## Topic Reviews
 ### 1. Takes the guesswork out of creating content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Before using Topic, my biggest hurdle to publishing was figuring out how to structure the article and finding the most important content to include. What I like best about Topic is that it pulls all of that information into one place, saving me a massive amount of brainpower and time, which I can now spend elsewhere. Highly recommend the tool for anyone pursuing content and SEO as a growth channel.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Topic has been immensely helpful in article research and outline creation. It will be great to see them add functionality for readability and SEO that some other services offer.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a tool to help us create high-quality educational content when we were recommended Topic by a fellow YC company. After using the tool for a month, I've found that the tool lives up to its promise: Taking the guesswork out of creating content outlines.

 ### 2. Saves Time, Validates Value For Clients

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse B. | Marketing Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

As a consultant who helps companies with their search presence, I found the tool through a client who recommended it and another competitor. After vetting the two tools, I found that Topic had a superior product both from a features and usability standpoint. Since then, I've optimized a number of drafts using the tool and found that it's saved me time and gives me clear, measurable ways to improve the work I do for my clients. I mainly use the Content Grader to optimize drafts to make sure we didn't miss something obvious compared to the competition.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

It would be great if the content draft connected to analytics after a given piece of content is published, however that currently is not a feature offered by Topic (or any of the competitors as far as I know). I've given this feedback to the Topic team and they are considering adding it into the product roadmap, so that's encouraging.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

If you've used older generations of tools like SEMrush or SEOMoz, this is not 'yet another' one of those. Try the one week trial to get your hands dirty in the tool and you'll see the difference. I still subscribe to SEMrush for keyword research, but Topic is now my #1 SEO weapon.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to provide data-driven direction for content aimed at SEO performance, and Topic has become an indispensable tool on this front. Going from idea to finished blog post has never been faster.

 ### 3. Gives me confidence in our content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zane J. | SEO Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Our company specializes in a competitive niche industry (postcard marketing), and before Topic, we found it especially hard to rank on search. It was a painstakingly long process to gather content ideas and keyword research for our writers.

I was assigned to streamline this process and eventually came to Topic after asking around in some startup forums. Our content research time has dropped significantly. Probably between 45%-50%. After about three months of using Topic, we started to see results. We are now ranked #3 for one of our main keywords "postcard marketing guide" and have seen steady increases with overall high-intent traffic!

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

I used to wish Topic had an AI writing tool as I've started to see other platforms offer it, but just recently I saw they have "Topic Copilot" in beta. Excited to test it out!

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The process between our company and 3rd party writers has been completely optimized. We can create templates, headings, and find keywords in about half the time it used to take us. The writers can see that and after they are finished, I'm able to review their work with Topic's "rating" tools which help me locate more areas for SEO improvement.

This has raised our content quality across the board and we've seen that reflected in our search rankings.

 ### 4. Topic is an excellent content planning tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

I like that Topic pulls all of the competitor information into one place in their content brief creator so that it is easy for me to review when creating content templates/outlines. The content grader is another valuable tool within the platform that lets me analyze the content after it is written so that I can improve it to beat other ranking web pages.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

There is nothing to dislike! I have tried a few other tools such as MarketMuse and found that this one has the best functionality and UX for my content template needs.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Topic for content planning and content template/outline creation. This platform/tool allows me to create outlines faster and with better topic coverage through detailed outlines for improved SEO writing. After writing the articles, I then upload the completed text into Topic to use their content grader to make sure that the text is optimized to include words and phrases that ranking competitors are using in their web pages.

 ### 5. One of the most helpful, beneficial and best time saving tools I've ever used!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin M. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

In addition to the time savings, my other favorite thing about Topic is that it creates a clear process for creating quality content. Instead of starting from scratch and guessing what should be included, Topic tells us what's most important for our audience. Our Director of Marketing, Copywriter, and I have all found the tool easy to use and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Honestly, there isn't something that comes to mind that I dislike about Topic. I have had nothing but extremely positive experiences with their platform.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was originally looking for a way to efficiently write blog articles for our clients when I found Topic. Our digital marketing agency works with contract writers and I've found that the quality can be hit or miss unless I give them a base of research they can work off of. The problem was, it took me 1-2 hours to do the research required to create a brief for our writer. With Topic, it takes just 30 minutes (at most).

 ### 6. Easy to use tool to level up your SEO writing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin L. | Founder and Chief Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

The topic finder helps identify topics to write about that have good traffic but are still easy to rank well for.
The editor will help you in an intuitive way to bump up your posts. Highlighting used keywords and showing the still unused keywords in a separate column is great tool.
The editor has basic formatting functionalities that make it easy to create content in topic and then paste it into your blog software without having to reformant everything.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

A Chrome or Squarespace plugin would be great, right now the only plugin is for wordpress. Also, more recommendations for original content could be a nice feature.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had been blogging without a lot of success in terms of traffic. Since using topic (about 6 months in), I was ablte to generate high 3 digit organic visitors per month.

 ### 7. Exceeding Standards in Intuitive Page Ranking for Search Engine Optimization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon M. | Independent Contractor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Discovering Topic felt more like finding the solution my company could not operate without furthering our mission, growth, and success. Topic offers real-time solutions and results to adjust immediately to exceed our clients' expectations and eliminate the chances for costly corrections.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

In many ways, there is always room for improvement anywhere in life and in business. But the unique capabilities offered by Topic leaves little to comment on any dislike. In truth--I love it!

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

If you looking to streamline your content management and raise your company's page rank to reach further and faster, Topic is the intuitive solution that will exceed your expectations--outperforming their competitors.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic's intuitive capabilities allow me to prioritize and operate efficiently working on multiple projects by creating content briefs to elevate for every client each time.

Topic's intuitive design dramatically reduces the time it takes to research and draft original content by as much as 75%, which improves our ability to deliver on client projects ahead of schedule. As we continue to scale our services and solutions, Topic has given us the ability to ensure our client's accurate and measurable results pre-publishing for real-time results within hours and days, rather than days and weeks.

 ### 8. Helpful for longform SEO content

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan P. | Founder and Publisher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Topic was incredibly helpful in outlining longform SEO content. I often found with longform articles (>2k words), things would get fluffy even if I was deeply knowledgable about the content. Topic helped me pick up on those additional things that I would have missed if working just from my own experience (or may have skimmed over if doing SEO outline research manually).

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

The drag and drop functionality can be a bit clunky at times, which makes the outlining process take a bit longer than I'd like. However, thinking big picture here: it brings the outlining research process from about 25 min to 5 min. So while I'd love it to be 3 (and it would be if the drag and drop wasn't as clunky), it's still a net win.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

I recommend Topic for folks doing longform SEO content. When blogs are too short, hitting a good score could result in a lot of keyword stuffing.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly, outlining longform SEO content. Beyond that, it's been helpful in checking the occasional new brand content but I find it most helpful for >2k word count blogs

 ### 9. Streamlined valuable content development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle U. | Director of Growth Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Topic streamlines all of the research I would typically want to do in creating new content. I'm a marketing team of one, so I need to be really efficient in how I use my time. I rely on Topic to ensure that we're creating valuable content that will perform from the very first outline.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Sometimes adding headlines and indenting or backing out the headers can be cumbersome.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Search engine optimization cannot be overlooked and creating fresh, relevant content that's truly adding value is a major undertaking. I've been able to create better outlines, which leads to more efficient writing and easier hand-offs to outside contractors.

 ### 10. Powerful content marketing tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

What I like best are the research features. They make the process of creating an outline more efficient. Before I would have a bunch of tabs open during this phase. I still do, but there are fewer I have to open ;) I also like that I can share a link with my writers to give them access to the Content Research tool and Content Grader tool. The team does a great job of making product improvements and providing support.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

There is nothing in particular that I don't like.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic makes creating content briefs faster and easier and it helps my writers create more effective content.

 ### 11. Liking Topic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James Y. | Content Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

They've made something potentially complex and difficult to use easy and simple to navigate. The interface is intuitive and does not require a steep learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

There's not much I dislike about Topic, and the few things I noticed (load speed can be slow at times) were already reported to their team. To their credit, they took it seriously and shared ways they can work to address them.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic has drastically cut down the amount of time we spend researching keywords and SERP results to build content briefs. Before, we would average anywhere from a half hour to hour to build a brief. Topic has sliced that in half and streamlined the whole process.

 ### 12. Happy Topic user - we optimised our content creation process immensely

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaloyan D. | SEO & Content Marketer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

I love their simple UI interface. A lot of other tools I tested usually overwhelm the users by showing a lot of data and with their complicated workflows. With Topic, they show you just the right amount of information required to accomplish the task.

Especially for content-driven marketers, it's easy to start and use. One feature that stands out, in particular, is keyword grouping. This is something more SEO and content tools should strive to implement.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Not that I count this as a disadvantage, but it would be great to have a bit more insight into how the topics are being generated -> stats, data, just for us geeks out there.

GPT-3 integration is still in its early stages. It works well with high volume keywords but when it comes to some niche keywords, it can go off the rails.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

I would advise you to take your time -> get the hang of it by using the content research process to its full potential. Go through different topics, and, try to identify your main keyword / parent topic, rather than focusing on smaller volume, super long-tail keywords. The tool is smart enough to work with the parent topic (especially if you're on a lower credits plan).

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we found Topic we were looking to generate content outlines that we can hand off to our writers. Since implementing Topic into our workflow, we are creating outlines at a much faster pace. The GPT-3 integration that Topic offers helps us to come up with titles/ descriptions and outline ideas in no time.

I've used the content optimization part sparingly until now. One of our top converting pieces (bringing dozens of subs per month), sadly sank to 10-11th from top 3. After optimizing it with Topic, in about a week we got back to top 3/4. So it proves that there's real merit to Topic's content optimizer.

 ### 13. "Topic = Traffic"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

With Topic, we've been able to substantially improve the quality of our content while saving massive time. Instead of blindly approaching a blog post from our own perspective, we now get a clear direction. And it's translated to more keyword coverage and traffic. What I like best is that they've been able to deliver on what they promised.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

It's just that I didn't find them sooner.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

When we found Topic, we were searching for a solution to improve the quality of our blog posts. Our industry is highly technical and the freelance writers we work with would often miss key aspects of the subject. We needed a way to make sure every post we published spoke the language of our audience and covered what matters to them. Using Topic has been great, it only took a month to start seeing traction on posts that we optimized. It's cool to see us slowly move up the ranks compared to the competitors.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website Traffic

 ### 14. Topic cut our content research time in half!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cvetilena G. | Founder / Marketing Strategist, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

We're really enthusiastic about the tool, it really is an upgrade to our workflow. What I like best is how straightforward it is to use and how quickly we were able to see the benefits. To be honest, I'm hesitant to share this tool widely because we think of it as our secret weapon when it comes to content.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Nothing really. The team is very open and transparent about their roadmap. Some great additions to the tool are coming, looking forward to using the environment in the future.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Give the outline builder a try and you'll be amazed!

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since adding Topic to our workflow, we have cut the time we spend managing our writers and researching articles in half. Since we are creating 10-15 articles a month, this adds up to a lot of saved time. We also share the Topic grader with our content writers so that they can grade the content before sending it back to us. This has improved the overall quality of what we publish.

 ### 15. Usetopic dramatically improves the content creation workflow process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marston G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

There are now a few tools out there to help with the creation of content briefs. Most are not created/written for writers and even with all that powerful data - the time involved in translation outweighs the benefits. Topic's approach is very different. Handing off its information to a writer is much easier and it dramatically improves the workflow of ideation to creation to publication.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

You have to take it on some faith that the grading of content accurately reflects content quality.
It can still take some time to create a brief outline when looking at several different competitors.
Would be nice to be able to track performance across all customers and understand the opportunity level one could achieve - say based on current domain authority - to improve SERP performance. Additionally would be useful to track the content creation / re-write time based on current grade vs target.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

There are certainly lots of tools that can help evaluate content once created - but not many that can actually help get the ball rolling in the right direction - which is where most of the time is spent.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've seen a dramatic reduction in the amount of time it takes to create content briefs and turn the content as well. Writers are getting very specific recommendations about length, word usage and content structure.

 ### 16. UseTopic.com to save time and create better content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa P. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Topic has been awesome to use. It helps me create detailed outlines that cover everything my audience cares about. The end result is that I can create a better outline in less time. The content grader has been helpful as well in ensuring the freelance writers that I work with meet a standard bar of quality. Being able to share the grader via a sharable link makes it easy for me to delegate the task of grading to the writer.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

There's really not anything I dislike about the tool. It's a great piece of software that works well for what it's designed for. Plus the founders are very responsive!

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, I would look at the top pages in Google for a given keyword and go through each one individually to do my SEO research. I used to spend about an hour to create a quality outline. With Topic, it takes me just 30 minutes. What I like best is that it cuts the time in half and the outlines come out better. It is a really useful tool for anyone who is regularly creating content.

 ### 17. Topic has been amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nader K. | CEO & Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

It's so easy to start new posts and it keeps my content on track.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

I honestly don't have anything to say here

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic is helping me decide what content to write about and increase the quality of my posts.

 ### 18. Every Content Marketer Should Use Topic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Topic was clearly built by marketers, for marketers. It provides actionable insights to help you improve everything from headlines to core copy. It's easy to use and I love the google docs plugin, which makes it easy to optimize as you write.

The support is also fantastic - you can tell the founders really care about their customers. I also think their pricing is extremely competitive in the MarTech space, which is a plus.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

There isn't much I dislike - I found it superior to other tools I was evaluating.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Sign up and start using it - the results speak for themselves.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEO optimization, content creation and ideation.

 ### 19. I Have Used All The Top Content Optimization Tools. Topic Is The Best.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

The developers at Topic have a background in SEO. Which means they built a tool first and foremost for SEOs. Their overall UI is elegant, and super well thought out.

I am noticing an increase in content production, an increase in content quality (from writers), and the ability to just move faster overall. If I compare it to SurferSEOs content editor, it's way easier on the eyes and just overall easier to create quality outlines. What felt like a mess before, is a breeze. I for sure prefer the Content Outline editor to any other tool thus far and is super slick.

Kudos to the team @Topic. A few suggestions or thoughts I had were implemented in 24 hours which is completely unheard of.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Right now the content outline editor overlaps a bit of the screen when trying to do research. However, the team at Topic has already implemented a new & improved UI.

I don't have a lot of dislike as of yet. It's my favorite content optimization tool.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Great team, and a needed tool when creating content for the web.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- High volume content production
- Grading writers quickly
- Did we cover the topic well enough to provide value for the reader
- Optimizing the content production process (keyword research to uploading)

 ### 20. Great SEO tool with amazing customer support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chinmayee P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

The UI and intuitive nature of using the platform

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

The pricing is bit on expensive side, but the team is super helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Please sign up when you have clear content and SEO strategy. Make sure you know what keywords you want to target.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting my content seo optimised and creating briefs

 ### 21. Huge time saver, Topic cuts down our research time drastically

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amrit S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

My favorite thing about Topic is the amount of time it saves us. Meaning we can invest more in other marketing channels without sacrificing on the quality of our content. Another side benefit is that having a set process in place enables us to have a consistent quality standard for anything we publish. It's hard to imagine going back to our previous workflow after switching to Topic.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

The only con is that there isn't an easy way for us to scale down and scale up reports besides contacting them. However, they have always been quick to respond so it hasn't been a big issue for us.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Topic, we leaned heavily on traditional keyword research tools and manual research in order to create content outlines. The problem for us was that this process took hours and couldn't be easily taught to our freelance writers. After Topic, we've been able to cut our research time by more than half. Their tool is so intuitive that we can have our writers do the research themselves, and now we can spend that extra time in other important areas of our content marketing.

 ### 22. Every top SEO's secret weapon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny W. | Co-Founder & Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

I love how it saves me time in creating SEO-optimized outlines and content, especially for longer-form articles. I probably save about 3 hours on average with each Topic report versus if I pulled the insights manually. My team works through dozens of articles each week too, so we save hundreds of hours each month.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

The tool is can be slow at times or unresponsive when I load new content to grade. But that doesn't happen very often so it's a minor issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

For teams that invest heavily into content, Topic will help you multiply your returns by saving you time and helping more of your pages rank better.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to create content that'll be able to compete on the first page of the SERPs. Previously, I used to write content blind using what I thought were SEO best practices. Topic takes a data-driven approach to helping me actually achieve that (without the guesswork). That way, my team can spend more time writing quality prose.

 ### 23. My Most Recommended Content Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sang H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

It's easy and intuitive, and a no-brainer to use if you're regularly producing SEO content. All of the teams that we've recommended it to find themselves wondering why they hadn't found a tool like this sooner. And it's always improving. The founders regularly add new features to the product based on our feedback.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

The only challenge we've run into is teaching writers to use the grade effectively: to use the recommended keywords to expose content gaps and not necessarily just add keywords without adding context. Besides that, we haven't run into anything so far.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic is our go-to recommendation when I get asked about my favorite content marketing tools. We use it to help companies that I mentor grow their organic search traffic. It's useful for both giving old content a refresh and also for helping create new content. All of the teams we've recommended it to have had a positive experience both in the time it's saved them as well as the results they've seen.
As an added bonus, the founders are always open to advising us when we have SEO questions.

 ### 24. Cheatsheet for creating quality blog posts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

As an edu-tech business with a small content team, we were looking for a tool that could level up our content marketing. After comparing a number of solutions, we chose Topic. Our experience has been very positive. Using it has saved us significant time by showing us everything we need to write about to beat the competition. It's our cheatsheet for creating quality blog posts.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

That I didn't find out about this tool earlier.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My favorite thing about Topic is how easy it is to use. Our writers picked it up quickly (and are now hell-bent on getting an A++ in the grader). It's enabled our small team to scale up content without adding more work. I'd recommend it to anyone regularly producing search-focused blog content.

 ### 25. Excellent tool to help content creators

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Topic?**

This software helps content creators to do their job faster and more efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

The pricing plan is not suitable for small companies or freelancers.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Try it!

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get search traffic can be time-consuming. Topic cuts the effort and the time needed to produce content that meets all Google criteria to rank higher on SERP.

 ### 26. Topic is our go-to tool for creating SEO content.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitish A. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

My favorite thing about the software is that it works. When comparing posts where we've used it and haven't used it, we've seen noticeable positive differences in organic search traffic. And because it's so easy to use, we've been able to seamlessly integrate it into how we create content. Before, we had to do time-consuming research to make sure we were identifying search intent and the right subtopics to cover, but now it's as easy as going into the platform and creating a content report. In addition, their founders have been helpful and easy to reach when I've had questions.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

For the most part, there hasn't been anything that we don't like about the platform. We make sure every post we publish is optimized with Topic. Looking forward to seeing how the product develops from here!

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've had a great experience working with Topic both in the results we've seen and the time its saved our writers. Creating content is a time consuming and expensive endeavor with inconsistent results, especially when you are in a competitive industry like ours. Topic has helped us make the most of our team's resources by making sure each piece of content we produce is SEO-friendly and matches what our audience is looking for.

 ### 27. Best Article Optimization Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve W. | Instagram Expert Growth Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Topic does a great job identifying articles written about the same or similar topic. The tool references paragraphs that use relevant keywords so that you understand the context. We have tried a number of well known page optimizers and find that Topic has the most user friendly dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

We are a small agency so the higher price, as compared to similar tools, forces the user to reconfirm the value Topic offers every single month.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

no

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic ensures you are aware of all relevant keywords as you write or optimize your article and provides resources to make sure the writer understands context. We have been using Topic for two months now and have witnessed ranking increases on all optimized content. The niches we work in are volatile and rankings change frequently so we cannot provide detailed metrics on ranking improvements e.g. 15% ranking improvement for example.

 ### 28. Create briefs faster and get content to rank with Topic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

I was really impressed by the topics/keywords that it surfaces. I've tried other tools like Surfer and Clearscope, and Topic has surfaced better results compared to them.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Have been using about 3 weeks and don't have anything bad to report yet.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic automates the research involved in creating the content brief, and helps me write an outline efficiently. The grader makes it easy for my writing team to reach full topical coverage. When I'm doing research for a new piece of content, I want to see the nuances of the subject and understand what I should cover. Topic helps me find that quickly while allowing me to maintain the level of editorial control that I need.

 ### 29. Awesome product and team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Topic has been an essential tool for getting our SEO content engine ramped up. We had demo calls with several competitors and were even recommended Clearscope, but Topic felt much cleaner and easier to understand. We're glad we went with Topic as it has been easy to use and understand, and has been massively helpful for our writers. Plus, the Topic team is highly responsive and helpful. Even in the few months that we've been working with them they've added a bunch of helpful features to make our workflow easier.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

I wish Topic could have a plug in with Google docs so that we wouldn't have to copy and paste our text over to their tool to get it graded. I actually mentioned this to the Topic team and they already had a G-Docs plug in on their roadmap, so this shouldn't be an issue for long.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Do a demo with the team and try the product for a few weeks.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizing our content for SEO to drive organic search traffic.

 ### 30. Simple but Powerful.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

When we looked at the results, they spoke for themselves. After optimizing the content using Topic, we saw a marked turnaround for pages that had been declining for the past year. A month after the changes, traffic grew to reach previous levels. We're happy with the results.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

I wish they had a lower pricing tier for personal projects, but besides that haven't had any problems.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The topic is invaluable in helping us rank for competitive industry terms. We've tested it on our content library, optimizing our top sales materials that also generate organic search traffic. We've seen a strong impact. I love how it's simple to use, easy enough for anyone to start using in a couple of minutes even if you aren't an SEO expert. It's been exciting to see the results and we're looking forward to continuing to use this product on new content.

 ### 31. My favorite content optimization tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

What I like most about Topic is how much time it saves us. Spending less time doing research for content allows us to scale up our content creation without having to hire. We’ve saved the cost of half a full-time employee and it’s allowed us to scale our productivity as a team. Previously our team could do 5 to 6 briefs a week, but now we can do 50 to 60. That’s a ten-fold increase in productivity.

It's even helped us close a deal. We recently pitched content optimization services in a meeting with a potential client. This company had written 250 blog posts but none of them were ranking. During our sales process, we created a Topic content brief and used it to show them how they can improve the article and rank higher. Seeing the brief helped them trust that we knew what we were talking about and helped close the deal.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Not much at this point. The UI is occasionally buggy, but a quick refresh fixes everything.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My main goal was to find something that could make content brief creation easier. SEMrush is our main SEO tool but the manual process of creating briefs takes up a lot of time. With Topic, we're able to create 5-6x the number of briefs because of how easy it is to research a keyword.

I definitely recommend Topic over all the other content optimization tools.

 ### 32. Easy to use and effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naomi T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

The user interface makes it easy for anyone on our team to scope content.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Difficult to evaluate more than one keyword opportunity for the same brief.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Topic has allowed us to streamline our content scoping process while still creating content that ranks. For some posts, we have seen as much as 300% YoY improvement in traffic after optimizing with Topic. Additionally, the tool is easy to use by anyone on our team, which has helped improve scalability.

 ### 33. Topic increases productivity and efficiency of our content program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emilie P. | Chief of Staff, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

The content grader tool is my favorite tool on the Internet right now. It makes optimizing your content (blog posts, in my case) for SEO super simple and not forced; rather than forcing a bunch of keywords into a post as I write it, I can write the post and then make strategic updates to specific words and phrases. The UI is clean, simple to follow and almost gamefies the experience which keeps things interesting when you spend a significant amount of time working on content. I also love to see how our post stacks up with competitors/other ranking articles for the keyword. Again, the UI makes this very simple to glance and understand, or dive deeper into the details. Without hesitation I recommend Topic to everyone I know.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

Once in a blue moon, the content grader tool does not recognize and "score" you for keywords that are, in fact, included in the article. When flagged to the team, they look into fixing the issue immediately (extremely responsive and truly care about their customers experiences). Even with this (very occasional) glitch, you can still see the keywords along the margin and manually check them off in your mind; it doesn't affect the functionality in that manner (just the gamification of seeing your content grade increase as you go).

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Don't waste time, sign up now for better content tomorrow.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm new to SEO, and Topic has enabled me to incorporate best-practices of SEO into my blog posts without having to do a ton of research, spend money on lots of different tools, or take a ton of time to learn how it works.

 ### 34. Excellent SEO Tool - would recommend to any content team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bimal Kartheek R. | Co Founder, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

There are a lot of useful things about Topic, but the biggest that comes to mind is the the quality of the secondary keywords that it gives me. There are a lot of content optimization tools out there, and I've tried many of them. For me, Topic has been the one that gives me keyword suggestions that actually make an impact on our content's ranking.

In addition, the founders are very open to sharing their SEO knowledge. They have been a valuable resource for us as we've integrated the tool with our entire team.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

The only issue I've faced is the length of time it takes to create a content brief. I'm often creating so many of them that I have to wait for a bit. But otherwise my experience has been excellent.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being in charge of a content marketing program at growing startup, it was a huge challenge to for me to scalably create SEO-friendly outlines for our writers. Using Topic helped us bring our research time down from hours to minutes, and in doing so we've been able to not only improve the ranking of our content, but also create more of it. We've also been able to take our existing content library and optimize it using Topic, which has definitively shown us that using the product drives more clicks to our posts. It's been a real lifesaver, and it's the first tool I recommend to content teams producing SEO-focused content.

 ### 35. Incredibly useful tool to save time and effort!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Topic allows me to save time researching new topics so I can quickly build content outlines for my writing team to create SEO optimized articles and product pages.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

There is a monthly fee but not too much.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am optimizing my content creation process by having outlines created in seconds instead of hours.

 ### 36. SEO analysis Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Topic?**

Super clean UX/UI which is a joy to use.
Simple features that does the job, creating content briefs for writers

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

It's a bit expensive however, you can see the value quickly and you can cancel at any point.

**Recommendations to others considering Topic:**

Great alternative to more expensive tools in the same space. It does what it claims to do really well.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps creating content which is by default of good quality and has the potential to rank.

 ### 37. Essential Tool For Any Content Marketer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose Angelo G. | Contributing Writer & Thought Leader , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Topic?**

If you need to create a blog outline, this tool is a must-have! Topic has saved me so many hours of manual work by automating content and keyword research.

**What do you dislike about Topic?**

I hope they release more features to help with content workflow.

**What problems is Topic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Write better content - I have a better understanding of the competition and the audience goal for blog topics.

Creating Blog Outline - Instead of spending hours of manual research to create a blog outline, Topic automates the process by creating an outline to hand off to writers.
