"Easy-to-Use, Highly Customizable Time-Off Management That Keeps Getting Better"
What do you like best about Sage HR?

The tool is very easy to use. The dashboard is well designed, so each user can clearly see their upcoming time off, as well as the time off scheduled for other colleagues. The level of customization is very granular, so you can choose exactly what each individual sees.

I also really like the approval setup. The ability to set individual or multiple approvers—and even have different approvers for different time-off policies—is amazing. One of the best features is the Recipes, which is basically an IF THIS THEN THAT concept. You can create custom recipes that get triggered and perform tasks, such as sending automatic emails when a certain type of leave is requested.

The APIs are available as well. We were able to use the API to build a custom widget for internal purposes to show who is out of the office and when they are due to return. I’ve been using it for over 5 years, and it just keeps getting better. It started off as CAKEHR, but with the acquisition of SAGE, the improvements have been even better.

Pricing is very reasonable. Whenever we’ve needed help from customer support, it’s been easy to reach them through the hovering chat box in the bottom-right of the screen, and our issues were resolved in a timely manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage HR?

The mobile app is somewhat limiting in terms of the experience you get compared with the web version. On mobile, you can get the bare minimum done, like requesting or approving leave, but for anything beyond that you’ll need to use the web experience. What do you like best about Sage HR?

I like the standardization of templates in Sage HR. When creating multiple templates or files, like in Excel, you risk losing consistency, and the wording might differ from one to the next. On Sage HR, it's all consistent as you basically just fill in the fields you set up. The HR modules and extra ESS capabilities were key factors for switching from Sage VIP Premier. Although there was quite a learning curve with the initial setup and it required a lot of work upfront, it was worth it because the more you do initially, the less you have to do later when it really counts. What do you dislike about Sage HR?

It's more aimed at large organizations, and we're smaller and more flexible, so contracting and performance reviews happen simultaneously to account for changes in the job, where I know contracting is intended to be at the start of a review period, not the end. So for me it often means redoing templates when the review period begins because last year's template is not relevant anymore. But that's not the system's fault. What do you like best about Sage HR?

I primarily use Sage HR for reimbursements, and it makes the entire process very smooth. I can easily upload my bills, submit claims, and track approvals directly in the app without any back-and-forth. What do you dislike about Sage HR?

One thing I dislike about Sage HR is that sometimes the app can feel a bit slow or clunky when uploading multiple documents at once. It can also be a little confusing to navigate certain menus at first until you get used to it. What do you like best about Sage HR?

I like Sage HR because it has the same format as Sage Intacct and Sage Construction Management, which we also use. The format similarity is valuable, especially since both Sage Construction Management and Sage HR auto sync with Sage Intacct once changes are made, allowing our main financial platform to update automatically. What do you dislike about Sage HR?

I think it would be a nice improvement to have certain things be automatically done, such as email reminders. Or it would be a big improvement if it could be our payroll processor, but with prevailing wage jobs, that task is likely too robust. Not much support after the initial setup but it was not bad at all. I would love to have a contact that I could just reach out to with questions (and not be charged for). What do you like best about Sage HR?

I appreciate the simplicity and ease of use, as well as the quick response from customer service. However, when it comes to resolving actual bugs that require attention from the development team, the process tends to be quite slow.

The implementation itself was straightforward, but I found that certain modules, such as Performance Review, are rather rigid. You have to adapt your processes to fit their structure in order to make them work effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage HR?

The development process feels slow, and there are persistent bugs that make the experience frustrating, such as being repeatedly prompted for 2FA authentication codes even though the option to remember them for 30 days is selected. I think the performance management module in Sage HR stands out for me. It's incredible how you can integrate manage employees onboarding process to the point when they leave the company. What do you dislike about Sage HR?

Sometimes the integration didn't work well, and it was a struggle to decide which system to start with, like whether to start with the payroll system for onboarding purposes, or employee management. The order of integration was a little bit ambiguous. Additionally the deployment of the workstation for the new users wasn't easy and was not user-friendly. What do you like best about Sage HR?

I really like Sage HR's user-friendly design. It makes managing HR tasks super simple. The holiday booking system is really handy, allowing me and my colleagues to request time off with just a few clicks. Also, being able to see my colleagues' availability helps with planning projects and meetings. Being able to see my colleagues is a nice touch too, adding a sense of community. What do you dislike about Sage HR?

Sage HR has plenty of useful features, though there are a few areas for improvement. The mobile app can sometimes be unresponsive and awkward to use rather than the desktop version. I would say that custom options for reports could be improved to better suit individual business needs. Also, the notification system could be more obvious and customizable to prevent missing updates.If these things were implemented I think this would improive the user experience of Sage HR.
