The accessibility of the software on the cloud is a feature I greatly appreciate, as it allows me to work from home seamlessly and manage tasks whenever necessary. The integration with SPS Commerce has significantly improved our sales process automation, accelerating the process and increasing efficiency. Additionally, the auto-generation of invoices is extremely helpful. This feature saves us considerable time and minimizes the chances of errors, making our financial processes more reliable. I find it challenging to get technical assistance because it seems that different technicians are in charge of different aspects of the system. It can be hard to find the right person to speak with. It is a true SaaS solution that is easy to manage. It has several features that are unique to the food and beverage industry already customized into Business Central. In our fast-paced environment, this made Aptean F&B a natural choice to consolidate our current environment containing multiple ERP systems down to a single ERP.

With multiple ERP systems, to minimize risk, the business took the approach of integrating AP and AR from our legacy ERP systems into Aptean F&B. While the development team did an excellent job accommodating our unique requirements, I believe Aptean fell short in helping us manage the overall project. From the start, it was clear this was not a standard implementation, yet the approach relied too heavily on a cookie-cutter project management and implementation plan.

The biggest gaps were in fully understanding our goals, conducting thorough requirement gathering, and guiding us on how Aptean F&B could best be utilized to achieve those goals—while also identifying potential gaps early in the process.

Visibility, efficiency and flow of work. Having a centralized platform for our financial and production allows our teams to work with the same set of data. Our organization implemented Aptean on a very short timeline. This resulted in not having a great amount of training and testing. Every business has it’s own unique challenges and requirements. It is nearly impossible to find an ERP system that addresses every need of the business. With that in mind, we discovered limitations in the system’s quality management functionality, as the system’s base functionality does not allow users to assign hold statuses to individual license plates (only entire lots or sublots). Aptean was able to develop this custom functionality for us, and it fits our needs quite well. Other areas in which we noticed limitations include custom report writing. While the system is closely related to PowerBI, only a few of the reports available out-of-the-box were able to replace our existing reports. As is the case with every other system, Aptean Food & Beverage will occasionally yield some bugs.
