What is TeamViewer, and what problem is it built to solve?

TeamViewer is a Digital Workplace platform that connects people with technology to enable, improve, and automate digital processes. It addresses the challenge of supporting people and managing digital devices across locations, helping organizations prevent and resolve disruptions.

What languages does TeamViewer support?

TeamViewer supports 31 languages, including Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), English, French, German, and others.

What company sizes and industries is TeamViewer the best fit for?

Positive reviewer profiles span small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises, with small businesses appearing most prominently. Industries with visible representation include IT and software, manufacturing and industrial operations, and accounting and education.
  • Small businesses: Organizations with 50 or fewer employees are the most prominent size segment.
  • Mid-market: Organizations with 51–1,000 employees are also well represented.
  • Enterprise: Organizations with more than 1,000 employees are represented, alongside recurring feedback from IT, software, manufacturing, and industrial users.

What customer support options does TeamViewer provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

TeamViewer provides 24/7 support with a live representative. The support experience is mixed: users describe helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive assistance, while others report slow issue resolution, difficulty reaching the right person, or delays outside business hours.

What is the experience like for teams switching to TeamViewer from another tool?

Switches to TeamViewer from tools such as AnyDesk, VNC and LogMeIn products, and GoTo alternatives have been associated with a need for more reliable connections, easier management, stronger security, or features the previous tool lacked. Some transitions also reflect price or usability comparisons, so the practical change depends on what a team needs most from its remote-support workflow.

What features or capabilities could make TeamViewer even more useful?

The most useful improvements would make routine support work simpler and more dependable, especially for teams navigating the interface or connecting over weaker networks.
  • Simplify the interface: Make common device, search, and connection tasks easier to find, with more straightforward customization and navigation.
  • Improve connection performance: Reduce lag, drops, and interruptions on slower or unstable networks.
  • Make licensing clearer and more flexible: Offer simpler plan choices and pricing that works better for small teams and occasional users.

Is TeamViewer considered safe and secure for handling data?

TeamViewer users describe security as a strength, pointing to password controls, account verification, and confidence during remote support. However, some raise concerns about connections that may not always require a password, privacy during remote sessions, and the need for clearer safeguards. Those mixed experiences make access policies and security settings important to assess for the intended use.

"It does everything at a high level"

What do you like best about TeamViewer?

It just works, yes, it has issues sometimes, but its usually easy to talk the customer through getting it running again, then it works, if its run at start up, you can answer the UAC Prompts which other programs just show a black screen, the management interface is good, search and group computers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

It sometimes crashes, or fails to update properly leaving it not running, but you can usually talk the person through getting the Quick Support to get you connected. Like every other program, they update the main interface with out seeming to ask anyone, which is annoying, it would be nice if we can just stick with them improving issues in the current version rather than implementing new features that just dont seem to have been thought out or work properly

We are currently stuck with half our devices in a managed state and half in the legacy state, thank god for the search function

and the ability to delete devices is currently not 100£ working which is annoying Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable and Secure Remote Access Solution for Daily Customer Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

TeamViewer is an excellent remote access solution that we use every day to support our customers. It provides fast, stable, and secure connections, which is essential when working on high-security access control systems. The software is easy to deploy, user-friendly, and allows us to troubleshoot issues quickly without traveling on-site. We also appreciate its unattended access feature and compatibility across multiple operating systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

The main drawback is the new interface. The previous computer and device list was more readable and easier to navigate, especially when managing a large number of customer systems. While the new design looks modern, it requires more clicks and makes it slightly less efficient for daily use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Valeria Di Prisco of TeamViewer

"Support for ERP users"
5/5
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

TeamViewer is really easy to use. A client calls me, reads out their ID and password, and I connect to their computer instantly. I can navigate their screens, see exactly what the client is doing, and help them with whatever they are stuck on. My team and I have been using TeamViewer for about ten years, and we have never experienced a connection drop. Even clients who don't have TeamViewer installed yet can easily download and set it up. The device list is also a useful feature for connecting to devices we access frequently; it allows for faster connections without the client needing to read out access details. In addition to PCs, we also use TeamViewer to connect to Android devices running our WMS application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

The only thing I would add is the ability—if the user has multiple monitors—to have those monitors displayed simultaneously across multiple monitors on my end as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ying Qin of TeamViewer

Hello Dean,

Thank you for your fantastic review and for trusting TeamViewer for the past ten years. We're delighted to hear that TeamViewer continues to help you support ERP users efficiently through reliable connections, easy setup, and quick access to client devices.

It's especially rewarding to know that TeamViewer plays such an important role in helping you resolve issues, answer questions, and support your clients remotely. We also appreciate your feedback regarding multi-monitor workflows and thank you for sharing your suggestion.

"Great and Fast Set up"
3.5/5
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

TeamViewer is incredibly easy to set up and get running instantly. The quick-support module allows me to connect to clients and colleagues within seconds without them needing a complex installation. The interface is intuitive, and features like file transfer, clipboard sharing, and cross-platform connectivity (connecting from Windows to Mac or mobile) work very reliably during standard support sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

The pricing model has become quite expensive for smaller teams and occasional users over the years. Additionally, the performance and screen-refresh rate can drop significantly if either side has a suboptimal internet connection, leading to noticeable input lag. I also find the frequent pop-ups and license reminders a bit intrusive when ending a session. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ying Qin of TeamViewer

Hi TeamViewer user,

Thank you for your thoughtful review.

We're pleased to hear that TeamViewer's ease of setup, QuickSupport capabilities, and cross-platform functionality help your team provide efficient remote support. It's great to know that these features allow you to resolve technical issues faster and simplify support for users who may not be comfortable troubleshooting on their own.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding pricing, connectivity-related performance, and license notifications. Customer feedback plays an important role in helping us improve the user experience.

"Reliable Remote Access for Distributed Library Kiosks"
3.5/5
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

Reliable unattended remote access for Windows kiosk PCs, easy deployment, works across many different network architectures without complex VPN setup, and generally stable performance for daily support tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

Occasionally, a device shows as online but cannot be reached. In some cases, the issue resolves itself after waiting a few hours; in others, it may require a restart or local intervention. This is inconvenient when supporting unattended kiosk machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ying Qin of TeamViewer

Hi There,

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We're pleased to hear that TeamViewer's unattended access, easy deployment, and cross-network connectivity help you support library kiosks and remote devices while saving time and travel costs.

We appreciate you also highlighting the occasional connectivity issue when a device appears online but cannot be reached. We understand the impact this can have in unattended environments, and we're grateful for the feedback.

It's great to hear that TeamViewer is supporting both your daily Windows administration tasks and your experimentation with Linux and embedded devices.

"Reliable remote support with strong security and management features"
4/5
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

TeamViewer provides a reliable and straightforward way to support customers and manage remote systems. Connections are usually established quickly, even across different networks and without complex firewall configuration.

I particularly value the central device management, unattended access and the ability to secure company accounts with multi-factor authentication. It is a useful tool for daily IT support, especially when managing many different customer environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

The licensing model and pricing can be difficult to understand and comparatively expensive, especially when additional users, channels or management features are required.

The management interface has also become quite complex over time, and some settings are not always located where you would expect them. Occasionally, device assignments or account permissions require more administrative effort than necessary.

I personally prefer the classic interface and usually switch back to it whenever possible, as I find it clearer and more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Valeria Di Prisco of TeamViewer

"Usually works, but the new version can have connection issues"
3.5/5
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

The abillity to support someone from a distance. To transfer files to and from them when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

Connection problems, new version feels a lot more complicated and takes up a lot more of the screen. And the fact that there's no "simple" version at a lower price. I only need, remote control, file transfer, and the abillity to keep a few hundred computers in my "phone-book". I don't do meetings, communicatie with the user via Teamviewer, etc. AI featues also don't interest me. A lot of my customers are individuals, not companies. So keep it simple.

Also, getting a meeting with an account manager is really difficult, being a small customer and all. I have been using TV for more than 10 years now, it feels the company has gotten so big, that all personal attention has left the building. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Valeria Di Prisco of TeamViewer

What do you like best about TeamViewer?

I like how straightforward TeamViewer is for remote support and accessing my work PC remotely. The setup is relatively simple, and it is convenient when I need to access my computer or help troubleshoot an issue without being physically in front of the system. The remote connection and control features are the main things I find useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

The overall experience has been good, but the interface could be a little simpler and more streamlined. There are quite a few options available, and it can take some time to understand where everything is, especially for occasional users. Performance can also vary depending on the network connection, so improvements in responsiveness on slower connections would be useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ying Qin of TeamViewer

Hi Amithkumar,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We truly value your feedback.

"Best Remote control & File Sharing App"
4/5
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

TeamViewer is the best app for remote desktop connections. Just share TeamViewer ID and password of the person you want to take control of pc. That's it. The best part is that it keeps changing your password whenever you close and start the application, so the security is also maintained, or else anyone can connect to your pc any time. Also, in their new update, you can copy and paste data directly from 1 pc to another. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

A few security issues were present, but TeamViewer solved them by generating or refreshing passwords at set intervals, so now your password changes at regular intervals. Costs are high after the free plan; the free plan allows only 3 devices to be remotely controlled after logging in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Valeria Di Prisco of TeamViewer

Hello Mayank,

Thank you for sharing your experience with TeamViewer.

We’re happy to hear that you find TeamViewer easy to use and reliable for remote desktop connections. It’s great that features like ID-based access, automatic password changes, and secure copy‑paste between devices are working well for you.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding past security concerns and pricing. Security is a top priority for us, and we’re pleased that improvements, such as regularly rotated passwords, have helped address those concerns. Your comments on the free plan and device limits are well noted. Feedback like this helps us better understand how users experience our plans and where we can continue to improve.

Best regards,
