**What do you like best about Vena?**

I really appreciate that with Vena, we don’t have to manage version control, and it serves as a source of truth. This feature has led to fewer errors, which is crucial given the many accounts we manage. I also rated Vena a 9 out of 10 for likelihood to recommend.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

Sometimes templates are slow to open. At times it’s not as user friendly.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vena to track budgets, actuals, and commitments, which reduces errors and eliminates managing version control. It's a source of truth with many accounts.

 ### 2. Streamlines Reporting with Speed and Reliability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AJ F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I use Vena for planning, reporting, and consolidations. I appreciate how it streamlines reporting and consolidations, which has eliminated steps it took to get data ready for reporting. I like the speed and reliability of Vena, and it's always innovating. The initial setup was easy for my team.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

I feel like my knowledge is more of a limitation than Vena itself. It would be great to enhance Vena through more customer training.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vena streamlines reporting and consolidations, eliminating steps needed to prepare data for reporting.

 ### 3. Streamlined Financial Reporting with Excel-Like Functionality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I like the ability to render reports fairly automatically and have a consistent look and feel when presenting to our campus budget managers. I do, though, like the introduction of PowerPoint in Vena and we'll be seeing how we might be able to leverage that new tool. The initial setup went very well, and the consultants at Vena were very helpful and prompt in their response times. We were set up and ready to go in short order to begin reporting to our campus. Vena is very helpful in the area of financial reporting and analysis, and all the functionality of Excel presents itself in Vena such that if you know how to use Excel well, then you're far ahead and ready to go to begin using Vena to deploy in your organization.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

I think what could be improved is a feature where the intersections that combine into a cell could be more easily displayed as a formula like in Excel so that you can backwards check numbers and tie to published reports just by looking at the consistency of the formulas.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vena helps us manage analysis and financial reporting by allowing multiple levels of hierarchies and dimensions, blending registration and financial data. I like how it renders reports automatically and ensures a consistent look when presenting to budget managers.

**What do you like best about Vena?**

The ease of use with Vena, especially how it leverages Excel. The logical mappings helps keep the behind the scenes management from IT to a minimum and ensures that the FP&A team can make updates as needed.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

There are a few small features that would be nice to have with Vena, but do not hinder from using it efficiently. One main feature that would be nice to have is a back / undo button when mapping.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiencies, Ease of Updating Reporting Packages

 ### 5. Effortless Financial Reporting, Needs More GL Flexibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I use Vena for financial reporting. I like that it automates a lot of small things, which is helpful. I appreciate being able to update everything with one click, and I think the dynamic mapping is also really useful.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

It can be rigid based on how GLs are structured, so maybe more flexibility with grouping GL accounts.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vena for financial reporting. It automates a lot of small things, which is helpful and allows me to update everything with one click.

I love the form flexibilty where the data and workflow is hosted in a data warehouse and through their online portal, but the end-user UI is Microsoft Excel.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

The back-end setup and configuration can be a little daunting for a non-technical person. They do have amazing training resources, but you do need to have a technical background for building out the modeling and report templates.

What I value most about Vena is its flexibility. Being Excel-based, it supports seamless write-back of both numerical data and text, while also making updates efficient through easy formula changes.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

I can not think of many downsides of using Vena other than having to train new users on how to access their tasks instead of going to a shared drive.

The mapping is very challenging and there's a steep learning curve to it. The initial setup of Vena was also very difficult for our team.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vena for quicker closing and better forecasting.

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Vena?**

Versatility: Excel interface is reassuring for stakeholders, especially beyond the FP&A team. We have been using Vena for seven years now and we gradually implement new features when they became available. We recently finished the implementation of the accounting close and consolidation modules. We got a great after sales services. Participation to experts' community events also help tremendously to keep abreast with the product development and best practice.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

This is an expert system. The calibration and successful roll out it depend on (Vena) expert ressources. Once it is properly calibrated and tested the internal adhesion should be easier.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cut production time in our core financial processes (budget, actual, forecast). Increase reliability of data (one source of true).

 ### 14. Reliable Financial Consolidation and Planning Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I find Vena to be incredibly stable and easy to use, which gives me a reliable feeling when working with the platform. As we handle financial data for a listed company, it's crucial that our tools deliver dependable performance, and Vena excels in this area. I particularly appreciate Vena's hands-on nature and its seamless integration with Microsoft Excel, which makes it an ideal tool for managing and consolidating our financial data effectively. Additionally, Vena has proven valuable for gathering both financial and other forms of data from our various subsidiaries, allowing for efficient consolidation and planning. I've experienced a smooth implementation process with Vena, with no issues during setup, which speaks to its user-friendliness and effective onboarding procedures. Overall, Vena's capabilities and ease of use make it an indispensable tool in our financial management processes.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

I find the lack of a real consolidation solution in Vena to be a limitation. Currently, we have to use Vena in conjunction with the Fluence add-on to achieve full consolidation capabilities. It would be more efficient and convenient if Vena could incorporate consolidation rules within the same tool, eliminating the need for an additional add-on and making it a comprehensive solution.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vena for consolidating financial data from subsidiaries, providing a reliable tool for increased information needs, aiding in stable, easy planning, and integrating seamlessly with MS Excel.

 ### 15. Efficient Financial Management But Challenging Setup

I like that Vena ties into Excel, making it easy to use. It speeds up processes by reducing manual entry and duplication of efforts.

I use Vena for financial consolidation and analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. It speeds up processes by reducing manual entry and duplication of efforts.

 ### 16. Streamlined Data Management with Ease

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I like being able to find information quickly and easily with Vena. The mapping/cube system makes it easy to get information on many different reports, allowing the same information to show up on multiple reports without having to reference other spreadsheets. I appreciate the choose function when opening a report or input template, which is useful.

This is more of an Excel limitation. But generally how text boxes work.

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I really like how much investment is going into the technology. Vena is rolling out AI agents to assist in financial processes

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

So far, we are pretty new at using vena. We are rolling out vena this year for the first time. We do not have dislikes at the moment

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vena is helping me automate completenesss and accuracy during the monthly close

 ### 18. Software that Simply works for Finance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Vena?**

Vena does a great job at organizing your data into a simple database format. Your data can be complex, but with Vena, it's easy to draw it down and organize it into ways that make sense. FP&A is now easier and our processes sped up.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

The learning curve and more advanced building processes can be tough to wrap your head around at first. Setting up your own template and making mistakes will help you learn sooner as you work with your Implementation manager and the customer support team.

**Recommendations to others considering Vena:**

Work hard in your implementation to set up some of your own templates so you know how the software works.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a very slow and painful close process as well as issues with memory space on previous software solutions. We've now cut our monthly close process on the FP&A side down from 2 weeks to 2 days.

 ### 19. User Friendly that is Excel Based

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I like how user friendly Vena is. You can pick up the logic quickly and the best part is it’s excel based.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

Some of the load times on reports can get quite significant, especially when there is a lot of data.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vena is solving month end reporting and also bringing in a lot of statistical analysis that I used to do offline.

 ### 20. Successful user of Vena for 5 years

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Vena?**

For context, we use Vena primarily for our management accounts - we have reports set up that refresh monthly and are where our budget holders access to review their financials as part of monthly meetings with the Finance Business Partners. We also use Vena to forecast quarterly and complete our annual budget

One of the best things about Vena for me is it gives us and our budget holders one source of truth
It also gives us a simple way of monitoring process adherence /completion for our quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
We use a download of Vena data as a data feed in a number of other reports we use across our team - we find it a really helpful data source
It provides a robust audit trail if there are ever challenges about where a number came from / what / who changed a figure
Our staffing allocation process is complex and with help from our wonderful implementation consultant we have got a great process for budgeting and forecasting our staff and all the recharges we do
The Income and expenditure templates that we use for budgeting and forecasting work well for us - they are easy for budget holders to engage with and input into
We find that we can amend and fix stuff without lots of technical skills, adding new users / changing permissions is quite straight forward and the hierarchies/ data structures are logical

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

Line item details functionality is overall really good, we love that option to add more detail for an account code but it has also caused us some issues in the past with errors or incorrect summing as a result and we have to be careful to do it correctly when we seed templates with data
We have had some issues with some vena users in our organisation who use macbooks - we find Vena doesn’t work well in a number of ways for them
Loading times can feel a bit slow at times - we do have a lot of staffing data so these templates we understand they take time to load, but more generally at times the opening up of standard templates can be longer than we’d like

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me one source of the truth and robust data with minimal intervention required for my Finance Business Partnering team to use with their budget holders each month - avoiding them preparing different reports

 ### 21. Streamlined Forecasting with Excel Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Costas K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I like Vena for its simplicity and the ability to work on an Excel base while transferring data to Vena. It takes less time to consolidate data and generate reports. It's also easier and faster to transfer data using formulas since I gather data from other systems. The initial setup of Vena was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

We have discussed this with our IT to change the order of rows in order to make transferring the data easier.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vena solves forecasting issues, preventing overstocking or understocking, and eases data consolidation and reporting with its Excel integration, saving me time and simplifying my workflow.

 ### 22. Boosts Financial Processes with Minor Lag Time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerri B.

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I appreciate how Vena simplifies financial reporting, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting by allowing easy conversion of information into management-specific templates. It streamlines the sharing of actual data with end users and compiles inputs from users across the company efficiently, providing audit trails for tracking purposes. I find Vena extremely user-friendly, which enhances the overall experience for me and other end users. Its integration with Excel makes the system particularly easy for us to adopt and leverage to its full potential. The initial setup of Vena was relatively straightforward, requiring just a commitment of time, which contributes positively to my impression of the platform.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

Sometimes the data or templates can be slow to load, and there is some training involved for admin users.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vena to convert data into templates easily, share actual data with users, and compile company-wide inputs with audit trails, enhancing our financial processes.

 ### 23. Effortless Financial Budgeting with Excel Compatibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. L. | Head of Financial, Planning & Analysis - Kuvare U.S. Holdings; Head of Kuvare Corporate Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I like that Vena is very user-friendly and has an Excel-based look to it. The Excel feature makes it easy to learn quickly and also allows me to interchange data between Vena and Excel. The initial setup was fairly easy thanks to a very good implementation team.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

On rare occasions, the data doesn't load properly and has to be reloaded.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vena eliminates excessive emails and spreadsheets, making budgeting easier. It's user-friendly with an Excel-based interface, which helps me learn quickly and interchange data between Vena and Excel.

 ### 24. Effortless Budgeting, Instant Access to Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kim D.

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I really like how Vena allows me to access a significant amount of information quickly, without the need to sift through numerous reports. This feature helps me save a lot of time, particularly when it's necessary to get information swiftly and keep track of numbers on a daily basis. Once I got the hang of it, setting up how many hours and the pay rates was very easy, which adds to the convenience and efficiency of using Vena.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

I would like Vena to make it easier for me to see our next year's budget. Currently, it mostly shows weekly and daily reporting numbers, which isn't as helpful for long-term budget planning. I think an improvement would be a dedicated budget tab that displays the budget we've worked on and put together more comprehensively.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vena for budgeting and tracking daily, weekly, and monthly reports, which saves me time by providing quick access to information without sifting through multiple reports.

 ### 25. Effective for Data Compilation, Challenging for Report Building

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor L. | Financial Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I enjoy the conferences that Vena organizes. I also value the drilldown on transactions feature, as it saves me the hassle of consulting my ERP for everything.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

The report building is complicated compared to other softwares.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Vena for compiling data from our ERP. The drilldown feature helps me to not consult the ERP for everything.

 ### 26. Consolidated Templates and Reports That Save Time for Analytics

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Vena?**

Consolidating input templates and reports into one file. Making a lot less to update and more time spending doing analytics.

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Vena?**

As a financial analyst part of sales team, in my organisation this excel based interface has made my processes more easier, and automated with strong collaboration. This vena tool is extremely helpful for those work in financial companies like myself, by coordination of enterprise finance teams like budgeting, forecasting made more intuitive and easier process to work on.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

None, at present. The only disadvantage I can think of is those with just basic excel familiarity might find it harder, to understand workflow setup and other process.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem vena is solving is providing a proper structure to budgeting and forecasting, as traditional excel based method is prone to be ineffective. And tracking changes is relatively made easier, and collaborative approach. **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arthur C. | PDG, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Vena?**

I have been using Vena for some time, and what I like the most is its seamless integration with Excel. We retain the flexibility of Excel while benefiting from a collaborative platform that centralizes data and reduces errors. The interface is intuitive and allows for real-time teamwork, which really speeds up financial planning and analysis.

**What do you dislike about Vena?**

On the other hand, some advanced features require a bit of time to master, and the price can be a barrier for small businesses. When the models become very large, the loading time can also increase.

**What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we adopted Vena, our way of working has completely changed. Before, we had to manage dozens of scattered Excel files and exchange them via email, which created duplicates and errors. Today, all our data is centralized on a single platform, and everyone can collaborate in real-time on the same models.

The automation of consolidation and report updates saves us valuable time in each forecasting cycle. We now have better visibility into our finances and can simulate different scenarios much faster, which significantly improves the quality of our strategic decisions.

For my team, this means less stress, fewer manual errors, and more time dedicated to analysis and value creation. In summary, Vena allows us to work more efficiently and with confidence.
