## Toast Reviews
  ### 1. Quick Promo Setup, 24/7 Support, and Easy Reporting with Toast

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I like that I can set up promos quickly, and I can also get help fast through my CSM or the Toast Support Center, which is available 24 hours. Toast also has an AI program that lets me ask it anything, along with support articles that make setup and learning really easy. On top of that, Toast makes it simple for me to track guest orders, pull reports, and do more as needed.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I feel like communicating with Toast support can be tricky. You often get transferred between different representatives, and it can be difficult to get an immediate answer or the right help depending on the issue. Additionally, we’ve noticed there are some tools and glitches that need updating and could still be improved.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast makes it easy to track guest orders, which helps me issue refunds when needed and communicate clearly with both guests and store managers. I can also set up store promos quickly and without much hassle, and then track those promos along with the related data whenever I need it. On top of that, the software integrates well with GRUBBRR, so we’re able to track kiosk orders too.

  ### 2. Solid with Great Integration, Needs Better Flexibility

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris F. | Restaurant Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I find Toast's integration with third-party ordering systems valuable. The handheld feature is easy for servers to use for taking guest orders. We use DoorDash along with Toast, and the menu and photos integrate nicely.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

The system is incapable of using if-then-else logic, so setting conditional rules for menu items is not easy. The discount system for combos is overly complicated and often doesn't provide expected results. The multi-restaurant package isn't ready for prime time, with many limitations, particularly with menu pricing and item routing. Toast support takes an exceptionally long time to resolve issues and there are several settings we as users don't have access to.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Toast integrates well with third-party ordering systems like DoorDash, making it easier for servers to take orders. It also pulls daily reports to help calculate labor tips and inventory. We also employ Toast Tables, Toast Catering & Events, and Toast Loyalty which integrate neatly.

  ### 3. Effortless Shift Management with Timely Reminders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Que T. | Cook, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I like how Toast helps me organize my hours and tells me my total hours, which is really beneficial for managing my shifts. I also appreciate how it reminds me when my shift is coming up, reducing the chances of being late. The initial setup was easy, which was a plus.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

how they sometimes don't send notifications

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast for organizing my hours and checking total hours, helping me avoid being late with shift reminders.

  ### 4. Intuitive POS with Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaitlyn H. | IT/ Business Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I really like the ease of use of Toast. I find it efficient, especially when diving into larger scale reporting. It's helpful for understanding what menus and items are selling best, as well as tracking sales and payment trends. The modifications feature is also nice, particularly for adding modifiers on the bar and ice cream sides. Setting it up was very easy, and maintaining it is super easy too, once the initial setup is done.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

There are some reports that just don't have the scalability I need. I think it would be better with more flexibility on the features you can sort by and report by. While it does have a lot of reporting options, I feel like for the wide scale of information, it could be improved on the reporting side.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast for pulling reports, sales metrics, daily and monthly sales summaries, managing menus, and integrating with online delivery platforms. It's easy to use and efficient, especially for large-scale reporting and tracking sales and payment trends.

  ### 5. Streamlined Restaurant Operations with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob Z. | VIP Retention Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I really like how easy it is to use the handheld device for the POS with Toast. The ticketing system is also very prompt and specific, which is a big plus. It minimizes the use of paper and ink, which is great. The system is very intuitive for both customers and workers alike. It was also super easy to set up, I'd give it a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it. I also love that receipts can be emailed, printed, or texted to the customer.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I think it could be just slightly better with regards to keeping tabs as well as keeping individual receipts.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast to simplify tracking customer tabs and bills, managing tables, and viewing sales performance. It's easier to use, implement, and submit orders directly from tables, improving efficiency. The device is intuitive for workers and customers, and reduces paper usage.

  ### 6. Comprehensive all in one cloud based Restaurant POS System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shihan S. | Program Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

What I like best about Toast POS is its restaurant-specific all-in-one platform. It’s built purpose-fully for front-of-house and back-of-house operations—so you can take orders, process payments (including tap & contactless), manage online and in-restaurant flows, update the menu in real time, and track data from one unified system.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

It is highly dependent on internet connectivity and proprietary hardware. If your Wi-Fi or network goes down, or if you’re in a remote location (like a villa café in the misty mountains), operations might be hindered.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast solves the problem of managing multiple restaurant systems by bringing everything—POS, online ordering, payments, inventory, and reporting—into one integrated platform. It streamlines order processing between servers and the kitchen, reducing errors and improving speed of service. For me, this means smoother operations, real-time visibility into sales and performance, and easier management of menu updates and customer transactions—all from a single dashboard.

  ### 7. Convenient and User-Friendly Tool, But Needs Better Document Organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** alex c. | Receptionist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I used Toast as a hostess and found it really convenient to use. It allowed employees to access everything seamlessly, which stood out to me. I appreciated how easy and accessible the app was; it was very user-friendly. Logging in and navigating it was super easy. I'd recommend Toast a 10 because every time I go to a restaurant and see they use Toast, I get happy.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I think what could work better is understanding how to get tax documents, they seemed a little scattered.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast is convenient and allows employees to access everything seamlessly.

  ### 8. Toast Streamlines Restaurant Operations with Powerful All-in-One Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose P. | QC Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I appreciate how Toast streamlines operations for businesses in the food service industry. It offers a comprehensive suite of tools designed to manage various aspects of a restaurant's day-to-day activities. The integrated system simplifies order taking, payment processing, and even inventory management. Furthermore, it provides valuable insights through reporting features, allowing for better decision-making. Overall, its focus on enhancing efficiency and customer experience is a significant benefit.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Toast’s hardware is reliable, but you can’t mix and match with cheaper third‑party options. If something breaks or you want to expand, you’re buying Toast‑branded gear at Toast‑branded prices.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Disconnected front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house, and online systems
Restaurants often juggle separate tools for POS, online ordering, kitchen routing, payroll, and reporting. Toast unifies these into one connected platform so orders flow cleanly from server → kitchen → payment → reporting.

  ### 9. Unbelievably bad.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik R. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

POS but quite frankly it's nothing special.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Disaster to onboard. Software is constantly causing issues with our customers. Toast support is absolute garbage. Most of the time support can't even assist you.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

process payment and point of sale but it causes more customer issues and problems and they have terrible customer service.

  ### 10. Toast Makes Receipts Effortless with Automatic Email Delivery

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan M. | Assistant Director of Marketing, Leisure, Travel & Tourism, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

As a consumer of Toast my favorite part is it recognizes my card number and will send me my receipt via email with out even being prompted to. I also like that it saves my information so that any retailer that uses toast it will be easy for me to make a payment with out having to find my card.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Since I am only a consumer, I don't know the back end product enough to have dislikes, but as a consumer I love when restaurants use toast.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast makes check out at restaurants more streamlined.

  ### 11. My toast experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eda D. | Floor manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

Everything is much easier. You use Toast just like using any tablet. Processing credit card transactions is easy. Resolving payment-related issues is easy. At the same time, it’s extremely simple and user-friendly. In addition, the reporting system is amazing. You can view your reports in detail from every different perspective you want. And all in a very simple way. And just from your phone

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I think the biggest problem is the connection issue. Unfortunately, since you use it while moving around, the connection can easily drop. And when this happens, the contact with the kitchen also gets cut off, and if you don’t notice it, this connection problem can create very serious issues at the restaurant. I think this needs to be fixed

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The difference from the old programs is that it has been designed in a very modern way. It has features that the old programs did not have and has been developed to fit the new world. That’s why it is easier and simpler. Especially for younger employees, it is very easy to learn and apply.

  ### 12. Streamlined Restaurant Operations with a Few Hiccups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen S. | Senior accounting Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I like Toast mostly for the naming convention that lets you name your own checks and tabs. It's great for keeping track of things that way. I also find it easy to search for items on the menu for the kitchen or the drink menu. The search function is simple and links to either the kitchen or the bar, which makes it convenient. Additionally, I appreciate how you can use multiple different cards to split one check very simply.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I didn't like that the names of the checks actually got printed on the customer's receipt. So I probably wouldn't have that as a function.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast organizes customer checks and tabs, handles multiple payment methods, and lets me name checks for easy tracking. It simplifies searching menus and splitting checks, improving efficiency.

  ### 13. Ultimate All-in-One App for Scheduling and Payroll

It's great how I don't have to go to different apps to check my schedule or get my paystubs—everything is in one app. Toast makes it simple to see if I need to call off or get PTO, and I can easily select what I need from the app. Setting up Toast was very easy, and I didn't need any help with it. It's like Superman—very dependable. I give it a rating of 10 and would tell anyone that I have the best app for them to use.

I didn’t dislike anything about the app

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast consolidates my schedule and paystubs into one app, eliminating the need to use multiple apps. It's easy to operate and helps me manage PTO or call-offs directly.

  ### 14. Effortless Staff Management, Limited by Closed Ecosystem

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra .

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I use Toast for handling clock-ins, clock-outs, and paying the staff, and it also helps me provide reports on which menu items are selling and which are just taking up space. It's very effective for handling the in-and-out analysis of my organization. I like that it syncs with a place website directly, so I don't have to manually add things. The initial setup of Toast was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I don't like Toast's closed ecosystem, especially with its hardware and payment system. The hardware & system lock-in can be a bit restrictive.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast to handle clock-ins and -outs, pay staff, and report on menu sales. It effectively manages in and out analysis and syncs directly with our website without manual input.

I love that Toast is a smaller system, but it offers wonderful functionality. As a small business owner, I find it easy to navigate and use right on the tablet, which is essential for taking payments. The functionalities of the system are awesome, as well as the customer support. The initial setup was wonderful, and overall, it's been easy to navigate and a great fit for our business.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Response time could definitely be improved. And then if there's any videos that I could watch to learn all of the functions that are offered through Toast, that would be great as opposed to having to experiment.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast for transactions and taking payments from customers. It is a powerful but affordable option for us.

I enjoy that everything is labeled and the information is toggled down neatly, making it simple to make changes to a report if needed. Toast is easy to use, which helps ensure information gets updated daily.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I think the sign on home screen can have less stuff on it, sometimes it feels a bit hectic. Make the layout simpler, and allow users to remove or add stuff to their dashboard as they see fit.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast solves users' dependence on our service with its ease of use, ensuring daily information updates. The straightforward interface saves me time, making navigation and report changes simple.

I like the customizability and ease of use that Toast offers. Since I started using Toast about 8 months ago, I've been able to manage orders easily, extending them from in-person to advanced online ordering without having to worry about payment. I use Toast for seamless in-person and online ordering, extending orders without worrying about payment. I appreciate its customizability and ease of use, and the setup was super easy, even for inexperienced cafe owners.

  ### 24. Toast payroll interface is very weak, and payroll options are limited.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

This review is only for Toast payroll - I like that the system provides me useful data visualizations before I process payroll. I like the ease of syncing hours from POS to payroll. Payroll processing is quick, and that includes the many self-inflicted edits I do.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

This review is for Toast payroll only - This product is horribly designed. The interface is stale, click-heavy, boring, and disengaging. The entry screens (both payroll and employee) are poorly designed. Payroll processing is woefully limiting, making one-off changes incredibly challenging. I have used many payroll systems, including Paychex Flex and UKG Ready, and this is the least functional of them all. It is clear Toast is a POS company that has (barely) bolted-on payroll. Online AI support is poor, though the human agents do well. They do not offer trust checks. EE mobile app is hard to navigate. EE's have to provide ID to Toast to get support.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payroll processing, payroll fulfillment, payroll tax filings and deposits.

  ### 25. Effortless Ordering with Predictable Meal Timing

Noting comes to mind

Not everywhere used toast for ordering food

Picking up coffee on the go- most delivery/pick up apps do not do coffee shops

  ### 34. Great modern day POS for restaurants!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley A. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

what i like about toast is it just makes all of our marketing easy. i can run promos, loyalty program, see what’s working...all in one place. saves time, gets results.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

probably the email builder as its kinda clunky and limited. not a ton of design flexibility and feels basic compared to real marketing tools. gets the job done but not great if you wanna get creative

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

toast makes it easy for me to do stuff on the back end for my client. i can make promo codes, update menus, etc. and it all just shows up on their pos without them needing to mess with it. they’re not super techy so they appreciate that i can handle it all without needing to walk them through a bunch of steps.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I liked how easy it was to learn to navigate and how there are handheld devices

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Nothing, it worked perfectly for my work environment

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped with having a large staff and multiple people needing to use a POS system at the same time. With Toast, you can use a handheld, portable device to carry around with you.

  ### 37. Simple Payment Collection, but Fees Need Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darrian H. | Data analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I like the simplicity of Toast and found the initial setup easy.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I don't like that the transaction fee could be lower. I believe it should be a flat transaction or monthly fee since you also have to purchase the machine.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast to collect payments, making getting paid simpler.

  ### 38. Toast an exercise in efficiently and frustration

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jed B. | General Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

Toast is great for reporting and getting you business metrics quickly and efficiently. Building out your menus and programming everything is easy. They integrate in with various other RMSs which is great. The customer support lines are never too busy and they usually are friendly and outgoing when you have to call them.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Toast hardware is terrible. We are always having issues with specifically our S1 handhelds. Sent at least 5-6 back on warranty replacement however now that we have just passed a year and I have 3 handhelds that have stopped working properly and they are just outside of the warranty period. It screams of planned obsolesce.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of daily use and reporting restaurant metrics are great with Toast.

  ### 39. My perspective of Toast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamya T. | Caregiver, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I use the Toast app to take orders, process payments, and manage daily operations efficiently. It helps speed up service, reduce errors, and keep everything organized from table side ordering to tracking sales. It’s easy to use and makes the whole restaurant run smoother.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

One downside of Toast is that it can lag or freeze during busy times, which slows things down. Also, some updates or features aren’t always intuitive, so it can take time to learn or adjust. If the internet goes down, certain functions don’t work well unless there’s a backup.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast solves several problems in the restaurant industry, like slow service, order mistakes, and messy communication between the front and back of house. It speeds up order entry, sends tickets directly to the kitchen, and tracks sales and tips automatically. For me, it makes daily tasks smoother, helps avoid errors, and saves time especially during busy shifts.

  ### 40. Easy Navigation for Tracking Transactions and Sales

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

Toast is a very user-friendly POS System. They make it easy for business owners to get setup and get all of their technology connected and working seamlessly. They integrate with a lot of other technology which helps mitigate manual data entry.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

The one thing I wish Toast would do better, is consider how the information from the POS will flow to accounting systems. A lot of the time features are released that favor the operations side of the business but leave accounting having to do a lot of extra work in order to get information recorded correctly. I'd love to be part of a user panel to help Toast make informed decisions that benefit the business as a whole.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast provides an easy to use POS system that is flexible for all types of restaurant models.

  ### 43. Toast is great!

  ### 44. Lightweight instant feedback enhances user experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ewan F.

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

In the process of using Toast, I particularly appreciate its lightweight feature. Toast can display information in a concise manner in the corner of the page without taking up much screen space, which means that the user's operation fluency and sense of immersion are not interrupted. I am also very satisfied with the timeliness of Toast, as it provides immediate feedback after an operation, helping users understand the results at the first moment and reducing anxiety caused by uncertainty. Flexibility is another aspect I admire, as it allows for adjustments to the display content, duration, and position according to business needs, making it very efficient. The instant feedback function provides clear results after key operations, enhancing the certainty of interactions, while the customizable display duration ensures the effectiveness of information display without interfering with user operations.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Limited interactivity: Toasts usually just display information simply, and users cannot engage in deep interaction with them. For example, when a message indicating an operation failure is displayed, users cannot directly make corrections on the Toast; they must return to the original operation interface to handle it again.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast to provide operation feedback, status notifications, and error prompts. It can immediately inform users of the operation results, preventing repeated actions and anxiety, and displays the system status in a concise manner, helping users solve problems promptly without interrupting the current operation flow.

  ### 45. Seamless & Efficient: Toast Delivers a Smooth Cloud Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica D. | Web API Developer, Gambling & Casinos, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

Toast makes handling business tasks a breeze with its simple setup and smooth payment processing. It keeps things running efficiently while offering real-time insights and easy-to-customize workflows, so you can focus on what matters most.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Toast is great for streamlining payments and business tasks, but it can be tricky to set up. Some features are pricey, and customer support could be faster. Still, it’s a solid option for smooth operations.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Toast, managing payments and tracking orders was a hassle, with clunky systems slowing things down. Now, everything runs smoothly with easy transactions and real-time insights, saving time and keeping operations effortless. Plus, its seamless integration with other tools makes it a game-changer for business efficiency.

  ### 46. Efficient and Streamlined POS

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

The intuitive UI and specialized features like handheld ordering streamline our daily service.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Mandatory payment processing fees and expensive proprietary hardware are the main downsides.

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

It is easy to place pick-up orders and track the order progress.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I wish the layout allowed different categorization options for menus, like sorting or filtering by price.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes ordering food much easier than calling the restaurant.

  ### 48. Simplicity at its finest

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Delonte R. | Audio Video Conference Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

Toast is exactly what the food and tech industry needs. While doing some training for a restaurant I briefly worked for, I was able to easily navigate through the many menu options the restaurant offered. Even those who work remote was able to see the entire menu from start to finish.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Speaking of remote, the remote staff could improve on their service as there were instances where I had to reach out to them regarding questions about the menu and they couldn’t answer the questions.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that Toast has solved is the integration process of ordering menu items and the cooks receiving the orders almost immediately.

  ### 49. Easy and fast to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel G. | Kitchen Manager ,Head chef, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Toast?**
