The interface is also well-designed, which made the initial setup very easy to implement. As soon as you're registered, you can start building the connections. Accessible from anywhere with sufficient security features built in. Regular updates with new features. - Easy to learn: you don't need to be an IT specialist to set-up connections. Someone with reasonable Excel (formula) skills can set up connections with quite complex transformations after dedicating 2-3 days self-training. - Collaborative: easy to share setups with other companies/people so the work does not have to be done twice. If you don't have sufficient resources to build connections yourself, you can easily outsource to externals and have them work in your environment directly or in their own environment and copy it over to yours afterwards - Transparant: whether you set up the connections and transformations yourself or have it done by someone else, you still remain "in control" since you have full access to the setup. There is no "black box" as is the case with other software where you always need to have changes done by (and wait for) the software supplier. The software is a feature rich B2B messaging platform that allowed us to accelerate our development and get live much quicker. I like how it relies on open technologies such as xpath for parsing xml and java simple date format for parsing/converting dates. Although its ideal when you have messages/events coming in and then need to send something out, it has a concept of lookup tables where you can store transient data as well. **What do you dislike about Babelway?** You have to know the open technologies upon which is relies. I.e. it will be much easier to use if you already know xPath. I imagine they may build more GUI around things like xPath to make it even more configurable in the future. **Recommendations to others considering Babelway:** You should greatly consider buy vs. build when building an ESB. We use the system for connecting our Cloud environment to the on premise ERP of the customers. So this was new to them in terms of pricing and structure. Babelway was very reliable, professional and knowledgeable. The concept of having one platform to interface your system with the rest of the world is very interresting. I'm now planning additional interfaces, with some other services, using json for example. A message seems to be a rather hard to define structure, for example we split messages, so we have one incoming transmission, 2 out going transmissions, this gets charged as 2 messages. **Recommendations to others considering Babelway:** Always read the billing small print and determine if costs are viable for you, also spend some time on the academy. **What problems is Babelway solving and how is that benefiting you?** Simplifying EDI across the organisation.
