding introduction to the deployment environment of your organisation, as well as helping you understand the condition of each environment and the steps required to organise it. I experience the effortless way you can adjust the input and daily field range. These areas must be used much more as developers are concerned. I appreciate the actuality that Copado helps you in different environments to share knowledge.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

We want to provide a lot more documentation on trustworthy communities so that designers can understand the types of metadata and components used to create their own stories. I decided to locate the proof more quickly, too.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

By providing creative original data, Copado can also support you.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By setting up Copado, we solve several problems. Versions, code analysis, writing, etc. All at one key location is easily controlled by developers and linked to the present programme. Simultaneously preserve the balance of yours. It will help us preserve development reliability through the capability of reviewing the release simultaneously as the software.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

sometimes it gets a little slow when creating promotion records

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we had long developer queues, and now deployments are faster and more agile

  ### 42. Saved us several times.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjib K. | Deep Learning Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

This tool saved us a few times. It does not merely make integration seamless to Git and Salesforce; it also creates change tracking easy as being a Salesforce application. All procedures taken are captured in the Salesforce object; through Salesforce reporting, it can monitor each information relating to communications. It's straightforward to include brand new orgs on the stream and also control the pipeline, anywhere other set up takes weeks.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

The approval process is made on Salesforce and is utilized by Copado in its process, so an object's endorsement can improve in seconds by clicking to configure Salesforce functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

People outside Salesforce do not know it. Thus it takes some time to understand that this's the very best tool altogether.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buy it; it is flexible and superb. Click for deployments configuration. Automating capacity as well as the merger that's been completed will immediately similarly save period. Syncs branch code that is excellent without a mechanical interference for monitoring purposes. If there are an issue and simple to monitor by Salesforce reporting, to browse and confirm the actual code utilized and reference number. It takes minutes to deploy operator history and establish a bundle with many teams/code source code. Many days have gone by. A number of user accounts are included in minutes to a deployment package.

  ### 43. Faciliated our deployment processes and made it visible for managers.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pushpendra S. | SAP Hybris Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

To be able to create deployment pipelines as well as handle deployments in the person level, Copado was very helpful. With the usual Salesforce interface, the consultants of ours are able to change the depot, and our release administrators could create and also deploy releases.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

One area I would like to find out extra Copado support pertains to the managing of dependency - if a dedicate is missing a crucial component it won't appear before a validation have been executed - this's workable, if folks validate a commit, however, if a track is lost, it is able to result in deployment issues in the series.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

Be sure that your product is understood and prepared to take some time to find out. The staff of yours also will have to strive to find out the platform, but as soon as it's been completed, you'll be surprised exactly how a lot easier deployments of product sales staff members can subsequently function as the regular method.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copado provides us a constant procedure of deployment across several buyers which is directly connected to the development of ours and delivery process - it's simple to trace the location of every user 's storey. This provides much better visibility & traceability from specifications to distribution for task managers.

  ### 44. Customer friendly tool for Salesforce deployment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dayo O. | Senior Release Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

I like that I don't have to log into a third party to do my salesforce deployment. It is also more user friendly because it uses the salesforce interface. I like the integration with Jira and Github, this makes my DevOps work more efficient

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

There are still some functionalities I think is very time consuming, an example is the ability to do rollbacks with just a click of a button, instead, the rollback process seam to be a series of deployment which makes it painful

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because we have people with varying technical skills on my team, Using Copado has been a good tool because almost everything that needs to be done is available on the Copado interface

  ### 45. Nice and Useful DevOps tool for SFDC

  ### 46. So far so good!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miranda S. M. | Salesforce Administrator/DevOps Engineer , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado's UI is clean and intuitive. The pipeline manager is a great bird eye's view of the org's deployment environments, helping you to understand the status of each environment and take action as needed to keep the environments in sync. I also like the ease of making changes to the layout for user stories and the amount of standard fields available. We definitely need to do a better job of leveraging those fields like developer. I also like that you can deploy data to different environments with Copado. There are a lot of features that we could utilize that seem out of the box

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Needs more documentation on the success community so that developers are able to understand the metadata type categories and other user story creation components. Also, would like to find documentation easier. There is an error message I get when a developer does not do a recommit on the feature branch. The error is something about a caching issue with Copado. When I try to research that error message I cannot find any good documentation.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

Be aware of the success community for copado and leverage it as much as possible. Also be sure to install in a dev sandbox for prototyping. Copado can also help you to provide seed data through the advanced data deployments.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving so many problems by optimizing Copado. Version control, sprints, releases, code review, etc. All of this is in a centralize place making it easier for developers to track the progress of their user stories and helps to achieve continuous deployment while maintaining stability. Visibility to release packages along with Validations helps us to keep production stable.

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

The flexibility and encapsulation of Devops features into a user friendly UI

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

Commit doesn't always do what is expected. Sometimes it requires a re-commit to get the repo updated correctly.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a Salesforce SI so we use Copado to provide consistent delivery and, since we started using Copado, have seen the time associated with deployments be greatly reduced.

  ### 48. Brining true DevOps to Salesforce

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richie L. | Business System Developer/Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

The ability to easily have Developers and admins use the same tool to make commits to a git repository for change management tracking.

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

There are a few metadata component that do not work as expected, and it is very difficult to revert a change once committed to a story.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

Make sure you understand the product and are willing to put in the time to learn it. It will also require your staff to put in the effort to learn the platform, but once it is done you will be amazed how much easier salesforce deployments can be then the standard method.

Definitely go through their courses online once you sign up, they will teach you pretty much everything you need to know.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a singular system for all of our admin/development team to work on and keep track of their work, as well as know exactly what is getting deployed when. Additionally provides great support for limiting individuals access to deploy to each environment.

**Official Response from Julia Roy:**

> Thank you for your review, we are glad that Copado has been able to help your team collaborate! We welcome product suggestions from our customers, feel free to submit an Idea in our customer community at success.copado.com.

  ### 49. A bit slow for larger orgs but improving every day

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalya M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Copado DevOps?**

Copado has some great features to give you a big-picture view of what's going on in a deployment:
-Quick and easy metadata selection - much easier than manually creating a package.xml and accidentally fat-fingering a name
- Ability to pull out a piece of functionality from a build (IF it was properly encapsulated as a story at creation time).
-Ability to report on what metadata is included in a release
- Integration with Github
- Ability to watch deployment progress even in higher orgs where users might not have an admin login
- Warnings about possible conflicts with other projects editing the same metadata
- Ability to deploy just a portion of a permission set or profile - this has been a big improvement for us over working with Ant/Jenkins
- In some cases Copado auto-resolves issues with a permission set referencing a non-existent field or object, though behavior doesn't seem to be consistent

Once our Copado success manager was informed of the issues we were encountering they were able to get us the support we needed to resolve issues quickly.

I have also seen a strong willingness on Copado's side to make improvements to the product to meet the needs of our enterprise-scale org

**What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?**

- The UI is painfully SLOW, even when doing a simple commit. In our particular implementation we were unable to use the command line so this might not be an issue for other orgs.
- Merge/conflict resolution logic seems to be hidden in a black box and sometimes does strange things. For example, we had one lightning page where we added a new component, and every time the page was recommitted another copy of the component was added to the deployment. Other times we observed a file would get truncated to where older code stopped and didn't pick up newer code.
- There is no way to remove a previously-committed item from a story without doing a full recommit of all elements. This has caused problems for us because by the time the need for a recommit is discovered, some of the metadata elements might have had additional changes made to them and we run the risk of prematurely committing new functionality
- during partial permission set deployment, some features don't deploy properly. We specifically noticed that Custom Metadata permissions do not deploy in a partial permission set
- Users without Copado licenses are not able to see any Copado objects, even in read-only mode. Because of the limited number of licenses available to teams, this creates a bottleneck for information sharing.
- Unable to deploy reports/dashboards in subfolders. This is a known issue that has been out there for some time and I don't know when it will get resolved.
- I wish Copado had a way to see dependencies for a committed component. For example, if I'm committing a lightning component I would love to be able to see what fields/apex classes are also needed for a successful deployment. Other tools in this space are capable of this but I don't think Copado is.

**Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:**

If you have more than one development team, or if your org is fairly complex, proceed with extreme caution. The tool looks great on paper but with a pipeline involving 10+ sandboxes, the results are often unpredicable and you may find yourself spending MORE time on deployment activities instead of less. If, on the other hand, you're currently using change sets and only have a few people making changes, Copado might be a great fit for you.

**What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The organization was attempting to manage a large org with 15+ separate development teams, each team with its own DEV and SIT sandbox.

Benefits seen:
- Ability to deploy only a portion of a permission set. In our past setup we often had problems with permission sets getting downgraded and removing access that used to exist
- Some ability to review possible conflicts between user stories
- Ability to pull out other projects' items and continue with the rest of the release in case of deployment problems

Challenges encountered:
- We still don't have a good understanding for determining what belongs in a user story, especially in situations where an item such as a flow gets edited multiple times for different user stories in a single release cycle. For example, in a recent release a lightning page was updated 10 different times to support 10 different user stories. If one or 2 of those stories had to be held back, I'm not confident that Copado would deploy the other 8 correctly.
- limited number of Copado licenses means many users don't have visibility into deployment status

The Copado team has been very helpful in getting us past challenges we've encountered. For this enterprise implementation the success manager pulled in Copado staff for daily meetings to ensure all issues we encountered were addressed. The team was also able to provide us with some updates to beta test in our environment to address some of the issues we saw.

For any enterprise org considering implementing the tool, I strongly recommend having a solid ramp-up plan in place that includes having sandboxes available for end-users that will mimic the ultimate production setup. Give users plenty of opportunities to practice with the product in more complex scenarios so they understand the tool.
