Simplygon is 3D computer graphics software for automatic 3D optimization, based on proprietary methods for creating levels of detail (LODs) through Polygon mesh reduction and other optimization techniques. Since the launch of Simplygon, the product has been licensed by a number of AAA game studios,[1][2][3][4] for multi-platform games,[5][6] and used in areas such as architecture, 3D CAD, 3D scan, 3D web and 3D printing. The algorithms in Simplygon are designed to also optimize different type of input forms, and a number of visualization projects outside gaming are currently deploying this technology in areas such as architecture, 3D CAD, 3D scan, 3D web and 3D printing.

What do you like best about SIMPLYGON?

A great tool to create low polygon count & high material quality 3D assets. Provides an API, making it easy to create automated workflows. I have never seen a tool that can produce high-quality assets with a polygon count this low. It can bring down 3M polygons to 1.5k without a visible quality loss. Furthermore, the staff is very helpful, gets back to you on issues and guides you through workflow creation processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SIMPLYGON?

On some occasions, SIMPLYGON causes defects in optimized materials. The problem generally occurs in textures with extreme specular or translucent properties. However, we have reached out to the SIMPLYGON team, and they are working on a solution for this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SIMPLYGON solving and how is that benefiting you?

3D assets with high polygon count and texture quality have a very large file size. This makes it hard to download and render 3D assets on devices that do not have a good internet connection. Furthermore, a high poly count asset causes a large number of render calls on the processing unit. SIMPLYGON solves this issue by creating high-quality assets with a low level-of-detail. What do you like best about SIMPLYGON?

I like simplygon's ability to convert texture mapping spaces to reduced polygon topologies very successfully. The reduction algorithm also works very optimized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
