Having used EPIC, Cerner and Allsctipts, in my opinion, the ability to communicate information about the patient through Allscripts is hand down the best EHR I have used. The ability to populate a note on the patients chart to help communicate important items for the patient such as financial items, allergies, personal details about the patient that might help staff help the patient without having to dig through the patients chart to find information. The charge entry and reconciliation process is way easier in Allscripts. Reports were way easier to run to see how your practice is doing financially is way better. What I like most about Allscripts is that it is integrated with the medical records for our entire facility. Previously, I have worked with paper referrals, medical records, and medication lists.
