Uncommon Giving

Uncommon Giving is a corporate social responsibility platform that runs three programs in one system: corporate grants management, employee giving with donation matching, and employee volunteering. Grants and the employee programs are sold separately, so a company can buy either one on its own or run both on the same platform. Corporate grants management. Uncommon Giving Grants covers the full grant lifecycle: a branded public application form, automated 501(c)(3) eligibility and compliance screening before an application reaches a reviewer, multi-evaluator scoring against a shared rubric with scores rolling up for comparison, approval routing that follows the real decision chain, budget tracking of committed versus disbursed dollars, disbursement, and grantee reporting collection. Uncommon Giving takes 0% of grant dollars disbursed, so 100% of every grant reaches the grantee. Grants management starts at $2,400 per year. Employee giving and donation matching. Each employee gets a giving account that functions as a donor-advised fund and keeps their giving history in one place. Employees donate to more than 1.5 million verified US nonprofits, give through payroll deduction (US), and respond to matching campaigns and disaster relief drives. Tax receipting is handled in platform through Uncommon Charitable, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3). Administrators configure match ratios, caps, eligible-cause rules, and approval logic. Employee volunteering. Event creation, sign-ups and shift management, volunteer hour and volunteer time off (VTO) tracking, dollars-for-doers volunteer grants, and team volunteering experiences through the Visit.org partnership. Employee giving and volunteering start at $5,000 per year. Companies that run a corporate foundation alongside an employee program usually operate two disconnected systems and reconcile them by hand for board and impact reporting. Uncommon Giving reports grant dollars, employee donations, match spend, and volunteer hours together, so total community investment comes out of one place. Implementation takes about two weeks, and there are no implementation fees. Disbursements to nonprofits go out twice monthly. International grantmaking and giving have been supported since 2024 through the UK Online Giving Foundation, using equivalency determination and settling in US dollars. Integrations cover SSO, HRIS, and payroll for employee roster, eligibility, and payroll deduction, plus Slack, and DonateStock for stock and crypto donations. The platform is available in English, French, and Spanish. Uncommon Giving was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina. Customers include TOMS, RLI Insurance, and Bloomerang. It is built for mid-market companies that want an enterprise-grade program without an enterprise price or an enterprise rollout. Enterprise CSR suites commonly run $45,000 to $100,000 per year plus a setup fee.
