**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like that Shopify interacts and integrates with a wide variety of platforms like Alibaba, Facebook, and Twitter, allowing me to post to a lot of different sites. I can easily list and manage my inventory, which is great because I don't have to monitor it manually. The pay gate isn't overly heavy or complicated, making transactions smoother. I find it very easy to advertise using Google AdSense. Overall, it's user-friendly for e-commerce, meshes well with other platforms, and the initial setup was very easy, taking only about fifteen minutes to get up and running.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

I think the pricing could be just a little bit cheaper. They do have a discount now that is for a dollar for three months. But when you're just starting out, you just don't have the budget to pay for an expensive web. So if they could just lower that for the small businesses for the first several months.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify because its ready-made templates, quick product uploads, inventory tracking, and integrated payment system make it easy for me to sell yoga pants globally and keep things moving at a fast pace.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I love Shopify's customization abilities, particularly how I can tinker with the code to create my own style, rather than being limited to preset designs. The interface is very straightforward, which really helps. I appreciate how Shopify makes the inventory process very easy, especially when dealing with trading cards that have so many variations. The collections feature for inventory is really helpful. Additionally, the ability to export inventory via CSV makes accessing and implementing it much simpler. Lastly, the initial setup of Shopify is really simple, especially if you're using the most basic website layouts without any coding experience.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

I think that the process could be a bit more streamlined. I had a lot of trouble learning the custom liquid code. It takes a long time and there are some glitchy aspects. For example, one of my items was not being shown and it said sold out, even though the code indicated there were items left. It didn't tell me why, and I had to figure out that it was due to the shipping location. Also, the AI chatbot doesn't really help fully.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify makes inventory management easy, especially for trading cards, and allows me to customize my site with Liquid code. It simplifies the importing process compared to Weebly.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I really appreciate Shopify's perfect balance between a user-friendly UI/UX for merchants and a powerful, developer-friendly backend. The extensive app ecosystem and seamless integration offer unlimited customizations, which is incredibly valuable as it allows me to connect my store to essential tools like marketing and shipping instantly, ensuring a smooth workflow. I also love the robust API environment, Liquid templating language, and the flexibility to deploy custom features much faster than other platforms. Shopify's performance and design make it easy to scale a business while maintaining a professional storefront. The centralized dashboard for inventory, payments, and shipping simplifies e-commerce management. As a developer, I find it eliminates the headache of maintaining server infrastructure, allowing me to build custom features. Additionally, the initial setup was incredibly straightforward, and I could get the basic storefront and payment gateway running in no time.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

While the online storefront is highly customizable, I find that the Shopify POS apps have fewer modification features for custom development. Like the ability to add custom tiles or data fields, more button customization options, and a more streamlined way to maintain UI consistency between the custom POS extension and the native Shopify design language.

Shopify centralizes inventory, payments, and global shipping, solving fragmented ecommerce management. It eliminates server infrastructure maintenance, allowing focus on custom feature development. Shopify provides a secure, high-performing checkout, building customer trust.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

There are a lot of things I like about Shopify. I like the variety of apps that help me gather reviews, speed up pages, allow advance access to products to certain customers only (sneak peeks of painting collections!) and those  that allow my collectors to accrue Rewards Points then spend them with ease.
I like that Shopify organizes financial and customer information, so that I can keep track of things. That I can fulfill orders separately from shipping labels. I like that Shopify separates out shipping fees and allows for drop-shipping and working with Printful.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

My least favorite thing about Shopify is that it does not show Abandoned Carts in detail - so that I can follow up with potential customers that might have questions or issues.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify allows me to have my own store, customize it, organize it and keep it up to date and beautiful.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Shopify has been a great platform for us to build an online presence for our Gift Shop. Support has been pretty good as far as helping with reporting and the general Admin panel. Site setup has been mostly left up to us. Shopify worked with us to find a good price point that we agreed on and has been up and running now for 1 year.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

It seems like several features/reports that I would think should be available or configurable are not. For instance there is a Tip feature you can add to the customer facing register, we encourage and allow for donations and I thought I could simply edit the software to change the display from reading "Tips" to "Donations" but that is currently not possible. I will also mention that it seems like the inventory system is rather limited, almost like it expects you to keep all of one type of item in one place, without a store room location. I got around this by creating other "physical Locations" and keeping inventory there. These other locations are free but I had to be creative to accomplish it. There are many Apps to connect and add to your Shopify store but we really want to keep it as simple as possible, we try to stay away from adding additional apps that may or may not stay up to date or supported.

We needed to be able to accept all types of payments, sell tickets to events, and prepare for an informational online store to compliment our Gift Shop.

I find Shopify perfect because it offers everything needed for building and managing online shops. It includes everything from creating the website to fulfilling orders. Additionally, I like that Shopify automates everything and is customizable through the various apps. The initial setup was very easy, provided you have some technical experience and all necessary documents ready.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Occasionally, there are problems with Shopify Payments, such as Shopify Payments being deactivated from one day to the next, leaving you initially reliant only on Klarna and PayPal.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify takes away all the technical complexity of setting up and running an online store, so you only need to focus on products and marketing. It is ideal for online store owners because it covers everything – from website creation to order processing.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like how user-friendly Shopify is. It's very easy to learn, even with no web experience. I'm not a web developer, but I was able to figure it out on my own. Everything can be tracked easily, and it's accurate. The initial setup was very easy, and even though it took some time, it's overall very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

When we get orders, sometimes there's no good address verification. There's no way to, for example, block PO boxes. Certain reporting issues, I suppose. You know, attribution with ads. Can't track expiry dates of products with the POs. Updating the average cost of products is something I feel would be simple but still has to be done manually.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify centralizes everything I need to operate my business like fulfilling orders, creating reports, processing payments, and tracking inventory and purchase orders.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like the ease of use of Shopify - we literally run our entire company on it, with Amazon and Tiktok also feeding back to it. It seems like they're always at the forefront of ecommerce, regularly bringing out new features for people to test. I love that Shopify is going to be the first to bring out an agentic storefront, allowing our products to be available on platforms like chat, GPT, and more. The AI assistant is another feature I really love; it helps me analyze everything very efficiently, making life easier by providing quick answers instead of digging deep into reports. The reporting system is great because the built-in reports contain a lot of what's needed. Shopify is just miles better than WooCommerce, where we had to do everything manually. I really like Shopify overall and consider myself a big fan.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

I think the fact that when something is not a feature, well, sometimes there are easy workarounds to get it sorted. Other times, it's, like, most insane coding that you have to do. Something I stumbled upon recently is Shopify doesn't have a feature to exclude products that are already on sale from discount codes. That is crazy to me. There should just be one very simple button to press that excludes products that are already on sale from discount codes. But alas, there's no such thing, you have to create a whole new collection and then exclude that collection from the discount codes, which is easy enough. However, it doesn't work when different variants of a product are on sale. So I haven't found a solution to that other than manually excluding the product from the discount codes applying to it, which for a platform that big a crazy thing not to have.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify saves us many admin hours with its efficient integration, eliminating manual tasks. It enhances efficiency in dispatching orders and reporting, and its SEO boosted our rankings immediately after switching from WooCommerce.

I like Shopify because it is cost-affordable and allows you to choose a plan that suits your needs without requiring a significant upfront investment. It's straightforward to set up a Shopify store, where I can quickly create products, collection categories, and visualize how the commerce experience will look on the front end. I find the marketplace apps to be very rich, offering plug-and-play features that can scale horizontally as the business grows. Shopify's robust API system allows easy integration with third-party apps, covering a wide range of use cases from CRMs to ERP, which makes it versatile. I also enjoy the ease of onboarding; it's very fast.

The Shopify headless areas can be a bit improved because the liquid storefront has some drawbacks of performance. It would be really great if Shopify focuses a lot on headless environments.

In my experience, Shopify is useful for quickly setting up and managing an online store without needing to handle too many technical steps. What I find helpful is how it keeps different aspects like product listing, order tracking, and basic design customization in one place. One thing I’ve noticed is that while it works well for standard setups, making more specific customizations can require additional effort or dependency on apps. Sometimes adjusting the layout exactly the way I want takes a bit of trial and adjustment.

Also, as more features or apps are added, it can become slightly harder to keep track of everything in one place. It’s not a major issue, but it does require some attention to maintain a clean and organized setup.

Before using Shopify, managing product information and presenting it in a structured way required more manual effort and coordination. It was difficult to keep everything consistent, especially when updates were needed frequently.

With Shopify, I’m able to manage product content, organize information clearly, and make updates without affecting the overall flow. In my work, this helps in maintaining a more structured approach to presenting information, which improves clarity and reduces rework. It also allows me to focus more on content and organization rather than handling technical setup separately.

For the most part, everything is built in and ready to go. It's quick and easy to onboard. It covers inventory tracking, fulfillment tracking, billing tracking, and more. Creating products and getting them onto the site is easy, and even developing themes is pretty straightforward. Shopify has a lot of flexibility with customizations and the performance is unmatched. The new AI features have been a great help, very powerful.

A lot of functionality requires the use of apps, which is not necessarily the worst, but adds cost and complexity due to needing to manage other systems.

Shopify is essentially a one-stop shop for all eCommerce needs. Headaches we have with other platforms are handled with ease on Shopify. Shopify's AI allows us to get things done faster.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Shopify is my go-to solution for creating ecommerce websites via their headless and admin API. With their headless and admin API, everything becomes really flexible and easy to work with NextJS. I can freely design my UI and business logic with the power of nextjs while also leaving the complexities of making an inventory system, CMS and product management part to shopify. I use shopify as ecommerce solution in almost all my ecommerce projects. While the implementation can be a bit complicated in the beginning, it gets really easy with time. Their customer support can be a bit slow but they get the job done.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Shopify have some endpoints only available to their graphql API. I would love to have all the endpoints in their REST API as well. Another thing is their multipass login system which is only available in their plus plan.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify is solving some of the major problems like inventory management, caching, handling payments as well as customer management and blog CMS.

The best thing about Shopify is how quickly and easily we can go from zero to building a real, fully functional store whether it’s setting up product pages, checkout flows, or even payment gateways. The drag-and-drop store builder is really good, and it lets us customize landing pages and run campaigns without writing code. Overall, the platform is very easy to use, and the customer support is also excellent.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

One thing I don’t like is that the transaction fees become too much as we scale, so our margins end up being smaller.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Shopify, onboarding a new client to e-commerce used to take a long time often more than a few weeks and setting up everything, like the payment gateway and other configurations, took even more time. With Shopify, the whole process now takes only a few days, while still allowing the customizations our clients need. This flexibility adds real value for our clients, such as using metafields and Flow automations, which help deliver a smooth checkout experience without the client having to write complex code. As a result, we’re able to scale to more clients with a limited team.

I am a D2C owner selling fashionable outfits on Shopify. This platform helps me create my website and set up email, SMS, and other types of campaigns to attract customers. Simplicity, strong uptime, and a user-friendly experience. I also like that almost every type of team member can have a role: one person can just set up the theme, another can code to customize the theme, and another can go deeper into the code to build Shopify apps.

The biggest challenge with Shopify is that some integrations require manual setup steps for merchants. Simplifying the installation and configuration process for third-party apps would improve the experience significantly.

I like the easy website templates on Shopify and appreciate the email systems along with all the various apps. Transporting my products over and typing in descriptions of products were easy during the initial setup. Overall, Shopify is more favorable for e-commerce, which is why I switched from Wix.

Shopify allows access to a 3-day free trial, with the trial it is possible to perform the basic configurations to start selling products online. Shopify offers an ideal ecosystem for e-commerce, including inventory management, report visualization, and management of payment methods including credit cards and test payment methods in a simple and effective way. Shopify offers a layer of security, preventing common attacks on the website.

Shopify synchronizes through apps with multiple extensions, including Google Analytics and YouTube, facilitating the tracking of websites and e-commerce events.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Shopify makes it difficult to incorporate custom events into the data layer that travels to platforms like Google Tag Manager, making it complex to track and personalize the data sent to Tag Manager.

I dislike that, unless you have a dedicated dev team or team member, you end up having to rely on a lot of apps. That can get expensive and difficult to manage, and it’s not always easy to get everything to work or communicate well with each other.

There's a little bit of a learning curve to using their website editor tool. Sometimes it's hard to know how to change and edit certain aspects of your website.

Shopify is one of the best e-commerce platforms I have ever used. I switched from woocommerce and there is no looking back. The platform experience is super easy and simple to use. i didnt face too much complexity in building things like swatches and variants. In WooCommerce, it was a nightmare, but in shopify its easy and straightforward.

I don't like its over-expensive app. Sometimes, for basic things,s we need to install subscription based app that charges too much for a basic, important function. Unlike WordPress it does not offer that many plugins, but it's good.

It helps me launch my brand and get sales. i have use shopify to sell my products online. it has a very solid seo built in. it has native integration with lot of great things like merchant center, Google Ads and Meta Ads which makes my markting flow seamless. i dont need to configure too much extra things to setup these things. It has nice api which i can use in my automations to do more things like emails , offers and other customer related stuff.

With API integration, Shopify automatically fetches data from my complex ERP system, creating a fully automated system for my business. This means I only need to make changes and listings in the ERP, not in Shopify. The AI website builder understands my requirements, enhances my prompts with technical solutions, and creates customized components, turning Shopify into a no-code platform for me. It's easy to use and understand.

I think the basic utility plugin should be more free and built by Shopify. File and media management can be better. Theme updating should not change live theme design. For product edit, there should be real-time, more easy options like in Excel.

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like the themes in Shopify. I really like the fact that I can go in without any sort of coding skills and design a home page. Setting up carousels, whether it's a sliding banner, and looking at different gallery formats for a home page allows me to curate a different look for different brands. The idea of personalization is great because I have clients with different feels, and I can create something that feels quite bespoke to them with a sort of drag and drop vibe. It lets me set things up and add stuff to the page very quickly while using my creative art direction.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

If I'm doing a new product and it's similar to another product, I will find that redoing the things like meta descriptions - the SEO listing at the bottom - I seem to have to do that manually each time. But sometimes I don't know if there's a way of doing that. I mean, maybe I'm just not aware.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify allows me to quickly set up ecommerce web pages, add products, and design stores using templates. I can redesign home pages, add banners, and easily customize elements using different gallery formats or themes without coding skills.
