What is Shopify Plus, and what problem is it built to solve?

Shopify Plus is an e-commerce platform for building and running online stores. Teams use it to manage products and orders, operate checkout, and sell through online and in-store channels.

What languages does Shopify Plus support?

Shopify Plus supports 18 languages, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Danish, Dutch, and English, among others.

What company sizes and industries is Shopify Plus the best fit for?

Shopify Plus appears most relevant to smaller and mid-market businesses, with Retail, Apparel & Fashion, Consumer Goods, and Food & Beverages among the industries represented. The most common positive-user segments include:
  • Small businesses: 50 or fewer employees.
  • Mid-market: 51–1,000 employees.
  • Retail: A prominent industry among positive users.
  • Apparel & Fashion, Consumer Goods, and Food & Beverages: Also well represented.

How long does it take to implement Shopify Plus across a team?

Implementation time varies, but getting live in under a month is the most commonly reported experience. Other teams describe longer projects, particularly when the work extends across several months.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Under 1 month Most common
1–3 months Also common
3–6 months Reported less often
6–12 months or longer Reported less often

What customer support options does Shopify Plus provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support is available through 24/7 live-rep assistance, chat, phone, and a knowledge base. The experience can be very helpful and responsive, with users valuing access to a real person; however, complex or technical questions may take longer to resolve or may not receive sufficiently specialized guidance.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Shopify Plus from another tool?

Switching to Shopify Plus often means moving away from platforms such as Magento, WooCommerce, WordPress, or BigCommerce to simplify maintenance and make everyday store changes easier. The transition can bring a more manageable storefront, a broader app ecosystem, and better support for growth, but the effort depends on the migration and integration work involved.

What tools and platforms does Shopify Plus integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Shopify Plus offers 64 integrations, and users connect it with tools across marketing, business systems, and store operations.
  • Marketing and customer engagement: Klaviyo, Google Ads, and Meta.
  • ERP, finance, and tax: NetSuite and Avalara.
  • Content and commerce platforms: WordPress.org.
These connections can link marketing activity and business systems with store operations, helping teams coordinate data and workflows without building every connection from scratch.

What features or capabilities could make Shopify Plus even more useful?

Shopify Plus could be more useful with stronger built-in reporting, more flexible checkout and backend controls, and fewer workflows that depend on paid apps or custom development.
  • Reporting: Add deeper, more customizable reports, including easier exports and clearer views across stores.
  • Checkout and customization: Extend control over checkout and complex business logic without workarounds or developer help.
  • Native commerce features: Expand built-in tools for promotions, B2B requirements, and other common store workflows to reduce reliance on extra apps.

How useful do Shopify Plus users find its AI features in everyday use?

Shopify Plus’s AI tools can make routine work quicker, especially when finding information or pulling reports, but the results are not dependable enough to use without checking them. Users also apply the tools to content and operational tasks.
  • Information and reporting: Ask questions about store data or how to use the platform, and retrieve reports.
  • Content: Draft product descriptions and other store content.
  • Operational help: Assist with troubleshooting, code, apps, and workflow setup.
Usefulness varies by task: quick answers and report retrieval can save time, while inaccurate responses or unsuccessful actions may require correction.

"Shopify Plus: Easy to Manage, Highly Customizable, and Packed with Apps"
5/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

We love the customization opportunities and the amount of plug-and-play apps and add-ons available instead of building custom solutions in other platforms. I also look forward to the biannual editions with new feature releases and meeting with our Plus support team any time that it is needed. As a WYSIWYG the admin portal is super easy to navigate and we don't have to spend much time training or troubleshooting, and performance is more than satisfactory with little to no downtime on admin and front-end sites. Overall I am super happy with Shopify Plus and I recommend it to anyone I know in the e-commerce space assuming they have the revenue to support it as it can be pricey compared to other, less-comprehensive options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

There are a few downsides/trade-offs to using Shopify like the strict URL structure, we would love to drop /pages/ and /collections/ from some of our URLs, and make new ones specific to policies, etc., but I understand the indexing structure and why it is that way. Otherwise we're really happy with the amount of customization available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Store Setup and Payments, but Templates Need a Refresh"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

I find Shopify Plus easy to use, even without a UI/UX or coding background, and the interface is clear. I use it to sell my clothes online, and customers can buy directly from my website. I like having many website templates to choose from and being able to design my site the way I want. The sale timer helps create curiosity and lets customers see when a sale is happening. I also like the payment options, including Razorpay and other payment gateways, so I don’t have to go somewhere else for them. I can also see information about my customers in Shopify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

Sometimes, even though there are so many templates, I want more that feel current. Some of them seem old, I guess. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Scalable E-Commerce Made Easier, Though Advanced Setup Needs Guidance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

I like Shopify Plus for its flexibility, scalability, and strong customization options. Being able to manage products, orders, and overall store operations from one centralized platform keeps my day-to-day e-commerce work more organized and easier to handle. I also appreciate how much control I have over customizing my store and the shopping experience, along with having a platform that can support business growth as order volume increases.

The automation features help cut down on repetitive manual tasks, which saves time and can reduce operational mistakes. I’ve also found that connecting the right tools improves workflow efficiency and gives me a more complete view of my business operations. As for getting started, the initial setup felt relatively straightforward thanks to a well-organized interface and helpful setup resources, and the onboarding process was smooth overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

Some of the more advanced customization options require technical knowledge or developer support, which can make updates challenging for non-technical users. I’d really appreciate clearer, step-by-step guidance and more beginner-friendly documentation for these advanced features. Complex integrations could also be easier to manage with more detailed setup guides, practical troubleshooting instructions, and straightforward explanations of API requirements. Finally, the overall cost can be an important consideration for businesses that are still growing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Checkout Customization That Boosts Bundles and Upsells"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

Customization helps us a lot. We bundle our products and upsell both at add-to-cart and during checkout, which has been especially helpful. The main benefit for us is that we’re able to bring the sections we need into the checkout page. It’s also convenient to have multiple apps connected with one big marketplace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

Pricing is very high. They should have offered an option in between Advance and Plus, because going from $399 to $2500 is a direct jump. Also, they have withdrawn multiple features now, like thank-you page redirecting, and this should have been available by now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful, Scalable Commerce—With a Price and Complexity Tradeoff"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

I like Shopify Plus’s flexibility, scalability, and advanced customization. I can customize storefronts with Liquid, work with APIs, connect third-party apps, and use Shopify Flow to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual work. I also appreciate the checkout customization options, support for high-volume sales, reliable infrastructure, and extensive ecosystem. These features help me build customized stores and deliver better shopping experiences. The initial setup was relatively straightforward, and I found the dashboard and guided setup process user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

I find Shopify Plus expensive for small and medium-sized businesses. Some advanced customizations take extra development work or third-party apps, and working with APIs can involve rate limits and complex integrations. Theme customization and debugging can also be challenging in large, highly customized stores. Advanced configurations, API integrations, and custom checkout requirements can require additional technical knowledge. I’d like more flexible pricing, better developer documentation and debugging tools, and more built-in features so I rely less on third-party apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient, Streamlined Shopping—But Could Offer Stronger Card Privacy"
4/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

I like that Shopify Plus is streamlined and keeps my receipts, shipping information, and previous purchases in one place. I don’t have to reenter my credit card or banking information or my shipping address, and I can reorder through the app. If I have a problem with a purchase, I can contact the seller through the app instead of looking for their email or customer service number. It’s convenient and keeps things organized, and I found the initial setup very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

I don't like that I believe my credit card number is disclosed to the merchant. My statement shows the original seller's name, which is helpful for knowing what I'm being charged for, but it can make a billing dispute more complicated if my card is compromised. I like that PayPal withholds my card information from third parties, which I think offers a trust and security feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mostly solid ecommerce platform with good integrations—quirky UI and some feature gaps"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

It's a solid platform. The UI/UX is kind of quirky, but once you get used to it, they'll change it without warning, so nothing to worry about. Performance is generally good and you can integrate the platform with just about anything else you can think of, so it has that going for it. It's expensive, but worth the price. Onboarding and support are pretty good, but you interact with marketing and salespeople instead of anyone technical, so don't expect too much from the support folks. There are some basic AI capabilities, but none of them work very well (if at all) so don't look for that. Overall, it's a solid platform for ecommerce. Features and security are top-notch, many of the "bells and whistles" are more marketing that substance though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

Sometimes Shopify, as a company, seems more focused on marketing and selling their product than they are in improving their products for their users. Many feature requests and suggestions seem to be ignored despite years of pleading by users. Overall, it's a good platform despite it's shortcomings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust App Ecosystem, but Design Updates Can Be Tricky"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

I find it relatively easy to install apps that help us build and market our website and manage the site, including making updates and publishing new pages. Shopify Plus is pretty robust, and I find its many plug-and-play apps useful for marketing, loyalty and rewards, analytics and tracking, and integrations with other tools. It feels like an industry standard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

I find the design and layout options somewhat limited, especially for building modern landing pages and adding contemporary designs out of the box. Updating our chosen theme can involve tech debt, so I’d like design updates to be friendlier and quicker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Customization but Cost Model Needs Rethink"
4/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

I appreciate Shopify Plus for its extensive network and plugins, which add a lot of flexibility and functionality to my ecommerce initiatives. The platform allows us to meet our customers with a unique and customized experience, which is very valuable in our business. I find the reports and business insights particularly beneficial as they provide essential data for decision-making. Additionally, the initial setup was easy, which made the transition smooth for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

I'm not a fan of the cost model Shopify Plus uses, especially the revenue share model. It feels like we're penalized for doing more business, which isn't ideal. I'd prefer different options that don't impact us negatively as we grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifies Store Management with Minor Clutter Issues"
4/5
What do you like best about Shopify Plus?

I like Shopify Plus because it's quite efficient for handling orders and products for our online store. It makes it easy to log all the information regarding each order, which is really helpful for keeping track of everything. I also find it useful for quickly checking orders, updating products, and managing stock levels. The initial setup was fairly easy, which was a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?

Sometimes it gets cluttered, and I think it would be better if there were options to group orders, so everything looks a bit cleaner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
