Good CI/CD solution for Salesforce & Vlocity Engagements **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Nilanjan M. | Senior Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2019 **What do you like best about Copado DevOps?** Ease of use to deploy components and the visual flow of the orgs connected in the deployment flow gives a very nice summary and idea of whats going on and in which org of Salesforce.This tool supports Vlocity components as well which is a new product w.r.t industry cloud and goes very well with salesforce clouds. **What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?** Still the product needs maturity on certain things like supporting Vlocity Industry cloud products specifically Order management components deployment & JIRA-COPADO integration setup (not too smooth after tokenized authentication enablment from JIRA) . The support professionals also seems to be not so trained and at times it takes several days to get them on a call. Vlocity being new product too, Vlocity recommends Copado as well, but several features of Vlocity is not supported fully by Coapdo and there is lot of tru and fro between Vlocity and Copado Support teams and as an implementation partner , we get crunched in between. **Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:** If you are using Salesforce , then excellent .If Vlocity Order management is in scope then needs thorough assessment as several features are not fully supported yet. **What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?** CI/CD pipeline is setup for our Salesforce/Vlocity solution for a telecom customer. Once successfully setup it would give a full view of the automated deployments and tests executed. This is integrated with bitbucket as well which is our code repository . The Copado is very easy to use and when fully setup will save lot of cost and efforts which usually takes several days to deploy any changes across the sandboxes to all the way till PROD. ### 5. I am at remote location and I don't have access to there hudson from my location, they had some securities. So every time when i develop something then i had to fire a mail to on site team to push to next environment. Copado should provide video for learning so every developer/deployment user can learn. **Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:** It's an easy tool for deployment, backup. We can validate our story changes before deploying into Production or next target org. We can also run our test class using Copado. Copado uses Git for deployment where we can track all our change and compare with other branches. Copado Get component when we create User Story. Once we create User Story we can see all changes and We can also see how many user working right now on deployment so using this we can check their changes. It completely encapsulates the intricacies of GIT. We had so much trouble with maintaining versions of our code and then we struggled with how not to overwrite each other's code. Copado made that very easy. I would love to recommend this product to everyone in Salesforce world. **What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?** I haven't found anything that I dislike about Copado. But there are few things can be done better ofcourse - For example, refresh metadata takes a long time. And the guys at Copado are fantastic to work with. **What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?** Coming from the admin side with only Change Set experience, the learning curve is steep, and there's lots to set up. Luckily Copado provides plenty of documentation, and they've put a robust system in place. If you're more on the DevOps side, you're probably more familiar with the terminology and it should be much easier for you to pick up. **Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:** Go through the documentation and the videos! The time you spend learning about the jargon, the Custom Objects, and the process, will go a long way towards getting you comfortable with the product. **What problems is Copado DevOps solving and how is that benefiting you?** If you're getting into release management like myself, you're probably familiar with Salesforce Change Sets and all the metadata that can't be moved over without additional migration tools. Copado has created a really cool way to manage all of that within Salesforce. Deployments and reversions are much easier to manage now. ### 39. Copado provides a controlled, reliable way to push your changes from environment to environment. Tracking who did what is easy, understanding user stories and exactly what is in them and what is going to move to the next environment is fantastic. **What do you dislike about Copado DevOps?** A bit of a learning curve but the documentation has improved considerably in the past year. At first we used regular Copado (Deployer?), much simpler to start with and got a lot of benefit right away getting off change sets. Later we added Copado Change Management with users stories and integrated Copado with Bitbucket using Copado Branch Management. It means we have all our metadata in a repository, which is fine, but it has slowed commits down considerably, which interrupts/pauses our workflow and has made us a great deal slower. To alleviate this we are looking at reducing which metadata we care enough about to track in a repo. **Recommendations to others considering Copado DevOps:** If you are coming from change sets you will be thrilled.
