**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

Ease of use, ever expanding app marketplace. If there's something you want to do that Bigcommerce doesn't do out of the box, there is probably an app that does it. Customer support is absolutely top notch. Always friendly and very knowledgeable. Implementation was handled by our developer but it has been a breese to use ever since.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Not as customizable as we'd like on certain features. It's good that you can get an app to do what you want, but then you have to pay for that app to do what should be done natively. Also the gift card system leaves a lot to be desired.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bigcommerce allows us to provide a straightforward shopping solution to our customers. The ease of use on the customer side has resulted in more repeat customers.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

Ease of use aside, Big Commerce has been an invaluable part of our growth. Its integration capabilities have been deployed seamlessly across a myriad of apps including Klaviyo, Search Spring and a multitude of other automation tools employed across the site which has been crucial in our being a low cost model. The platforms open API enables easy customisation allowing us a much clearer insight into customer behaviour and internal business performance. several features of BigCommerce have directly contributed to our business growth. The platform’s scalability, with its ability to handle high-volume transactions without sacrificing speed or performance, has been a game-changer as our business has expanded. Its inbuilt SEO tools and mobile optimization features have significantly improved our online visibility and search rankings. Plus, with BigCommerce’s advanced product management features and automation capabilities, we’ve been able to manage inventory and orders efficiently, helping us scale without increasing our team size an increasing costs.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

No issues thus far at all. A very responsive local team in case of any issues.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Big Commerce is our soruce of truth and the platform has been perfect for a low margin - high volume business like ours. Cost aside, we run our business on a split system with Big Commerce and an ERP platform. Big Commerce has proven tpo be easier to use for the team.

Integrates well with 3rd parties such as Google Analytics and various Microsoft extensions. Easy and effective statistics generation. The platform is easy to use and list/buy products.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Doesnt have as much control over pricing. 

Difficulties logging in with duo-authentication / difficult process for changing password after forgetting it. Customer support lacking.

BigCommerce is helping us reach out to a greater amount of customers that don't necessarily overlap with other commercial sa-as companies such as Shopify or Woocommerce. It helps us gain exposure across the market.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

Running a business and an online store is much less stressful using Bigcommerce, I have used Volusion and Shopify, and the most valued service that Bigcommerce offers that is next to none in comparison is the ability to reach out to their qualified tech support team for assistance whenever I am snagged by an issue I found or created. Having live tech support just a phone call away is very comforting on a busy day when you don't always have time to search for the correct documentation to help you solve a problem. Our customers also benefit from this service as it reduces the chance of downtime and errors during their shopping experience with us.

I enjoy the shared variants that allow us to reduce product listing data and ease of updating any changes to the function of how the variants are displayed and the ability to create custom rules for a specific variant such as price difference when selected.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Some of the backend functions like not being able to tag customers with a visual color-coded rating system to easily identify customers by their known customer service history - Good Egg Bad Egg. There are a few other things but they are small in the scheme of what makes Bigcommerce our preferred e-commerce platform.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us reach out to a global customer base and live human tech support is always there to help.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

Very robust Bigcommerce platform that is a great base with many many vendors out there that extend the platform.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Some items should not require a plugin, such as products in multiple categories needing a plugin to be able to be sorted in each Category. No backups included, need another plugin for that, etc

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bigcommerce allowed us to sell to different channels of consumors , such as B2C and also B2B. They have a modern architecture in the backend which makes it easily trainable for users.  The ability to use plugins to allow roll backs and such gives you piece of mind that if you mess up you can roll something back. There online live chat support has been very helpful and in most cases if I have to submit a ticket, it is answered that same day with a real answer not some copy and paste.

Coupon codes don't always work so we have to manually refund people.

Custom options can't be done. I would like some things moved around or set custom boxes and it makes it complicated.

It provides a lot of integration for ecommerce and I am able to get support whenever I can. The implentation is easy as clicking a few buttons and is super fast.

One of the things that I like about BigCommerce is that it provides a lot of integrations for ecommerce. And I'm able to access to support whenever I need help with something.

I think one of the things that I'm not a super fan of BigCommerce is the fact that I'm not able to immediately see the pricing, I would like to have an estimate before giving my information.

BigCommerce is primarily helping me solve how to get started with my eCommerce business, such as providing all the tools I need to get started. As a mere user, I feel that this is a good start for providing me with what I need.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

The cost and customizable website building platform that a small business to get a online presences started. It's SEO functionality for each page has been very helpful in building website traffic. The tech support is very responsive in helping to resolve any questions or issues you may have. I am not very tech savvy so this platform helps me complete a goal for my business without paying ridiculous amounts of money to accomplish what I need.

The customer groups should be across all tier levels, as well as save cart feature.

I was using a pre made cookie cutter website before switching to bigcommerce. Now I have better website traffic and more growth room, plus customization to help set us apart from others.

The SEO is setup really well to customize the URL's and also 301 redirects when things are altered. Fast store themes.

Minimal app choices and some are way to expensive. Would like to see more of a robust app store such as Shopify.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the V3 product layout way better than V2. Everything is on 1 page so makes it easier to find things that need to be filled out or edited. Makes listing products faster and easier. I also recently seen the new import/ export products setup and i am glad to see this as i'm not a fan of the old setup.

I like the ease that it brings to and for companies. Working on the backend helping companies do the grunt work while they focus on their customer service or other aspects of their business that needs improvement.

It's extremely streamlined and user friendly. I really like the one page add product template that allows everything to be done on one screen. The ability to sync my product catalog to Google shopping has been a huge game changer for our company. Honestly I have no plans to leave BigCommerce!

The mobile inventory could be easier. I have to use desktop version to adjust inventory which can be time consuming.

The template are well coded and lack any real issues for indexing our pages. They seem to work well for Googles Core Web Vitals, which as anyone knows it substantial!

The high costs of Magento and the limitations of the platform led me to explore alternative e-commerce solutions. Shopify was another option we considered, but it lacked the Multistore and B2B features that are essential for our business. BigCommerce stood out as a logical choice due to its robust features, scalability, and flexibility.

Data migration seems to be smooth and the option to host multi-store front. It is also easier to integrate it with a visualization tool like Tableau.

Pricing is not clear on the website unlike Shopify. You need to contact sales to receive a customized price quote. I'd like it better if they have listed their pricing plans clearly on their website.

I love the easy-to-use platform! I can make my small business look great, without having a whole team of computer people doing the heavy lifting. I've been using BigCommerce since 2013, and really appreciate the value that I get, the professionalism, the support, the options of integration... pretty much everything.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

They had an increase in my monthly costs within the past year... I had been paying pretty much the same thing for nearly 10 years, and was a bit flustered by the increase... But, honestly, the increase was still a GREAT BUY for what you get! That was just me being fussy.

They provide my small e-commerce business with a professional platform that makes my presence on the internet look great!

The ease of finding developers that are experienced with Big Commerce and the flexibility of the software environment.

The difficulty of vetting the developers that I spoke with.

We have a just in time business model and Big Commerce allows us to work our business model without redoing our busienss to match a software requirement. One of our prime requirements was that the software be flexibile enough to match our existing business. Big Commerce made this transition to online sales easy, not simple because we had to customize the software to meet our needs, but the software allowed us to do this.

Bigcommerce is giving us the tools to customize our sites and to have total control on all the interactions with customers and other businesses. 
Has great customer support. It's fairly easy to implement and create a website.

I wish some of the native integration with Meta and Amazon would work better.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

The free templates are nicely designed. The dashboard is generally easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Platform is extremely lacking. The whole business model is designed for you to download apps for basic functionality and therefore pay additional monthly fees. For instance, Do you want your products to randomly rotate on page refresh? Sure, you have to purchase an app to do that. Do you want set pick up in store only for specific products? Yep, you have to pay $75/month for that. Do you want realtime shipping quotes? Can't do that without an additional monthly fee. Finally, we noticed we were billed for the whole year. Unfortunately we caught it too late and they refused to refund us. So now we are stuck with a platform that won't do BASIC functionality without spending additional exorbitant fees. BigCommerce is the plague. Stay AWAY!

Unfortunately BigCommerce isn't solving any of our problems nor is it benefiting us. It is in fact harming us by locking us into an entire additional year with subpar functionality.

It is easy to use and works well for our basic retail business.  Great support!  Easy implementation from a Magento system.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

No as modifiable a Magento.  I would like some of the Magento features but I can live without them.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our shopping cart and sales reporting system.  It integrates well with Stamps.com and our Brain Tree.

Intuitive backend, fast updates, permanet updates on the plattform.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Exporting products doesn't  download all the product information such as HS code and availability info.
The variation option does not update the product dimensions, which is a problem for shipping cost calculation.

Allow us to take orders after hours and reach markets out of our proximity.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

Bigcommerce is a really good, reliable platform that we have been using for years (we are a toy retailer). 

As someone who uses the software on most days of the week, I find the interface well laid out, (in my opinion) pretty easy to use, and they always seem to be improving the software.

The support team are really good, and can usually help me when I need them to quickly and politely.

The ability for us to be able to suggest improvements and vote on others suggestions is really good, and there have been quite a lot of things that we have wanted, implemented into the software.

The app store also has tons of apps which are easy to install and use, which we have used to expand our reach to other marketplaces. Integrating with Bigcommerce this way is nice and simple.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

As a company with multiple stores online, I wish that Bigcommerce would add the following (because they don't have them currently):

The ability to have multiple click and collect locations without the need for additional apps.

The site search function is not bad, and seems to be on par with Shopify, however it would be nice for the seach to be natively more intuitive (like Doofinder) but without the need for another installation or subscriptions.

Finally, I think that all features should be allowed on all tiers, rather than saving some for the moire expensive tiers.

Bigcommerce has enabled us to create and maintain a good looking, professional online presence and even expand our reach and customer base.

It allows us to do all of this with a very small team and limited technical expertise ( we bought a theme so that we did not need to code anything).

At present, we are happy with Bigcommerce and are going to continue using it.

Big Commerce has given us more functionality, allowing us to grow our online presence over the last 3 years.  It is easy to use and is very reliable.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

It is hard to get an easy answer - you need to go to the community and "hope" someone else has raised the issue.  Also, we cannot arrange our items on a page to group items together, they just populate from when they were created - this doesn't always make a great presentation on the site. It makes it harder for the customer to see all like items together.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Big Commerce is totally intergrated with our Retail system Heartland.  OUr prior platform did not integrate and it made much more work, and possible customer service issues. This has allowed us to concerntrate on business building things such as SEO, etc.

Genuinely nothing. After moving to Bigcommerce all my Analytics stats went backwards.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

I used Bigcommerce for less than a year before realizing that all my stats from my wordpress website were going downhill... fast. I've since moved my site and things are going back to normal... Then I get hit with an annual subscription fee as apparently I hadn't cancelled it correctly. I messaged support to try and get a refund but they wouldn't give the money back even though I hadn't been using their services for a few months. Looking at the reviews below it's clear that it's because people are leaving them in droves. 

I still get messages from Wordpress saying they're about to charge my card for this or that service that I've signed up to and forgotten about... Which gives me time to go in an cancel the service before I'm charged. I'm genuinely shocked how bad Bigcommerce is as a platform - and how bad their customer service is as well.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. I've since moved to Shopify. If you're in any doubt - never choose Bigcommerce.

Easy to set up and list products for ecommerce retail. Doesn't require any technical knowledge.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

If you have physical locations, please read this so you do not end up in the same situation as ours. You absolutely should NOT integrate BigCommerce with a POS. Why? Because BC will consider all your B&M sales as ecommerce sales and you will get hit with an absolutely insane monthly/annual subscription fee. They refuse to distinguish between ecomm sales and B&M sales. This will make it virtually impossible to keep track of inventory between the store(s) and your ecommerce platform, which makes it useless for any ecomm+B&M retailer.

If B&M makes up any significant percentage of your revenue, look elsewhere for your ecomm platform. They claim they don't take a percentage of your sales, but their pricing structure is tiered based on sales volume, so it's just an end run around percentage-based sales. 

Also, there are a limited number of plugins so you are unable to easily customize with advanced features.  Want advanced shipping options? Well, either pay for a very expensive plugin, or you're out of luck.

You're stuck with whatever BigCommerce decides to develop, especially on the back end. Limited storefront design options available and product variation listings are pretty severly limited as to what you can do. This is all done on purpose to make it easy for non-technical people to use their platform.

Allows for quick ecommerce storefront setup. Users can add products quickly and start selling. However, this all comes at a significant price financially and flexibility.

We find the analytics on BigCommerce very easy to use and useful especially for tracking our social media engagement during a campaign - the abandoned cart feature is also very useful.

Up until now, the limitation with AfterPay but it seems like that is all about to change!

Very easy control over customer info, gst reports etc and the abandoned cart feature has increased our abandoned cart sales. Great to see where are sales channels are coming from and the percentage of each to know where to direct advertising spend.

What I like most about BigCommerce is the customer service it provides. It isn't like the other platforms that say they care for their consumers but only have email interface when faced with customer needs. BigCommerce is responsive and helpful with a human interaction. Not to mention that the user experience from a non-techonlogical web designer point of view is hands down the best! You combine these two things and I by far recommend this platfrom over any other platform.

Big Commerce has a lot of great features out of the box - there are many options for integrating 3rd party software, which is a very helpful thing as more and more solutions are becoming mre important and necessary for online retailers to connect and maintain. Using Big Commerce is fairly straightforward on the back end, and we have not havd many issues finding our way around the admin dashboard. Customer Support has been great - I meet monthly with our BC account rep, and he always has great feedback and advice on how we're doing, so I have found that their support has truly been of great value to us.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

We have experienced some pretty heavy pain points for our Wordpress headless implementation. While headless can be a great approach for some, our customizations have made our integration more difficult and much more costly than anticipated, so make sure to research this approach heavily before committing. For those using Big Commerce out of the box, the experience is going to be much smoother and I would highly recommend using the product this way (as opposed to headless) if your business does not have many unique checkout or web experience customizations.

BigCommerce has made it easier for our team to maintain our product catalog and update all of our banners and web content centered around promotions and weekly sales.

BigCommerce is very much that - big. The possibilities are nigh on endless, particularly when partnering with a development agency specialising in BC. There's clearly a drive by BC towards empowering their merchants to go global with lots of tools to make international selling easy. The platform itself is easy to use on a day to day basis, and the customer support is excellent with quick response times and largely quick solutions. The number of integrations with third party platforms is really quite impressive offering lots of choice.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Analytics could be more maleable. Sometimes the platform feels too powerful for our smaller side projects. Working with a development agency or having a developer on the team is very much required with BigCommerce - sometimes even what feel like the simplest of projects require a deep knowledge of APIs etc

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offering a singular platform to host our multiple brands. While we don't currently use MultiStore Front, we are looking at this.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

Our ecommerce business basically doubled overnight once our BigCommerce stores went live earlier this year.  SEO seems to be really good, we're able to create robust product listings with plenty of quality photos, video, etc.  We love the multistore platform as we have 5 websites and are able to sell across all of them with one backend experience.  No downtime that has ever been noticeable.  Our CSM has been very helpful.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

A lot of the options we need require separate subscription based apps which can add up quickly.  Some difficulties customizing some of the templates.  Some difficulties with some apps not being compatible with multistore.  My biggest frustration is in not being able to edit orders and have the payment amount adjust- we have to cancel an entire order if a customer wants to cancel or add an item, then wait a day to issue a refund and have the customer reorder.

The ability to run and sell from multiple ecommerce storefronts while managing from a single dashboard has been enormously helpful and time saving.

BigCommerce has been instrumental in our development since day 1. To TYLER'S, BigCommerce isn't just a SAAS platform, they're coaches, mentors, friends, and counselors. We're best at being a specialized retailer and have spent 40 years navigating the physical store side, but are still fairly young and new in the online world. BigCommerce helps us understand the mechanisms to be more competitive in the ecommerce space, which spills over into our stores through implementations directed towards an omnichannel experience. They know our goals and resolutions and even in the worst case scenario of not knowing the answer to something, they find someone who does.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

The mobile app is coming along but still has some work to be optimized and complete. I'm on the road a lot and always have to work off my phone so this will be a big win for me when everything is finalized.

Maintaining a lean E-commerce ecosystem with minimal development needs, omnichannel development, and Preffered Partner networking all contribute to our underlying ability to operate at scale without massive overhead.

What I like best are the incredibly well trained Support staff who are always available. I've worked on a number of platforms, and these folks really know their stuff!

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

Some of the ways in which product merchandising is managed could be improved to save merchants time. How do I add multiple products to the same category, or place multiple products on sale without visiting each product one by one? Other platforms make this basic product management much easier. Also, although there are many native features, some of them aren't very good and force merchants to improve upon them via apps (blog management and gift certificates to name a couple).

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy e-commerce storefront setup. The platform is stable and the support is great. Easy to integrate against other platforms like inventory management, ESP, and shipping tools, too.

I have to upgrade my websites to new versions sometimes because some things on the website have become obsolete.

It's built for novices but developers can still do a lot with it. Unless your catalog is humongous, you can also just base your BigCommerce store on WordPress instead if you're more familiar with that.

Sometimes the different settings can be hard to locate on the interface, and it comes with some default settings that we have to manually disable every time we are going to place an order.

**What do you like best about BigCommerce?**

On the rare instances that we have had an issue on Big Commerce, the support we have received has been top-notch.  The stability of the platform is the most important benefit we have gotten from Big Commerce, the store has never been down for any amount of time in the 18 or so months we have been using it.  Our previous experience with a different product was not the same.  We also were live less than 4 months after we made the decision to migrate to Big Commerce and we have around 5,000 SKUs on our site, so it ease of implementation and was huge for us.   We also have many different customer types from different b2b and b2c customers, so integrating our ERP seamlessly has been great.

**What do you dislike about BigCommerce?**

There needs to be a way for there to be 2 store owners, as only the store owner can perform certain functions.  This is nitpicking though, we honestly have no complaints.

**What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The stabiloity of our old platform was a major issue for us.  Big Commerce has been very stable and their support has been great.
