Buffer's pricing model is designed for creators and small teams who want to scale their social media presence without overpaying for unused features. The platform offers three tiers: a Free plan supporting up to three channels with 10 scheduled posts each, an Essentials plan at $5/month per channel with unlimited scheduling and advanced analytics, and a Team plan at $10/month per channel adding unlimited users, approval workflows, and custom permissions. Annual billing saves 20%. Nonprofit organizations receive a 50% discount on paid plans. Unlike enterprise-focused competitors with complex per-seat pricing, Buffer's per-channel model means costs scale with actual usage—and the average price per channel decreases as you add more accounts.

## Buffer Pricing FAQs

Generated using AI

Is Buffer free, or does it offer a free trial?

Yes. According to G2 data, Buffer offers a free plan with limited features. Users can upgrade to paid plans for additional capabilities. Visit the seller's official pricing page to compare plan options and features.

How much does Buffer cost in 2026?

According to G2 data, Buffer pricing in 2026 starts at $6.00 and can reach $100.00 depending on the selected plan. Pricing may vary based on billing terms or usage, so users should review the Buffer's official pricing page for the most current details.

Who is Buffer pricing best suited for?

According to G2 reviewers, Buffer's pricing is best suited for small businesses, individual creators, freelancers, and solopreneurs. The free plan draws strong praise from G2 users in marketing, nonprofits, and retail who manage just a few accounts. Buffer's Essentials plan appeals to solo professionals in industries like marketing and advertising who need unlimited scheduling without team features. Buffer's Team plan suits small marketing teams needing collaboration. G2 enterprise reviewers, particularly in IT and public relations, note Buffer feels too simplistic for complex workflows, suggesting Buffer's pricing structure is optimized for small-to-mid-market users rather than large organizations requiring advanced reporting or social listening capabilities.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Buffer?

Buffer's free plan supports 3 social accounts with a 10-post scheduling cap per account, which G2 reviewers frequently cite as the primary limitation driving upgrades. Buffer's paid Essentials plan, starting at $6.00/month per channel, removes the post cap and extends analytics history. Buffer's Team plan at $12.00/month adds unlimited user seats and collaboration tools, while Buffer's Agency plan at $100.00/month accommodates high-volume channel connections at a discount. G2 users on the free tier commonly note it works well for individuals and small operations, but teams needing collaboration features, deeper analytics, or more than 10 scheduled posts per account consistently find paid tiers necessary.

Is Buffer considered good value for its pricing?

Buffer's value perception is mixed but leans positive, particularly for small businesses and individuals. G2 reviewers consistently praise the free plan as genuinely useful, and the per-channel pricing starting at $6.00/month is frequently cited as affordable compared to competitors like Hootsuite. However, G2 users managing multiple social accounts note that costs escalate quickly, with several reviewers flagging that adding channels makes Buffer expensive for agencies and growing teams. Some G2 reviewers mention switching to alternatives like Loomly for better value. The overall 4.5/5 rating suggests most users feel Buffer delivers solid value, especially at entry-level tiers, though advanced analytics limitations temper enthusiasm among power users.

"My go-to app for basic social media management"

5/5

What do you like best about Buffer?

I've been using Buffer for years (free plan) to automate social media postings, and it's been working really well for basic features (without using advanced features or AI) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Buffer?

It's quite expensive to upgrade and use advanced features or AI Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?

Buffer helps draft and schedule social media posts, for one or two selected social media channels. It's rather basic, as a free plan, but easy to use. More social channels/posts and advanced features are available in higher tiers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and Clean, but Limited for Advanced Social Media Needs"

2.5/5

What do you like best about Buffer?

I really like Buffer because it’s simple and doesn’t try to do too much. The interface feels clean, scheduling posts is fast, and the analytics are straightforward to understand. It’s a great option if you want something lightweight and stress-free. The only downside is that it can feel a bit limited if you need more advanced features, but for everyday use it’s still a solid tool. 👍 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Buffer?

One thing I don’t like about Buffer is that it can feel a bit limited compared to other tools. Some more advanced features—like deeper analytics, competitor tracking, or additional automation—are either missing or only available on higher-tier plans. It’s great if you want something simple and straightforward, but as your needs grow, you may end up outgrowing it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Buffer solving and how is that benefiting you?

Buffer solves the challenge of managing multiple social media accounts while still posting consistently. Rather than logging into several platforms every day, I can plan and schedule everything in one place and have it publish automatically.

For me, that means real time savings, more consistent content, and an easier way to see what’s working through its simple analytics. Overall, it makes social media feel less stressful, more organized, and much easier to stay on top of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
