It should help me to build a chatbot, but I can't now after their bad support didn't help me.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

The app is good, but the CEO's constant bad decisions will bankrupt the company.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

I bought 3 license codes from this company in the spring of 2021 (though I shouldn't have) via AppSumo platform (botstar.com).

The Vietnamese startup developer behind Botstar and Chative.io defrauded his early investors, who transferred hundreds, even thousands of dollars to them through the AppSumo platform. The CEO has left the company on the brink of bankruptcy. When the SaaS launch was announced in spring 2021, the CEO already knew there was economic trouble and started developing a completely new project with his company, which was not validated. The AppSumo launch was a hype.
They did not communicate with early investor members in their FB group for more than 5 months. They promised many improvements on their roadmap but NONE of it materialized. Because they already knew then that BotStar would not be developed further.
They lied to us. On 22.10.2021 the CEO made an announcement that the whitelabel/agency construction will be discontinued and the development of chatbot automation will be put on the back burner. The main priority will be the live chat service (Chative.io). But that's not why we early investors bought this SaaS software. In company law, we call this knowingly deceiving consumers. If by some miracle you become their customer and vote them and their new product into your confidence, there is no guarantee that if this Vietnamese company goes bankrupt you will be compensated...
Do your own research. Look into the background of the company...

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

It can at least speak to website visitors manually.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

UPDATE 2022!!!!!
As a 2022 update, they took things a step further and renamed their product after abandoning it for over a year to call it "CHATTIVE" and literally dropping all the old accounts. Mind you website link works, the dashboard is the same, EVERYTHING IS THE SAME! They couldn't charge more unless they RETIRED the name botstar lol. That's what you get from these crooks so beware and by the way all of the past issues still stands lol.

UPDATE 2021!!!
They make having an SSL certificate so difficult. I've had other white labeled platforms but they are the only ones who force you to leave your current provider to find one to provide them with 3 CERTIFICATE FORMS! Yeah that wasn't fully thought out and now customers like myself have a white labeled subdomain that isn't secured. Not the best experience especially for agencies.

After using this program for a few months I can finally say that this platform is very bad and extremely clunky all around. My only suggestion is take a page from the Mobile Monkey platform to make the user experience better.

1. For starters, they have different programs that aren't finished for whatever reason that they refuse to fix. A good example is there appointment booking app, which allows the user to literally pick any day and time (am or pm) at that customers leisure.

2. With a team of 10+ people, we reviewed their youtube videos and all of their documentation in trying to navigate this app and let me tell you it feels like hours wasted. For example, everything is super vague in telling you what to do to achieve a specific function. Let me try to explain this better,  its like teaching someone how to bake a cake giving them the tools and say put that stuff together and put it in the oven. There very aware of this issue but the worst part is when you contact them they continue to give vague answers and its like pulling teeth trying to get them to tell you where everything is. 

3. Customer support is absolutely terrible. They have two people apparently working, only in the am (I'm eastern time) and for each question you have to wait for a response in one day. To make this worst, you never get the answer to your question so you spend an entire week or more trying to get a simple answer to a question. Another issue is that, every explanation is given to you as if you're one of their internal staff and you must know where everything is or they literally don't understand or know how to explain things OR really go step by step for where everything is.

4. There SSL certificates for subdomains are very bad. In order to have HTTPS for you subdomain, your provider must be able to generate a physical SSL certificate among a bunch of other documents. For starters, this is archaic and most providers give you DNS settings and you're good to go. We use WPengine and there recommendation is to leave them to use some random other companies to accommodate their platform. 

5. Email transactions don't work and the documentation is also vague, surprise surprise, and when asked to clarify the proper DNS settings their response is spend more on there documentation that they were told none of our devs knew what they were talking about and can only assume what to do with what was given to them but of course we also can't verify if something is done properly or get a proper response which I assume will be another week or more from the time of me me writing this review.

Just avoid and go with Mobile Monkey if you don't want headaches trust me its better in every way anyway.

I haven't solved anything and only getting more problems from them.

The app is great, unfortunately, the company doesn't stand by their promise. I purchased the app through AppSumo for a lifetime deal, but they are not holding up their end of the deal. They just announced they are changing the app to a new Live Chat app, and part of that transition includes lessening the benefits that I purchased through AppSumo. Not to mention all the time and effort I've put in creating the chatbot through their current app (BotStar)

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

The ease of use is definitely the biggest strength of this app. The drag and drop feature allows me to design the flow conveniently. Besides that, BotStar recently version that allows me to update CSV files is a feature I'm very satisfied with.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

BotStar is regularly updated, but it comes with some small bugs. Although not seriously affected, it is also a problem that developers need to pay attention to.

**Recommendations to others considering BotStar:**

Take some time to go through the step-by-step video tutorials. 
And you should have a flow chatbot idea on paper before doing it to make it easier to grasp what to do. A small note when planning design ideas is to focus on the CMS dataset first to avoid wasting time editing later.

**What problems is BotStar solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to BotStar, I was able to apply chatbot to some SMBs and clubs on campus, thereby developing my relationships and skills.
In addition, my family business has a lot of data in excel files. With the CSV files feature, I can synchronize the data quite quickly as well as easily edit it in the future.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

I like the live chat, and the chatbot engine is incredible. I can now help my clients via the customer private area with support information 24h a day, seven days a week, non-stop. Just incredibly well built, Botstar is a breeze to set up with ready-made templates too.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

I dislike nothing at the moment; the product does exactly what it advertises and some more.

**What problems is BotStar solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am helping my paying customers with live chat and chatbot via the private customer portal. That is the reason why I purchased Botstar for, and it has saved me an incredible amount of time and money already, not having to pay a customer support agent at crazy hours of the day.

I was planning to use BotStar for my clients and bought a lot of LifeTimeDeal licenses. But after collecting the money they notified the LTD community they discontinue the product.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

- I think the best aspect of BotStar is the ability of building a multilingual chatbot. I start an ecommerce business as a second job and have some online stores. 

- The multi-languages feature helps me spread my business worldwide. My online stores can sell my products to a large customer base across the globe. 

- Built-in CMS which supports me to showcase our product list for customers when shopping
online. My customers can see the image, description and price of a product. 

- Integration with Google Sheets and Zapier make chatbots easy to export data to the service to my existing CRM channels.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

The payment integration in chatbot is the only feature that I need more from BotStar. It's currently on dollar, not supporting other currencies

**Recommendations to others considering BotStar:**

If you start an e-commerce business and aren’t leveraging the power of multi-language chatbots then, you are missing out on a great opportunity to convert for your business.

**What problems is BotStar solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An e-commerce business is just a sidejob for me. So I cannot spend too much time on this. A multilingual chatbot is a great solution for me to increases geographical boundary reach, provide solution in users' native language and improve business ROI.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

The below are my personal thoughts after 6 months of using BotStar: 

- They have the best chatbot visual flow editor. It gives you an overview of all your works.
- Their built-in CMS is quite is perfect for S&M business  
- They offer 70+ free prebuilt Templates. Easy to clone and customize
- Integrate your chatbot directly with Google Sheet. No need to use and pay for any third-party services.
- They have Collaborators feature to share bots for my customers to co-manage

The overall experience with the platform is good so far, and also the support service.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

Stripe Integration and A/B testing are missing. However, I heard that it will be available in the near future and the developer team 
will do it soon. I'm waiting for these features to be done.

**Recommendations to others considering BotStar:**

I would like to recommend this to agencies or freelancers who are looking for a new method to maximize the Digital Marketing Packages for their customers.

I’m a freelancer. At that time, I was having a project of building chatbot for an online shopping site. I went online and searched chatbot for Websites and Messenger then I found BotStar. With their 70 templates from a variety of industries, it's useful for me to build chatbots for my project.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

I really like BotStar Modules and CMS features. The Modules allows me to group several related blocks, so that I can organize my chatbot better. 

I built a complex chatbot with many products. Thanks to CMS, I can manage and update my products easily and quickly. It’s automated, so I don’t have to worry about mixing up items or losing track of the menu.

They also have a new launch Webview feature. I read the documents about it and found it really interesting. Can’t wait to try it soon.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

As a young startup, BotStar does lack some features, for example payment integration. However, I can see that they have a clear roadmap. If they follow it, they will have all the potential unlock, I believe so.

**Recommendations to others considering BotStar:**

Anyone, from beginners to techies and agency, should definitely give it a try. Be warmed that there is a learning curve. However, if you really want to build bot, you’ll be into it!

I need a chatbot for my website. Thanks to the supporting documents, I can build a bot completely from scratch. Chatbot can handle very complicated conversations. Now every time people visit my website, they can navigate through it without my help.

- The Flow Editor allows you to build and publish a chatbot with a huge amount of features. Simply drag and drop blocks, add text and links, then you're good to go.
- Very useful tutorials and supporting documents.
- The support team is so helpful. They take care of me in every steps.

There's nothing much that I dislike about BotStar. However, if they change the text on their blogs to  be bigger and darker, it will improve the visibility and helps new users like me proceed quicker.

Highly recommend to everyone who's looking for an automated tool. Believe me, you're gonna love it!

I am a freelancer marketer who was looking for a smart communicating tool to my client - an online clothing brand. I got to know BotStar from one of my friends and excited to go for it. After trying a free version, I contacted the team to upgrade to the PRO one and used it for my customers.
BotStar chatbot helps automate the ordering process and handle requests' capacity the shop received everyday, especially when they run a promotional campaign. It increases the customer satisfaction and raises sales.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

What I like most about BotStar is their livechat support feature. This feature enables a place called Inbox to manage conversations from both Mesenger and Website. I am impressed with the ease at which BotStar is able to respond to the most popular of simple questions we get from our customers and we can choose the right time to handover the conversations if bot cannot handle tough, complex queries.  

BotStar was easy to integrate with our existing CRM with just a few clicks. It helps us collect and export our potential leads to CRM to manage them better.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

Sometimes chatbot doesn't give accurate answers to questions when users type any random
text. But we are still training for our chatbot to make it smarter. The more you train, the better chatbot becomes. 
We understand it's just a machine, it's hard to be as precise as a human.

It's great to automate answers to solve questions that a customer can repeat constantly. If you're looking for a tool to handle repetitive and simple questions as well as manage messages from both Messenger and Website, just give BotStar a try!

We are now able to leave our chat on 24/7, when previously we had limited hours (only working hours) for the Chat. We mainly use BotStar for lead generation and nurture automation inside of Facebook and Website.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

I love how easy it is to create a chatbot via the BotStar platform with drag and drop interface like mindmap and also the fact building a chatbot requires no technical background. BotStar helps reduce the chat workload faced by our sales team. We built a chatbot to collect feedback from our customers. 

Also, the built-in CMS system allows us to add in all of your content in advance, and then just pull it into a bot during creation so that we don't have to recreate it each time.

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

I would like to see an even easier way to be calculator based on bot variables using CMS feature. They already have great integrations but I would want to see more direct integrations with various tools without Zapier.

**Recommendations to others considering BotStar:**

BotStar is a great all-in-one automation messaging platform. They have a free version and lots of templates to start with. With the upgraded versions, you can custom the bot branding and do some programming to extend the abilities of your chatbot to higher level.

BotStar provides many templates, I picked the Feedback chatbot template and customized them a bit, insert some emojis to make it funny. It is very easy to learn and quick to implement a chatbot. After using feedback chatbot, we collected a lot of insightful feedback to improve the product quality and reduce the response time.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

It's easy to work with even a non tech person. Just simply login and select a Facebook page associated  with Facebook account and then publish chatbot on Messenger within minutes. BotStar builds 70 chatbot  templates from many industries. I have cloned a template and started editing text, images,... to design  my own chatbot quickly. BotStar also provides Zapier Integration, Integromat Integration to integrate chatbot with CRM to manage leads better. 

Great support! They were enthusiastic and patient with me.

Documentation is quite outdated because they have changed their UI/UX. However, I see that BotStar team keep updated the docs and keep us informed in their community.

I will recommend BotStar to those who are busy, have no coding skills and want to make chatbots for their businesses.

**What problems is BotStar solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating simple chatbots for the Facebook Messenger without coding. I don't have much time to build a chatbot from scratch, so I find a suitable template and start editing in BotStar Chatbot Templates. It helps me save a lot of time.

**What do you like best about BotStar?**

- BotStar has a wide range of features specifically designed to a marketer mindset. They have Campaigns and Broadcast that send out promotions and grow potential customers.
-         Its focus is on Messenger marketing with a core on Facebook Messenger, the platform with the biggest number of users out there
-         The newly launched Custom Webview allows you to show your web pages, Youtube videos or Google Maps to the customers right in the chat

**What do you dislike about BotStar?**

I wish I could copy paste the block into other Flow Editor page. I know it is due to the privacy, however, as I run multiple campaigns to my clients, duplicating and moving blocks to another campaign will save me a lot of time.

If you are a marketing enthusiast and want to engage customers and generating prospects, BotStar is the right fit for you!

Intuitive Interface with variety of blocks and actions to build a chatbot easily. It's not necessary to have a lot of experience to start designing. Besides, it can be integrated with many external services using API which makes it even more powerful for marketing and manage data.
Perfectly working.
User experience is too good.
Drag and drop UI.
Very good and strong community.
24/7 First class customer support.

Cannot select more than 1 block at the same time. This can take some time to reorganize chatbot. 
I want to be able to select multiple blocks at one time.

After building a chatbot, if you want some more advanced features, then BotStar is a good solution. There are some premium features to integrate with external services and CRM.

What benefits have me realized:

Easy to get a bot up & running. 
Also, I can extend the functionality by doing programming directly in the platform.
Make my work very easier.
Save time to customer support.
Mind-blowing Interface .
Custom Reply system.

Works perfectly when we are stay offline, Really its a amazing feature.
And many more powerful features have been added.

- A rich feature list that rivals the very best chat bot apps you could find in the market.
- Active community.
- I got direct responses from the CEO to my concerns.

There's not much to dislike about Botstar. Maybe make the text in the UI a bit bigger and darker - I personally prefer big, bold UI elements.

Give it a proper try for around 30 minutes. That should give you a good idea whether you want to stick with it.

**What problems is BotStar solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My business received hundreds of new requests from potential customers everyday on Facebook and the web site. With BotStar, we were able to answer 70% of the questions instantly without human involvement. It took us half a day to setup, and it has been working so reliably for almost a year now.
