**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

Customer support and reliability has been excellent.  Whenever we have had problems (which has been seldom and more related to our DirecTV boxes) customer support has been very responsive to get our issue resolved.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

I do not really have much to complain about regarding SnapStream.  If I had to pick something, I would say the the user interface could be better.  Sometimes it is hard to dig down to the settings you want.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company tries to stay on top of the latest news media.  This helps a relatively small team track several news stations at once.  Without SnapStream, this would be quite difficult.

  ### 2. I love Snapstream! I use it almost, if not daily to pull video clips for my organization.

**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

I like how easy it is to use. It is convenient to trim videos by seconds or frames, so I can easily shorten videos without moving to a third-party app. I also really like the auto-transcription and auto-scroll features. I also like that you can post videos to social media directly from Snapstream

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

Sometimes loading can be slow, or the platform can be glitchy, but luckily this does not happen often. Also the auto-transcribing is not always accurate, but since it's often live-recording, it's understandable.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My organization uses SnapStream to live clip videos and publish breaking news content. It's far more efficient and reliable than screen-recording or downloading videos from the internet.

**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

The ease of learning for a new user is one of the most powerful aspects of this tool! We regularly add new users, and they can begin clipping videos almost immediately after logging in.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

While SnapStream has an incredibly friendly user interface, the feature set can be a bit limiting, and creating automated workflows is a bit confusing. Otherwise, SnapStream is great!

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our bandwidth to create short-form content was fairly narrow. Once we implemented SnapStream, we were able to 10x our weekly output of content. This has enabled us to provide the content needed to grow our social media tribe as well as viewership on YouTube through gaining viewers through YouTube Shorts.

**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

I like that you can search captions, that it's pretty easy to navigate and is user-friendly.  It's simple to learn, even if you're teaching yourself.  It's a quick and easy way to pull clips to send to clients or include in a presentation.  That's the best part.  I also love that I can send links via email and the recipient can view the clip without needing to have an account with SnapStream.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

I dislike that it's not real accurate when searching captions.  It catches some of them but not all, so I've found that it would be hugely helpful if that could get more accurate.  Also, it skips whole scenes when fast-forwarding or rewinding at 3x.  I do wish I could fast forward and rewind or honestly just drag a bar to do so while not missing any of the video.  That is the biggest dislike because that would save SO much time when searching for something.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SnapStream is allowing me access to pull proof-of-performance clips for our clients or review video game footage as I work remotely.  That is hugely beneficial.

Simple interface, and easy configuration, limitless view and sharing.

The connect to the TV boxes, the lack of visablity when it goes down and why.

It recorder all the news for us from all the local channels. It then captures all the closed captioning and set us a  report of any keywords that are said.

The ability to easily clip and share video to social media. The tech support and customer service are top-notch and have gone above and beyond for us multiple times.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

The fact that it is not entirely cloud-based the need to use a large piece of physical equipment that looks and acts like it is from an older technological era.

We are solving the problem of getting real-time coverage to our audience, and we have seen the added benefit of increased social media influence and more unique stories for our platform.

**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

It has simulataneous transcription that is relatively accurate, which is extremely helpful for a reporter that is writing during an event.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

If I click out of the stream that I'm listening to and and come back to it, the previously transcribed items are no longer there. 
It would also be helpful if along with transcription, the audio was recorded so we could click on the transcribed words and hear the audio in order to check it against the transcription.

Accuracy on text transcripts with radio programs.

It can be wonky at times yet SnapStream these things should not happen but they do.

It can create text from audio which is what our customers want. They do not want video files just text.

So expensive so limited options for channnels.

**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

Television is one of the most difficult things to study because it is hard to track down reliable transcripts without sifting through hours of footage. SnapStream solves that problem and helps researchers find answers to questions they didn't know they could ask.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

As with any system for storing and clipping television content, it takes up a lot of space and requires lots of storage. If it were possible to compress the files more effective it would be easy to use.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I study media and politics and often end up focusing on newspapers because television data is hard to make manageable. Snapstream's media monitoring service gives me the content I need to do the research.

SnapStream makes collecting data (shows, movies, etc) a breeze. It all happens with a few mouse clicks. Customer support is excellent.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

The cost--this is not a service that many small schools or departments can afford.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before snapstream, I would have to record shows across various dvrs. This is a one stop shop that also allows one to download and share recordings. Genius.

I like how simple and easy to navigate the platform is. The tools are self-explanitory.

Sometimes it can be pretty buggy. Sometimes it says posts fail to post when they actually do, so be sure to double check things.

It worked seamlessly with my school's broadcast organization. I was able to learn more skills and it provided the service I was looking for in order to work on the program.

Snapstream is truly unique in its functionality and accessibility. While competitors lack the ability to clip and tweet video (live and taped), I have it at my fingertips and the ability to post them in seconds as well as be cited by websites across the spectrum. It's central to my job.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

Many of the updates take some getting used to. And oftentimes, updates cause problems internally and take longer than predicted.

**Recommendations to others considering SnapStream:**

Be sure to take time to explore all its features. Time with the product will yield the best results.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to find, locate, clip, and share key moments in the news cycle provide us the chance to publish the best possible product in our blogs and studies. Using the closed captioning gives a head-start in giving readers the most accurate transcripts possible so they can always see the full context. And on Twitter, we benefit in terms of prestige, reliability, and introducing ourselves to new audiences, even ones who disagree with us politically.

The support was very organized, making the transition easy.

Only having one cable provider on the cloud

**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

Easy to understand search tools, great monitoring set-up, and highly adjustable clipping tools. Overall, a very great, accessible product!

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

The transcripts can be iffy to atrocious at times-- and day-to-day, even hour-to-hour quality varies greatly, even for the same show. I frequently encounter transcripts with significant spelling errors, missing words/sentences, run-on paragraphs, and a complete lack of differentiation between speakers. Worse, there's been times when spaces or words are replaced with "&." This significantly interrupts my workflow and causes massive headaches for me and my colleagues. I'm not sure what AI or other technology snap is using to create transcripts, but it lacks accuracy and consistency-- especially for fast speakers, ramblers, mumblers, and people with accents.

**Recommendations to others considering SnapStream:**

The program is 100% worth it.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snapstream makes my job easier by enabling me to quickly find and track guest appearances, narratives, and specific conspiracy theories in real time. I can easily create clips to share with my organization.

Sometimes the in and out points are not very precise and it's difficult when clips go over the break in streams.

We had a specific need for a system that could give us closed caption support, and Snapstrem was able to deliver on a predictable budget with predictable results.

We did have to offer some training to users on the basics of operation, some extra documentation or the ability to disable/slim down the UI would be nice for novice users.

There are a few flaws.  You can't enable transcriptions when setting up a recording from the guide.  You aren't warned if you try to set up a recording beyond the limit in your system -- leading you incorrectly to believe all recordings would take place.

**What do you like best about SnapStream?**

Number one, we’re saving ourselves a couple of hours of work AFTER the show airs. By the time the show ends, we’ve basically already created and pushed out all the content we needed from that episode.

And number two, because of the caliber of guests on the show, The MMA Hour can be a major source of news, information, interesting stories and of course, we want to get all of that out on our social platforms before anyone else

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

Sometimes when you start clipping, the clip doesn't appear in the same browser window. I have to open a new window to see that clip and download it.

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before SnapStream, our social team would be watching, probably making notes and marking timestamps of social-worthy clips and quotes to pull from a live podcast. When the show ends, we would wait for the footage, download it, and then start clipping in premiere, making relevant graphics and THEN finally start pushing content out to social. So even after a 4 hour show, where we couldn’t do much but listen there was still several hours of work left to do.

My favorite aspect of SnapStream is the clipping feature. It functions similar to any editing program, allowing the user to simply choose which parts of each clip they'd like to download. Then, the downloaded file is easy to import into any editing software and get started.

The only possible downside to the program is it can look a bit overwhelming at first. However, I learned quickly just how simple using Snapstream is, and I have not looked back since!

I'm primarily using SnapStream to find extra b-roll for packages for my journalism classes. Rather than scrounging around the entire Internet, Snapstream provides a variety of resources to pull from right away to enhance my material.

SnapStream Cloud's service powered by our in-office encoders has given our remote team the ability to monitor previously in-office recordings in a massively beneficial way. When something goes wrong (which is rare), SnapStream's friendly Technical Support Team is on it and helps us resolve the issue quickly. The process for clipping recordings is quick and easy to transfer into video editing software.

**What do you dislike about SnapStream?**

I can't think of a bad thing to say about SnapStream. Every once in a while, we have to reboot our encoders as they run 24/7, but that's mainly regarding our in-office team not checking the hardware very regularly.

**Recommendations to others considering SnapStream:**

Get the encoder hardware and send your recordings to the Cloud. We started with the on-premises server deployment but have found the Cloud a better solution (for our needs, at least).

**What problems is SnapStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SnapStream helps us build a library of news clips for research that we can refer to from as far back as two months ago and use in our programming. SnapStream Cloud has allowed our remote staff to do this task as if they were in the office.

The searchable database and transcripts make it very easy to find the exact clips you're looking for. And marking the start and endpoints of clips is great for making playlists.

Older clips can be a little sluggish when loading (anything before 2017). And some of the transcripts can bungle proper nouns. Overall it's not a huge issue but could be more precise like Nexis.

Snapstream is great for confirming an idea based on research. Its search parameters allow you to find exactly what you're looking for so you can identify how long a topic has been in the news and what the context around it is.

Snapstream as a video monitoring and clipping software is vital in a content creation world. Where breaking news or viral moments can be captured and published in minutes. The workflow is simple, efficient, and oh-so-fast.

There is so much to like that any sort of flaw with SnapStream is minor. Would love for the transcript to identify speakers, but the live transcription service as a whole works as it needs to and as it should.

SnapStream solves the never-ending race of getting content out as quickly as possible. Snapstream is super easy to use and has many useful features. I was able to fully understand how to use it after practicing on the website for just 10 minutes.

There isnt anything that i dislike. The only annoying thing is that the time of program is listed in Pacific Standard time, not Eastern time. But not a big deal

The downsides of using SnapStream are the download methods via email which can take quite a while to send. Though, there are other methods that are pretty useful.

Chronic bugs affect transcription that don't seem to improve over time through machine learning. Being able to upload original audio or stream events that were streamed on Youtube or other platforms would also be helpful.
