What do you like best?

The software and interface is so user friendly that the learning curve is basically non existent for anyone who has operated a smart phone. It has all the needed functionality without being clunky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The software does not integrate with iOS. This is by far the largest drawback. Do not purchase this software if your facility is already set up with Apple products. Also, I could see the system being annoying for very large facilities. It is great for smaller bed facilities but may be too cumbersome for large bed practices. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Better documentation of resident care to do ease of point of care entry. Charting is more detailed and better organized. Nurses and care staff have more time to provide detailed notes because the software is easy to navigate and smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Without any prior or official training, Cerner was a breeze to jump into. Simple things, such as looking up patient info is easy to do. Options and functions are clearly labeled and extremely to easy to find. Charting is simply and straight forward. Being able to have our different care plans saved greatly improves efficiency which in turn improves the care focus on the patient. The complaints I've heard from co-workers all stemmed from co-workers not taking the time to set up themselves up for success to begin with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The downside that I've encountered most frequently seems to be more of a bug. Occasionally, when searching for a patient, it will return with no patient found, even if everything is correct. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Caretracker allows us to track program specifics for those we serve in an easy manner. By using touch screens and building intuitive question frameworks staff can easily document services provided. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

They aren't keeping up with technology. The kiosk app will only run with IE and no other browser. Why in this day and age is it not browser agnostic. It severely limits where we can utilize the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure it's a good fit. There are some limitations but mostly in the front end where staff need to use it. Reporting capabilities for the front end users has limitations as well. What do you like best?

I think Cerner is beneficial to every party involved within the senior housing industry. From the primary caretakers, the management team, and most importantly - the patients. This software helps connect everyone and keep everyone on the same page. The transparency amongst the groups is what makes this software so valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There wasn't much to dislike from the actual usage of the software. The software capabilities were very solid, however, I thought the interface could have used some improvement. I didn't feel it was very user friendly, and at times I had colleagues that were not sure how to do certain things. I think that in an industry where there are "elderly" people (including the people who are using the software), it should be easier to use itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I liked how everything was connected. It's helpful to be able to enter health info from patient charts, add appointments on the schedule and also use the information to generate reports for management. I also liked how the appointment will show on both the Clinician and the patient's schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes an appointment can be hiding if you don't have all the right criteria selected. It's nice to be able to filter appointments based on selected criteria, but annoying if an appointment is hiding on the books simply b/c it's at a different hospital/office. Not a major problem and easily fixed, but might be better if selected criteria was highlighted (and unselected appointments lightened) instead of making the rest of the week disappear. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Cerner solves the problem of reporting to different agencies (or internal management) that do auditing. It makes it easy to see if patients are actually lowering their blood sugar levels or losing weight as a result of taking classes- each status marker of health, such as blood sugar, cholesterol numbers, and cardiovascular events, can be statistically tracked. For example, with the click of a button, I could easily see that all patients under age 30 with type 2 diabetes were severely obese at 250 lbs or heavier. Not even one young patient with type 2 was at a healthy weight. I also could easily see the severity of co-morbidity of diseases for all diabetes patients, most of whom were on multiple medications, not only for diabetes. These types of statistics are useful in finding better ways to assist patients and prevent disease epidemics, such as diabetes and heart disease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

We were using this tool for a patient population made up of seniors. It was very user friendly and easy for this population to use. It allowed healthcare practitioners to quickly and easily monitor the health of their patients and thus, tailor their healthcare to better meet the needs of their patients. What do you dislike?

Although the program uses pictures to ascertain how patients are doing, patients noted that they felt the graphics to be overly simplistic and a bit childish at times. It was difficult for some patients to type out additional issues they were having with their health that didn't fit into a category of the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Although this is an easy tool for patients to use, do not make the assumption that patients will know how to use it correctly. It is a good idea to educate them on how to best use this tool so that it is helpful to the healthcare team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

At a longterm care facility, there are several patients and few healthcare professionals. This makes it difficult for healthcare staff to keep on top of the healthcare issues of the patients. We were using this tool as a means of tracking pertinent issues for patients and as a way to assist healthcare practitioners in alerting them which healthcare concerns they should follow up on with patients. There is the ability for lots of different disciplines to chart on things like med passing, food and fluid intake, edema, skin integrity, etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When trying to chart appropriately for state standards, some of the lack of integration between disciplines with data makes it difficult to pull the data effectively without having to do some double work Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As stated above, it does allow lots of different disciplines to document in one computer system and other disciplines to view this documentation. This does minimize the time it might take going between programs or using paper charting for certain elements like oral intake and skin. What do you like best?

What do you dislike?

I dislike that the software makes you change your password very often. I also don’t like how the bowel and bladder reports are pulled. The formatting leaves room for nursing errors. Some subjects like seizures require more documenting more information than is provided by the options to click on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s an easy a userfriendly software. It’s easy to train staff on Caretracker Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
