Customer education software, also known as customer training software, is designed to deliver educational content to customers and other external audiences. Customer education platforms are used to improve the overall customer experience by providing information around product onboarding, product training, technical support, etc., resulting in reduced customer support asks. Sales and customer success teams use these platforms to improve product adoption, customer satisfaction (i.e., NPS scores), customer retention and loyalty, as well as revenue expansion.

Unlike learning management systems (LMS) and corporate learning management systems, customer education platforms are focused on providing educational content and training to external clients, and often integrate with other customer-focused software such as CRM software, marketing automation software, customer success software, and help desk software.
