**What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?**

Plan is my go-to tool for proving the reach and frequency our campaigns will deliver, and it also helps me optimise our channel mix as effectively as possible. Load times are really quick, and the updated interface makes it a fast, straightforward job to get everything done.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

Having to manually enter my media every time can be tedious and a bit frustrating.

**What problems is TelmarHelixa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Plan helps us demonstrate the reach of our individual campaigns against our competitors. I like that we can include our off-platform promotion (e.g., Facebook and Spotify) to extend our reach further, and the level of granularity in the sections we can drill into lets us get really specific. We sometimes struggle with the perception that our reach isn’t as strong as other media owners, but with Plan’s metrics we can push back on that and support our story with data.

**What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?**

TelmarHelixa offers a comprehensive list of affinity data, enabling us to construct a more robust audience profile. This is particularity valuable for identifying cohorts that may be challenging to find using traditional syndicated research methods. The extensive affinity data allows for a more accurate understanding of niche audiences and fandoms. Furthermore, I value the MRI Fusion feature which allows us to easily replicate audiences using the same parameters. The set-up and UI are also very user friendly.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

I am happy to see they are expanding their data sources beyond X, but would like to see more robust sample sizes for other data sources which would allow me to leverage these across complicated or niche audiences. It would also be great if the MRI Fusion worked across other data sources.

**What problems is TelmarHelixa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find TelmarHelixa provides a nuanced view of consumer behavior, filling affinity gaps compared to syndicated sources. It offers a comprehensive affinity data list, helping us build robust audience pictures and understand niche audiences better with accurate insights.

I also appreciate that TelmarHelixa empowers multiple teams - strategists, influencer teams, and media planners - ensuring cross-functional use and consistency in our recommendations. **What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?**

I find the platform intuitive to use, which is great. It gives me a clear view of how different layers of a plan culminate into one total, which is super useful. The layout is pretty clear and easy for my team and I to work with. Plus, you can see in real time how audience delivery performs based on each layer of a plan added. The initial setup was very easy because a member of the team at Telmar explained the process to us.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

The audience creation could be more intuitive, especially when combining audiences and selecting options like 'all adults', which is hidden within the sex dropdown. It would be better if it were simpler for team members not well-versed with the platform. Also, the AND / OR feature for combining audiences could have some visualization to show how those options affect the audience representation.

I use TelmarHelixa for combining audience deliveries across different channels, providing clients with reach figures for large campaigns. It offers an intuitive platform that lets my team and me see real-time audience delivery performance, making planning clear and effective.

I like the dynamic of adding and being proactive about our requests. The account manager and client services for TelmarHelixa are top of class. I didn't have any issue at all during the initial setup; it was easy and a pretty straightforward process for us.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

One thing that I think could improve is how they manage historical data. It's not clear how I can look back on different metrics and compare 'apple to apples' to see the progress and growth on certain metrics.

I use TelmarHelixa for audience and demographic data analytics, especially for smaller clients lacking data. It's helpful for research with its easy-to-digest EC dashboard and social listening capabilities, making data accessible and exportable.

I also appreciate that you can curate your own template, making it easy to get exactly what you need. The setup was incredibly easy, and attending a training session helped kick-start using the platform effectively.

Helixa has some of the best features which make it different from others, like Analyzing audience, viewing their personality attributes, demographics, consumer behaviour etc. It is also beneficial because it gives predefined summary reports, defines promotional strategies, and much more.

I do not find anything wrong or dislike about the helixa and am happy using it. Other factors can make it disliked by some people depending on their usage, like cost, ease of use, etc.

Helixa was like a personal assistant who helped me with promotional and expansion opportunities and gained insights into perspective clients via records, graphs, charts etc. It also assists in designing customer personas based on their interest, psychographics and demographics data on a single portal.

Helixa offers a very user-friendly and functional interface with little training required. The output is very visually appealing and allows you to double-click into individual attributes of interest.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

Helixa's methodology isn't as clear as other platforms. They note their reliance on Twitter data (overlayed with other datasets, i.e. census)  which may be troublesome in the future. Additionally, it's difficult to find the full question/statements for some attributes which makes it difficult to fully understand what a particular trait actually means.

I love finding any specific information or data on a niche audience. There are so many categories and media consumption options to choose from, which allows me to get a very in-depth picture of who I'm targeting.

There are so many areas that the site has data on that I'm not even aware of. I think the search tool could be improved so that you can ask a specific question for the type of data you want to find and easily locate it. Right now, the search tool is very sensitive and can be hard to use if you don't use the right grammar or spelling when searching.

I would definitely recommend looking through all the categories to find all the potential data out there.

Ability to very quickly gather insights into audiences and media consumption habits. Really great for early stage strategic development for new products and offerings. I've been able to provide clients with insights about their audiences that are immediately actionable.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

Nothing to dislike, but you have to formulate queries -- the tool doesn't lead you, you have to engage with it. That's not a problem for me, but some of the junior people on my team sometimes need guidance. I can usually spare them the five minutes to get them on track.

**What problems is TelmarHelixa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Why does anyone use research: to learn about audiences. What they like, how they use products, what types of content do they consume. The mixture of data sources from social, MRI/GfK, and demo sources to properly weight samples is unique and transforms it beyond being a fancy social media listening tool into a sound research tool we can use quickly and (as we are a small company) at a reasonable cost.

You can see what peoples interests are and find demographic data and pair it with other interests and see what's related.  This is a very unique tool and I haven't found anything similar.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

I wish the output could be more editable when you export it.  It works properly for it's purpose but I wish definitions could be clearer.

If you have trouble finding stories for a specific sales pitch when no other sources work, this is a great alternative to debunk objections.  This can lead to new clients in different categories.

**What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?**

It's an intuitive platform that allows me to get an audience's interests and affinities quickly. The ability to share views and dashboards without via URL without needing the people I'm sharing it with to create an account is handy as well.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

The US-only nature of the platform can be a barrier to more global targeting efforts. Helixa is weighted to be US representative as well between a certain age demographic. Still, given the platform now relies primarily on Twitter as its data source, it's not fully clear to me how confident I should be to lean on the data as a 'social media only' source or a general consumer source.

**What problems is TelmarHelixa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When there's an 'interest' that isn't already being tracked in the platform, it needs to be manually requested and can take days to be added. In addition, the interest needs to have a Twitter account to be added. Not all 'interests' I need to be added have Twitter accounts and thus makes the tool not useful for those scenarios. The 'Conversations' feature of the tool isn't all that intuitive to use either. For those familiar with boolean, you might be frustrated with their 'conversations' feature and the syntax.

**What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?**

The help desk are very helpful and answer questions quickly, they also answer the phone quickly which is great if you’re in a rush. The vast array of data sources is also good including TGI, pamco, click stream etc. Once you know how to use the data it becomes easy to use. There is lots of data to segment on such as demographic, acorn groups, income etc which is helpful due to the range of clients we work on. It’s great to be able to create multiple audiences within one run so you can directly compare to each other. It’s also very useful to be able to re name columns when you’ve added multiple filters to make it very clear what it is in a snapshot.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

Sometimes it is difficult to mine through the data to find what you need, this is even more so if you are looking for new ideas or inspiration and so are not sure what exact terms to search for. Especially when looking at more qualitative data like TGi lifestyle statements. Takes a while to understand how the system works. Sometimes the search button is difficult as you must remember to reset before searching again. It can take a while to load each new page which can be frustrating if in a rush.

Ensure you have proper training and don’t be afraid to keep using it. It is good to get experience and try new capabilities to build confidence. Also use the help desk if needs be as they’re very useful.

**What problems is TelmarHelixa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to understand our brands audience so we can better plan media for them. We can input demographics and location and lifestyle attributes in order to understand what media they are consuming, when and with whom. I’ve realised how intricate the data sources are, for instance the time parting data is fascinating to see how people consumer media throughout a day and where the peaks and troughs are.

**What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?**

It is a really helpful aid for making our media decisions due to the ability to do in depth scenario planning. The reach numbers for so many different media types means that we can develop rigorous plans that are targeting the right people across a variety of platforms. Without this tool it is extremely difficult to calculate the overall impact that our media plans would have holistically. 

It is also extremely useful for understanding the marketing opportunity available to us. For example, we can calculate who is consuming the products we are looking to sell and therefore use this information to calculate the audience which would give us the most opportunity to target. 

Also, by using the survey data we are able to calculate lots of information about the audience we are wanting to target, where they are likely to consume and the time of day or week they are consuming.

The tools are very clunky - particularly Media Planner +. It is very slow and likely to corrupt - often I have had long runs that have then corrupted and have sometimes been impossible to retrieve. It takes a long time to load old runs, and often requires contacting support services to be able to get it running again.

When using Telmar, I would recommend always saving your runs throughout your working so as not to lose anything important. I would also recommend contacting the Telmar support team for anything that goes wrong as they are extremely responsive and very helpful.

Creating addressable targets allows us to calculate awareness and reach for specific and highly targeting audiences across multiple media - enabling us to make the best media decisions.

I like Telmar's crosstab interface and its ability to allow me to use its platform to analyze/crosstab data from different databases.  It allows me to take Scarborough data or MRI data or data from other providers and run crosstabs on a single platform.  It allows me not to have to subscribe to numerous crosstab platforms -- just the one from Telmar.  I like that by subscribing to Telmar, other sources of information are provided to me within its system.

I sometimes wish that the charges for formatting certain databases into a format that Telmar can read were less expensive.

**What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?**

I like the range of categorical data that you can garner from the platform and the many helpful data display and visualization tools.  Telmar also provides trainings in person and have a very flexible schedule to train users and teams over the phone and are swift in responding to unique / individual questions or obstacles that arise.  Telmar is easy to get a hang of and can be a great tool to apply to research on a daily basis.  Telmar also frequently updates it's tools and offerings; it gets better, faster, and stronger all the time.  I like the sense of security I feel with using the Telmar platform, there are so many variables to sift through and ways to compare target segments, it's just so insightful especially when comparing data from different time periods, regions, genders, age groups, etc.  I would recommend this platform to anyone conducting market research.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

Depending on where you work or who you are working with, certain people have certain experience with either more dated versions of Telmar or more frequent versions.   Some Telmar users prefer to pull data from specific program while other users might have different preferences on which Telmar program is the "standard" program, even though each is so helpful and equally valuable.  Another dislike I have about Telmar is that the platform can get overwhelmed while running a huge data pull and it will crash over and over and sometimes you have to get very creative in how to alter your data mining operation to still garner the desired data.  This could even mean breaking up a huge data pull into many smaller pulls - it can be frustrating when the request for that data is very time sensitive.

Telmar is great for understanding who your target demo is, how to market a potential audience, as well as consumer demand drivers and and media behaviors.  Telmar has always been my go to tool when I am tasked with creating and crafting one or multiple target audience profiles - this is beneficial for a periodic internal understanding of how or if my client's target audience is shifting or adapting to new mediums or habits, etc.  What's more is that this benefit is very encouraging when providing feedback or any new market research presentation to my clients.  Telmar makes me feel secure in who I delegate must be targeted and how.

You have the ability to search individual locations for OOH, mix media reports with other Media, or get a better understanding of radio

When it comes to analyzing ooh data, there isn’t many options. Geopath is so focused on helping out agencies instead of the people that actually pay them, that their products are basically useless for us, telmar at least gives us the ability to manipulate the data in a valuable manner

Lately, they’ve tried to improve the UX but not to much success, they basically copied page by the page the geopath model, which makes sense because that’s their data set, but then didn’t add any additional features to make it more valuable and limited its ability to speak to the other applications within telmar. 

Currently the only programs in telmar i use are tops, Adplus and media360

Fortunately they updated the Citrix plugin and you don’t have to download it to login it just runs on Your browser now

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

You can drop inventory sets in, at least not in the useful version. The new side is pointless

Working with the telmar support team is always tough, because the program is running on a super old server it crashes all the time and when you need to get things reset, it’s always a hassle. We have to send at least 5 emails back and forth confirming we really need help at least once a week, the same problem has happened for the past 2 years but they act like it’s a new issue everytime we talk

When we’ve tried to schedule trainings, they have a strict training agenda. Instead of listening to our problems they show us what they want to show us and get out. We’ve had experiences asking for help in 1 area of the program and they got on and trained about a completely separate area. When it was brought up they said, today we want to train you about this, we can schedule another time to address your concerns, even though it was scheduled to address our concerns

If you are an agency, it makes a ton of sense to use and i think it has features i enjoy more than kantar. Only use tops, new OOH is a pointless addition for now until they allow it to integrate with the other features

You can mix media to see which mixes will be best for clients or help persuade them toward one medium. A friendlier way to use geopath data

Being able to show clients what their current media spend is bringing them in terms of impressions, reach, frequency, and other metrics verse what we can provide for them makes a big difference when you’re trying to convince someone to do otherwise. It adds validation to our claims and shows that we aren’t just pulling numbers out of thin air to make the sale

I appreciate how easily Telmar organizes collected data to better understand different audience segments based on my chosen categories.

Telmar really has a range of data points that make it easy for anyone and everyone to find different sets of information that will help enable understand the research in hand. I was able to optimize the data points in hand and further analyze the points to look at a range of consumers and non-consumers. I basically love that there is so much data to choose and organize, and analyze data from.

I do wish that the interface could be updated to make it more visually attractive. Another issue I have is with e-telmar. I do believe that the speed of the platform is something that must be improved.

If you are looking for an efficient way to better understand your audience, better understand who is using your product(s)/ service(s), Telmar is definitely the way to go. There are no boundaries to the amount of information you can choose to collect when it comes to analyzing which competitors, other products your audience segment is using to better target your product to your audience.

I am able to understand my target audience/emerging audiences better using Telmar. Audience habits are nicely categorized, and the data values make it easy to swift through the numbers and quickly choose between my datasets.

I was hired by telmar to test and verify some process of upgrading and testing for transmission equipment. According to my experience in telco, they have an impecable quality control for managing sensitive equipment. They care for maintaning their inventory with updated releases of software and for their personnel to have good training of the process of testing and upgrading boards. 

In my opinion, they are a very reliable partner.

It has a wide variety of data sources (surveys) for you to best match your audience and question.

Although the platform is very advanced, it does take some time to get trained up and 'asking the right question' is key. You need to understand what data is available to then understand the best question to ask. All of this comes with time and experience

Telmar integrates multiple syndicated data sources. While other data sources are at Panel level, Telmar data is at aggregated level. This allows to quickly look at the dimensions of the data without having expensive tools to process panel data. Telmar also allows to filter data by industry- so you can quickly look at the questions/ dimensions of the data relevant to your client. You can perform advanced statistical analysis in the platform.

**What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?**

Reports built in platform are not easily shareable. Data is not broken out by platform- devices like mobile, computer etc.

The user interface of the portal can be improved.
