I like how it previews a patient's name, ID number, length of visit, and reason for the visit. I like how the entire history of the patient's appointments are listed in one place for an easy scroll through; it also lists who the provider is. **What do you dislike about Cerner CareTracker?** Some simple features could be added to make the interface even more accessible. One of which is a simple button on the main page to skip to the next day; instead of the way it is now, you have to click a button to get to a calendar and then select the day or the "next day button". It also would be helpful if you could drag appointments to change dates/times. **Recommendations to others considering Cerner CareTracker:** This is a solid system for appointment management and basic patient information. **What problems is Cerner CareTracker solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me keep tabs on patients. It's one of the tools for me to stay organized when patients have met with me, future appointments, contact information, and more. ### 2. It has all the needed functionality without being clunky. **What do you dislike about Cerner CareTracker?** The software does not integrate with iOS. This is by far the largest drawback. Do not purchase this software if your facility is already set up with Apple products. Also, I could see the system being annoying for very large facilities. It is great for smaller bed facilities but may be too cumbersome for large bed practices. **What problems is Cerner CareTracker solving and how is that benefiting you?** Better documentation of resident care to do ease of point of care entry. Charting is more detailed and better organized. Nurses and care staff have more time to provide detailed notes because the software is easy to navigate and smooth. ### 4. Simple things, such as looking up patient info is easy to do. Options and functions are clearly labeled and extremely to easy to find. Charting is simply and straight forward. Being able to have our different care plans saved greatly improves efficiency which in turn improves the care focus on the patient. The complaints I've heard from co-workers all stemmed from co-workers not taking the time to set up themselves up for success to begin with. **What do you dislike about Cerner CareTracker?** The downside that I've encountered most frequently seems to be more of a bug. Occasionally, when searching for a patient, it will return with no patient found, even if everything is correct. **Recommendations to others considering Cerner CareTracker:** Take your time and learn the ropes. Once the basics are learned, CareTracker is so easy to use. **What problems is Cerner CareTracker solving and how is that benefiting you?** Problems that have been solved have been more complete documentation and ensuring that patient focus is optimized. ### 5. By using touch screens and building intuitive question frameworks staff can easily document services provided. **What do you dislike about Cerner CareTracker?** They aren't keeping up with technology. The kiosk app will only run with IE and no other browser. Why in this day and age is it not browser agnostic. It severely limits where we can utilize the program. **Recommendations to others considering Cerner CareTracker:** Make sure it's a good fit. There are some limitations but mostly in the front end where staff need to use it. Reporting capabilities for the front end users has limitations as well. So if staff need to query any information at a kiosk type setup, don't count on that. **What problems is Cerner CareTracker solving and how is that benefiting you?** We track all service documentation for those we serve in our industry. It has allowed us to completely eliminate paper documentation. ### 6. From the primary caretakers, the management team, and most importantly - the patients. This software helps connect everyone and keep everyone on the same page. The transparency amongst the groups is what makes this software so valuable. **What do you dislike about Cerner CareTracker?** There wasn't much to dislike from the actual usage of the software. The software capabilities were very solid, however, I thought the interface could have used some improvement. I didn't feel it was very user friendly, and at times I had colleagues that were not sure how to do certain things. I think that in an industry where there are "elderly" people (including the people who are using the software), it should be easier to use itself. **What problems is Cerner CareTracker solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're solving communication issues mostly amongst people who are in our business. Now everyone is on the same page and it's easier to engage and act more efficiently because of it. The results have been tremendous. ### 7. It's helpful to be able to enter health info from patient charts, add appointments on the schedule and also use the information to generate reports for management. I also liked how the appointment will show on both the Clinician and the patient's schedule. **What do you dislike about Cerner CareTracker?** Sometimes an appointment can be hiding if you don't have all the right criteria selected. It's nice to be able to filter appointments based on selected criteria, but annoying if an appointment is hiding on the books simply b/c it's at a different hospital/office. Not a major problem and easily fixed, but might be better if selected criteria was highlighted (and unselected appointments lightened) instead of making the rest of the week disappear. **What problems is Cerner CareTracker solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cerner solves the problem of reporting to different agencies (or internal management) that do auditing. It makes it easy to see if patients are actually lowering their blood sugar levels or losing weight as a result of taking classes- each status marker of health, such as blood sugar, cholesterol numbers, and cardiovascular events, can be statistically tracked. For example, with the click of a button, I could easily see that all patients under age 30 with type 2 diabetes were severely obese at 250 lbs or heavier. Not even one young patient with type 2 was at a healthy weight. I also could easily see the severity of co-morbidity of diseases for all diabetes patients, most of whom were on multiple medications, not only for diabetes. These types of statistics are useful in finding better ways to assist patients and prevent disease epidemics, such as diabetes and heart disease. ### 8. It was very user friendly and easy for this population to use. It allowed healthcare practitioners to quickly and easily monitor the health of their patients and thus, tailor their healthcare to better meet the needs of their patients. **What do you dislike about Cerner CareTracker?** Although the program uses pictures to ascertain how patients are doing, patients noted that they felt the graphics to be overly simplistic and a bit childish at times. It was difficult for some patients to type out additional issues they were having with their health that didn't fit into a category of the software. **Recommendations to others considering Cerner CareTracker:** Although this is an easy tool for patients to use, do not make the assumption that patients will know how to use it correctly. It is a good idea to educate them on how to best use this tool so that it is helpful to the healthcare team. **What problems is Cerner CareTracker solving and how is that benefiting you?** At a longterm care facility, there are several patients and few healthcare professionals. This makes it difficult for healthcare staff to keep on top of the healthcare issues of the patients. We were using this tool as a means of tracking pertinent issues for patients and as a way to assist healthcare practitioners in alerting them which healthcare concerns they should follow up on with patients. ### 11.
