## ServiceNow IT Operations Management Reviews
  ### 1. ServiceNow ITOM: Driving Visibility, Automation, and AI-Powered Operations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shubhangi G. | Sr. ServiceNow Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) stands out for delivering end-to-end visibility and proactive control across IT infrastructure. Its discovery and service mapping capabilities help organizations understand how systems and services are connected, which supports faster root cause analysis and more accurate impact assessment.

The platform’s event management features consolidate alerts from multiple tools, cutting down on noise and helping teams focus on what’s truly critical. Its integration with ITSM also improves efficiency by linking operational events directly to incidents, streamlining the path from detection to response.

A major advantage is its AI and AIOps capabilities, which enable intelligent event correlation, anomaly detection, and predictive insights. This helps identify issues earlier, group related alerts, and recommend resolutions, shifting IT operations from reactive firefighting to a more proactive approach.

In addition, built-in automation and orchestration reduce manual effort and speed up issue resolution. Overall, ITOM brings together visibility, automation, and AI-driven intelligence to improve service reliability and operational efficiency.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ServiceNow ITOM has a few notable drawbacks, starting with its high cost, particularly if you rely on advanced modules such as Discovery, Service Mapping, and AIOps. In large scale implementation projects, the implementation process can be complex and time-consuming, often requiring skilled resources as well as ongoing tuning to keep everything working as expected. In more complex environments, Discovery and service mapping may not always be fully accurate, which can lead to gaps or inconsistencies.

The platform also comes with a steep learning curve. On top of that, the AI/AIOps capabilities depend heavily on having high-quality data and the right configuration; early on, they may generate false positives or miss certain issues. Finally, performance can be impacted when large volumes of events are being processed, especially if the environment is not properly optimized.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow ITOM helps address several common challenges in IT operations, such as limited visibility, fragmented toolsets, alert overload, and overly reactive incident handling. By offering unified monitoring and service mapping, it provides clearer insight into infrastructure dependencies and supports faster root-cause analysis.

Thanks to its strong integration capabilities, ITOM can consolidate data from multiple monitoring tools into a single platform, reducing silos and improving coordination across teams. It also remains reliable under high event volumes, which helps teams process alerts efficiently and focus attention on what matters most.

With its AI/AIOps features, ITOM further reduces noise and inefficiency by correlating events, detecting anomalies, and predicting potential issues before they affect users. This helps shift operations from reactive firefighting to a more proactive approach.

From a pricing and ROI standpoint, the platform delivers value by reducing downtime, minimizing manual effort, and improving overall operational efficiency, which can translate into cost savings over time. In addition, structured support and onboarding make adoption smoother and help teams accelerate time to value.
The UI/UX is intuitive and well-structured, making it easy to navigate between events, service maps, and incidents, which improves efficiency and reduces the learning curve for operations teams.

  ### 2. ServiceNow ITOM: Transforming IT Operations with AI‑Driven Intelligence

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ganesh G. | Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ServiceNow ITOM acts like a central dashboard for IT support teams which gives a single view of alerts, system health, and infrastructure. It reduces noise by prioritizing critical issues, enables faster troubleshooting through dependency mapping, automates routine tasks, and helps teams detect and resolve problems proactively, improving uptime and overall support efficiency.

Its automation and AIOps capabilities are really great, which help reduce manual effort by automatically detecting anomalies, correlating events, and speeding up root-cause analysis. Another standout is how it shifts operations from reactive to proactive, allowing teams to identify and resolve issues faster before they impact users which helps in improving user satisfaction.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

While using ITOM, ensuring accurate CMDB data is a major challenge like poor data quality, duplicates, or missing relationships impact visibility and automation. Discovery gaps can leave parts of infrastructure unseen. Alert noise and duplicate events can overwhelm to the support teams.
From a UI/UX perspective, some dashboards and configurations can feel a bit heavy and less intuitive, especially for new users trying to navigate complex modules like Event Management or Service Mapping.
In terms of performance, handling large volumes of events and data can sometimes impact responsiveness if not optimized properly, especially in complex environments. From a pricing/ROI standpoint, ITOM can be on the higher side, and the value is realized only when modules like Discovery, Service Mapping, and AIOps are fully implemented and utilized.
For support and onboarding, the advanced features require experienced resources and proper guidance. Regarding AI capabilities, while they are powerful, they depend heavily on clean data and proper configuration, otherwise, outcomes may not be very effective.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow ITOM addresses the lack of visibility and the reactive nature of IT operations in complex infrastructures or complex setups where lots of different types of assets / CIs are involved. In many environments, teams struggle with siloed tools, limited insight into service dependencies, and slow incident resolution which directly impacts enduser satisfaction ratio.

With ITOM, we get end-to-end visibility into infrastructure and services, including how everything is connected which makes it easier to understand impact quickly and troubleshoot issues more effectively which in-turn helps improving user experience and satisfaction ratio. It also helps in reducing alert noise and manual effort through automation and AIOps by correlating events, identifying root cause faster, and cutting down on unnecessary tickets.

  ### 3. Ticket-to-Email Integration and Easy Customization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dinesh K. | Senior GRC Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

Helps refine the dashboard for individual team and the level of data customization is easier for every individual user with how the solution works. My best liking part is about the seamless integration of ticket to the user emails and how fast the responses are. I have personally worked on ServiceNow and handled tickets and I hope new AI platform enables easier ticket resolutions

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

Continuous email chains and unresponsive customers around ITOM. ServiceNow ITOM is often criticized for its astronomical licensing costs and the extreme complexity of implementation, which typically requires highly specialized (and expensive) expertise to deploy and maintain. Organizations also frequently struggle with heavy technical debt when biannual platform upgrades break custom discovery patterns, along with CMDB data bloat and noticeable system latency if the environment isn’t meticulously governed.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow ITOM helps turn chaotic, multi-cloud infrastructure into a more proactive digital operation for global media organisations such as News Corp and Dow Jones. By addressing infrastructure blindness and reducing alert fatigue with AIOps-driven root-cause analysis, the platform helps protect digital subscription and advertising revenue for high-profile brands like The Wall Street Journal by preventing critical downtime. It also brings multi-cloud sprawl under control across their large global cloud footprints, consolidating international IT workflows into a single, automated system of record.

  ### 4. Smooth Performance and Clear Operational History for Complex Investigations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa M. | Senior Program Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

The part I value most is having the operational history available when an issue needs a closer look, along with solid performance that keeps me moving when I’m working through a heavier batch of events. I also find the way this tool has its features organized genuinely satisfying, because it makes it easier to stay focused and investigate what matters. The AI improvements in this tool have made things smoother when I’m handling more complex tasks.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I have experienced that when someone new joins the team, there is a lot for them to understand before they can confidently work with the monitoring, event configuration, infrastructure views, and more, so they should make the onboarding process easier.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using this platform, the biggest practical problem for me was having to piece together the story of an incident from different places. With the relevant integrations, intelligence, and, of course, timely support, information from connected monitoring and infrastructure sources now appears directly within the operational workflow I’m already using. That means I can investigate the surrounding activity with a far more complete picture, instead of chasing fragments across separate tools.

  ### 5. ServiceNow IT Operations Management: A Strategic IT Leader’s Perspective on Visibility, Automation.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gul M. | Information Technology Project Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I like the comprehensive view provided by ServiceNow ITOM. Compared with other PaaS solutions, ITOM makes it possible to design and map the connections between infrastructure, applications, and business services, which helps me understand impact more clearly and prioritize initiatives.

ITOM’s ability to automate the discovery and monitoring of infrastructure, applications, and operational processes is especially appealing. In addition, the solution brings ServiceNow components together in one place, which supports an end-to-end operating model. It also covers IT service management (ITSM), configuration management, change control, and other related processes.

From my perspective, ServiceNow ITOM’s main advantage is that it supports executive decision-makers in becoming more data-driven, optimizing costs, and helping the organization achieve its business goals.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

The main challenge with ServiceNow ITOM is that you need to plan, govern, and manage the implementation and ongoing usage carefully in order to get the most value from it. This can become a real issue for companies with a distributed, diverse system landscape, because unifying all the different elements can take significant time and effort.

Another challenge is the learning curve. ServiceNow ITOM includes many components that must be configured and used correctly. You need to learn how to work with the configuration management database (CMDB), set up service mapping, run discovery, and design the processes for event management and the CMDB.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think ServiceNow ITOM is a platform that helps organizations maximize the value of their infrastructure and applications, not just manage them. It addresses a problem many CIOs face when trying to make IT a strategic asset, which seems to be the main purpose of an ITOM solution. ServiceNow also enables services to be operated and managed strategically and transparently, so CIOs can clearly see their vital services, key risks, and the areas that need automation.

In addition, ServiceNow can be used to address both unplanned and planned incidents. The tool helps analyze impact and plan changes and improvements to configurations, which ultimately drives operational efficiency and supports continuous improvement. By using ITOM operational analytics, executives can identify patterns and gain valuable insights.

  ### 6. ServiceNow ITOM Makes It Easy to Communicate Value Around Operational Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harpeet B. | Sales Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I find that ServiceNow ITOM allows me to position the product effectively around a prospect’s needs, rather than centering the conversation on features and technical specifications. For example, I can speak directly to operational inefficiencies such as the lack of integrated procedures for service monitoring, management, and automation, the need to reduce incident resolution time, the need to improve visibility, and the goal of increasing overall operational performance. The tool also helps me qualify the opportunity by taking into account the client’s current procedures, problems, expectations, and goals.

Overall, I consider it critical in the sales process to highlight the advantages of ServiceNow ITOM in the context of the client’s business processes. Its value, in my experience, is closely tied to being able to explain benefits in terms of operational efficiency and business continuity. Even though the learning curve can be quite steep, being able to communicate the value in simple terms improves the efficiency and quality of my dialogue with potential customers.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

From a salesperson’s perspective, these factors help me position the product effectively by highlighting how it can solve the client’s operational challenges: missing procedures for monitoring and management, a lack of automation, slow incident resolution, and limited ability to scale. They also help me anticipate and raise the most relevant objections, especially where there may be gaps between the client’s current processes and the ones being proposed.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find that ServiceNow ITOM helps me position the product effectively around a prospect’s needs, instead of centering the conversation on features and technical specifications. For example, I can focus on the client’s operational inefficiencies, such as the lack of integrated procedures for service monitoring, management, and automation, the need to reduce incident resolution time, and the need to improve visibility and raise overall operational performance. The tool also supports me in qualifying the opportunity by considering the client’s current procedures, existing problems, expectations, and goals.

Overall, I find it critical in the sales process to highlight the advantages of ServiceNow ITOM in the context of the client’s business processes. At the same time, its value is closely tied to being able to explain the benefits in terms of operational efficiency and business continuity. So, even though the learning curve can be fairly steep, being able to communicate the product’s value in simple terms improves the effectiveness of my dialogue with potential customers.

  ### 7. Integrations and Automation That Streamline Incident Response

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bart K. | Lead Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

One morning, several alerts came in almost together and initially looked like separate issues. The integrations gave me the surrounding information from connected systems. Also, we usually have a few routine operational tasks mixed in with active investigations, and automation takes care of some of those predictable actions for us.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I don’t have any major dislikes about ServiceNow IT Operations Management. In my experience, it performs well and is genuinely useful, without causing any significant issues in my day-to-day work.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Last week, an application showed signs of trouble, but the cause was somewhere underneath it. I didn’t have to check databases or network activity separately to understand what was connected as the Service Mapping view, along with the clean UI, already gave me a much clearer picture of those relationships, so I directly traced the affected service and narrow down where the disruption was coming from without getting lost between different screens.

  ### 8. Centralized Visibility and Proactive Dashboards for IT Operations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saloni P. | CRM Marketing Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I really like ServiceNow IT Operations Management because it makes it easy to understand what’s happening across our IT environment. It brings together all the information I need in one place, so I can view incidents, infrastructure details, service health, and operational tasks as connected parts of the same picture. The dashboards are especially helpful because they give our team visibility into potential issues before they grow. The automated workflows also help route tickets and tasks to the right people without requiring a lot of manual effort. ServiceNow IT Operations Management is also useful for spotting problems that keep happening and for understanding how those recurring issues affect our business services. Overall, for our IT operations team, having all of this information centralized in one place is a real advantage.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I don’t like that there’s so much to learn with ServiceNow IT Operations Management. It takes a while to set up and to customize the workflows the way we need. Also, some of the dashboards could be more user friendly, especially for people who only need to view information.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before we used ServiceNow IT Operations Management, our information was scattered across different places, and it was difficult to get a clear picture when something went wrong. ServiceNow IT Operations Management helped us bring everything into one place and set up workflows that make sense for how we work. Now our teams can respond to incidents faster and track ownership more clearly, so it’s easier to see who is in charge at each step. We can also spot issues earlier, before they turn into bigger problems.

Overall, ServiceNow IT Operations Management has been a strong fit for organizations with IT environments like ours. It gives us better visibility, automation, and process control, and once it’s set up properly, it becomes a reliable part of day to day IT operations.

  ### 9. Unified Operational Visibility with Reliable Discovery and Service Mapping

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arjun G. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

The biggest advantage of ServiceNow ITOM, in my opinion, is its unified approach to operational visibility and business context within the platform. The automated discovery tool keeps configuration information up to date, which reduces manual effort and provides more reliable data for analysis. Service mapping is also worth highlighting, since it clearly shows how different technical components support business services and makes impact analysis more accurate.

Another aspect I find impressive is the integration with other ServiceNow modules, as it helps establish a clear flow between incidents, changes, and operational data. As a Business Analyst, I value having access to trustworthy information because it enables faster requirements analysis, stronger documentation, and more fact based recommendations.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

Overall, the platform is very functional, but it isn’t something you can learn quickly. New users especially those without an IT infrastructure background may have difficulty understanding terms such as event correlation, service mapping, and CMDB relationships. On top of that, implementing and configuring the platform requires careful planning, and in many cases organizations will need experienced administrators to take full advantage of all the functions it provides.

Another point to consider with the ServiceNow ITOM platform is licensing. Many advanced ITOM features require additional license fees, which can be challenging for small businesses with limited budgets. Also, I found it fairly difficult to create customized dashboards and reports on my own, so there is often a need to ask for technical assistance.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In conclusion, the ServiceNow ITOM platform has positively impacted collaboration between business and technical teams by helping everyone share the same view of operational data. It has supported better decision making, reduced the risks associated with change initiatives, and increased service reliability and the overall efficiency of IT operations. Overall, it is a strong platform for digital transformation and process improvement, and it delivers significant business value.

As a Business Analyst, I have seen how ServiceNow ITOM has improved the way I analyze business requirements and drive operational improvements. In particular, the platform gives me a clearer understanding of dependencies across different services, making it easier to evaluate the potential impact of changes before implementation. In addition, it helps with identifying issues, performing root cause analysis, and creating an actionable plan to address them.

  ### 10. Makes IT Operations Easier to Monitor.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emman C. | Engineering Supervisor - Process Surveillance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I am a Strategy and Portfolio Advisor at ExxonMobil and go through a lot of data every day. The best thing about ServiceNow ITOM is that it shows me the health of the entire infrastructure in one place which is very convenient for me. I also like the event management system feature of this tool which have the ability to sort out most of the IT operations in an automated mode. When something goes wrong, it alerts me immediately and tells me where the problem is.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

One thing that really annoys me is its discovery and dependency management. Sometimes it shows the wrong information about which system is connected to which. I once trusted it and it went down three systems. I had to double check each and every single thing but sometimes it still goes wrong. It seems like it's not completely accurate in the execution stage.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem in our organization was that outages were detected very late. When a system goes down, customers would complain first and then we would find out. Now ITOM gives me real time alerts and I can decide at a strategic level which issues to fix first. My value to the company has increased because I respond with data. My decisions are now stronger and better with its intelligence features.

  ### 11. ServiceNow to track tickets and pending Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

The most impressive thing is never get hanged or struck, easily understand by even a non technical person, easy to handle by non technical person aswell.

No need of special training at all to understand the tool.

The highlighting of ticket number and a critical Information from set of information is a good thing.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

Yes, since whole world moving towards artificial intelligence i would recommend Servicenow to adopt Ai for below points:

1. Using Ai to allow us create Dashboard as however we want.
2. Using Ai to remind us of about older tickets which we haven't interacted for a while.
3. Using Ai to Automate some sort of work like if we add comment in ticket it should show when to send comments on tickets.
4. Using Ai to clear the tickets of long queue of confirmed responses from clients.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow IT operations management helps organizations address various IT challenges such as incident management, problem resolution, performance monitoring, and change management. This benefits users by improving operational efficiency, reducing downtime and enhancing the overall IT service experience.

  ### 12. Excellent Service Discovery for Tracking and Managing Configuration Items

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J Varun S. | Senior Infra Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ITOM is best for a case where we need to track configuration items like laptops, servers, networking devices, softwares any items for that matter. The best one so far is service discovery which helps us discover all of the virtual machines we have on the cloud setup into the servicenow instance which helps keep track of them and their performance.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ITOM gets confusing at times because of the vastness and the configuration items need to be properly mapped based on the dependency maps, relationship ci editors.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like i mentioned before ITOM helps in tracking and maintaining the servers on our cloud setup like AWS or azure, as you know we cannot provide everyone access to the cloud setup so the support people get servicenow access where they can monitor these discovered servers, raise incidents if any of them are down. This is the best benefit so far for me.

  ### 13. Fewer Alerts, More Focus, Reliable Performance and Solid Integrations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamar R. | Head of Operations, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I like being able to enjoy my morning coffee in peace, without having to sort through a pile of alerts just to figure out what needs my attention first. Throughout the day, I no longer have to chase false alarms, and instead I can focus on meaningful issues, backed by consistent performance and quality integrations.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

Well, the mornings are good, but not every part of the day runs perfectly. There are still some moments where I have to pause and investigate exceptions and verify unusual alerts. This doesn’t happen every time but still are part of the routine.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before adopting this approach, our typical day was full of problems: we were manually testing every incident and constantly trying to pinpoint the root cause of issues. Since implementing the ITOM platform, many of those problems have been significantly reduced, which has made our day-to-day work more predictable and far less stressful.

  ### 14. Combining Processes for Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karl W. | Manager Service Level and Catalogue

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

What I like most about ServiceNow IT Operations Management is how it brings together Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and the CMDB into a single, integrated platform. It provides real-time visibility into infrastructure and service dependencies, which makes troubleshooting, impact analysis, and change planning much more effective. The automation capabilities reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and ensure the CMDB remains accurate, allowing IT teams to make faster, more informed decisions with confidence.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

While ServiceNow IT Operations Management provides significant value, it can be complex to implement and maintain effectively. Achieving the full benefits of capabilities such as Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management requires strong governance, ongoing data quality management, and skilled platform resources. Licensing can also be difficult to navigate as organisations scale, with different capabilities and user models adding complexity. Additionally, tuning and managing large environments can require ongoing effort to ensure performance, accuracy, and meaningful operational insights.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management is helping us address the challenges of managing a large and complex technology environment by providing greater visibility, automation, and control across our infrastructure and services. It is improving our ability to discover and maintain accurate CMDB data, understand service dependencies, monitor operational health, and quickly identify the impact of incidents and changes.

The benefits include faster troubleshooting, improved decision-making, reduced manual effort, and greater confidence in our configuration and service data. By connecting infrastructure, applications, and business services, IT Operations Management enables us to move from reactive support to a more proactive approach to managing technology services and delivering better outcomes for our customers.

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ServiceNow ITOM delivers a masterful roadmap for enterprise maturity, transforming complex infrastructure into a clear, actionable strategy. From my perspective as a Lead Strategic Advisor for an Elite ServiceNow Partner, the journey from Discovery to Service Mapping establishes a foundational CSDM blueprint, effectively breaking down silos between the back, middle, and front offices.

The Service Operations Workspace provides a consolidated 360-degree view where the transition across Dependency Views and Service Maps is seamless. This allows for rapid contextual switching during critical incidents, moving from a high-level topology view down to the granular details of a specific Configuration Item (CI). By providing these out-of-the-box user journeys, ServiceNow offers a true representation of the core 'Enterprise of IT Operations Management.'

The cost-efficiency of the platform is driven by its high reusability across the enterprise. By investing in a single, robust foundation, organizations realize a rapid ROI, as the platform removes the 'guesswork' from operations and minimizes business disruption. This creates a scalable economic model where the initial architectural investment yields compounding value over time.

Furthermore, the transition from Visibility to AIOps is a game-changer. By leveraging Event Management to filter out over 90% of alert noise and utilizing Playbooks for standardized investigations, we have significantly accelerated engineering productivity. Integrating Flow Designer with automation tools like Ansible has evolved our operations from manual troubleshooting to a self-healing 'System of Action.' ### 42. Data-Driven Decisions with ServiceNow Despite Reporting Hiccups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nalleli V. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I really like the value of data displayed in ServiceNow IT Operations Management and the convenience of having multiple fields within a single solution. I find it helpful that I can create dashboards to display real-time totals for different ticket sources, which I use to make risk assessments and decisions.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

The reporting part. The data is stored in multiple tables, and it's complicated to get fields from different sources. Even when the dashboards display them, it's just totals that you can't relate like a database. If you were able to type and get results as you do it, it would be so much helpful. Reporting different tables with their related field on a single report would be an improvement.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow IT Operations Management for incident management and logging, identifying trends and correlations, and generating reports. It allows real-time dashboard creation and decision-making, integrating various fields into a single solution which is very helpful.

  ### 43. Powerful event visibility and service-aware operations at scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roy B.

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management brings event visibility, service mapping, and operational workflows together in a single platform. The biggest value for me is its ability to correlate events and connect them to business services, which cuts down on noise and helps teams focus on what truly impacts the business.

I also like how it integrates with ITSM to automate incident creation and resolution workflows. This improves response times and reduces manual effort. The service mapping capability adds important context by showing dependencies across infrastructure and applications, which is critical when doing root cause analysis.

From an architectural perspective, it offers a scalable, governed approach to monitoring and operations, particularly when integrating tools like SolarWinds or other event sources into a centralized model.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ITOM can be complex to implement, and it often requires a high level of organizational maturity to fully realize its value. Capabilities like event correlation, service mapping, and discovery depend on proper configuration, careful tuning, and ongoing governance to stay effective.

There can also be challenges around data quality and keeping service maps accurate, especially in dynamic environments where things change frequently. Licensing and infrastructure requirements, including MID Server management, may add additional overhead. Without a clear strategy, organizations can struggle to progress beyond basic event ingestion and take advantage of more advanced capabilities.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow ITOM addresses the challenge of siloed monitoring tools and excessive alert noise by centralizing events and correlating them into meaningful insights that are tied to business services. This helps reduce incident volume, strengthens root-cause identification, and speeds up response times. The result is more proactive operations, clearer visibility into overall service health, and stronger alignment between IT performance and business impact.

  ### 44. Comprehensive IT Visibility with Powerful Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I like how ServiceNow IT Operations Management brings infrastructure visibility, monitoring, and automation together on one platform. The Automated Discovery and Service Mapping keep the CMDB accurate with minimal manual effort, while Event Management expertly correlates alerts to reduce noise and speed up root cause analysis. I appreciate its seamless integration with other ServiceNow modules, powerful automation capabilities, and support for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, making it highly effective for enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining reliable IT services. The integration with monitoring platforms like Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and SolarWinds, along with cloud and virtualization platforms, further extends its utility. Overall, it significantly improves operational visibility, reduces manual effort, and accelerates incident resolution.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I find the initial implementation and ongoing configuration of ServiceNow IT Operations Management to be complex. Features like Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management require careful planning and experienced administrators to get the best results. Customizing dashboards, reports, and workflows can also involve more scripting and configuration than expected. Additionally, I find the licensing costs to be high, especially when adopting multiple ITOM capabilities, and performance tuning may be needed in very large or highly customized environments. I would appreciate a more guided deployment experience with additional preconfigured templates and best-practice recommendations to help realize value faster. More intuitive dashboard and report customization and a more flexible licensing model would make it easier to adopt and manage the platform.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management provides infrastructure monitoring and automation, streamlining our processes. It maintains an accurate CMDB, reduces alert fatigue, and accelerates incident response. It also improves visibility, minimizes downtime, and enhances service reliability across our hybrid IT environment.

  ### 45. Operations management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priscila B.

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ServiceNow Operations Management is a powerful platform designed to help organizations gain visibility into their IT infrastructure and proactively manage operations. One of its biggest strengths is its ability to provide real-time insights through event management and discovery tools, allowing teams to quickly identify and resolve issues before they impact end users. The integration with the broader ServiceNow ecosystem is seamless, which makes it especially valuable for companies already using ServiceNow for IT Service Management

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

That said, ServiceNow Operations Management does come with a few challenges. Implementation can be complex and often requires skilled resources to configure it properly. For smaller organizations, the cost and setup effort may feel heavy compared to simpler monitoring tools. Additionally, there can be a learning curve for new users, especially when navigating its more advanced features.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, ServiceNow Operations Management is a strong choice for mid-sized to large enterprises looking for a comprehensive, scalable solution to manage IT operations. When implemented effectively, it can significantly improve operational visibility, reduce downtime, and support a more proactive IT strategy.

  ### 46. Reliable Discovery and Impact Analysis Champion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanvi P. | Senior Servicenow Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

My favorite thing about ServiceNow IT Operations Management is the discovery feature. It's hassle-free to implement with less required prerequisites, and all you need is a mid server in the environment or cloud. This allows us to pull information and store it on the CMDB, helping to maintain a comprehensive view of the customer infrastructure and providing visibility into all the information related to customer endpoint devices. The discovery tool is unmatched, fast, reliable, secure, and requires fewer implementation steps. It's very valuable for developers, users, and customers to keep track of all the related information about the CI.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I think the workspace could be improved. It would be better if all features, like discovery and service mapping, were consolidated into a single workspace or dashboard. Having a unified view for things like relationship impact and services would be more efficient.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management helps me with maintaining inventory, discovering devices, and conducting impact analysis of servers and services. It provides a clear picture of service impacts when discovery and service mapping are aligned.

  ### 47. Unified View and Automated Efficiency, But Complex Setup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I really like ServiceNow IT Operations Management for its ability to provide a unified view of our entire IT environment while automating many operational tasks. The Discovery and Service Mapping capabilities help maintain an accurate CMDB with minimal manual effort. Event Management significantly reduces alert noise by correlating related events into actionable incidents. The platform integrates well with other ServiceNow modules, making incident, change, and problem management more efficient. Additionally, I appreciate its scalability, workflow automation, and customizable dashboards which make monitoring infrastructure health and improving operational efficiency much easier. Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management deliver a lot of value. Discovery automatically identifies servers, network devices, cloud resources, and applications, keeping our CMDB accurate and reducing configuration errors. Service Mapping helps us understand the dependencies of business services on the underlying infrastructure, making impact analysis and change planning more reliable. Event Management consolidates alerts, correlates related events, and filters out noise, allowing our operations team to focus on critical issues. These features provide better visibility, improve efficiency, and support proactive infrastructure management. Using ServiceNow IT Operations Management alongside several other enterprise tools, it integrates with monitoring platforms and cloud platforms, enabling seamless workflows across IT operations and streamlining processes. The move to ServiceNow significantly improved infrastructure visibility, automated asset discovery, and enhanced CMDB accuracy, facilitating faster issue resolution and efficient operational processes. It provides excellent visibility into complex IT environments, automates infrastructure discovery, maintains an accurate CMDB, and reduces incident resolution times through effective event correlation and service mapping.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

The biggest areas for improvement with ServiceNow IT Operations Management are the complexity of implementation and the ongoing maintenance required to get the most value from the platform. Configuring Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management correctly can be time-consuming and often requires experienced ServiceNow administrators. Another challenge is keeping the CMDB accurate as infrastructure changes frequently. If Discovery schedules or patterns are not maintained, data quality can quickly decline. We also feel the reporting and dashboard customization could be more intuitive, as creating advanced reports often requires additional expertise. Lastly, licensing costs for advanced ITOM capabilities can become expensive as organizations scale, and some upgrades require additional testing to ensure existing customizations continue to work as expected. While none of these issues are major deal-breakers, addressing them would make the platform easier to adopt and manage.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow IT Operations Management to gain end-to-end visibility, automate infrastructure discovery, maintain an accurate CMDB, and improve service availability. It reduces manual work, speeds up incident resolution, and supports better change management by quickly identifying root causes of issues.

  ### 48. Effortless CI Management with Service Impact Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aryan S. | ServiceNow Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I really appreciate how easy ServiceNow IT Operations Management has made it for me to have visibility of the CI components within our infrastructure environment. The CMDB is particularly handy for this. The initial setup was quite easy even for me as a new learner, and it didn't require any major prerequisites, which helped everything go smoothly with just a few plugins needed. The ease of getting visibility and maintaining records of my CIs and infrastructure, as well as the ability to track service impacts through service mapping, makes it very useful for us.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

Creating a field on the CMDB takes a lot of time because it creates on all the child records. I find this process a bit tedious.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management helps me maintain and track CI records in our infrastructure. With service mapping, I easily identify service impacts and interruptions, which is crucial. The visibility it offers for CI components in the CMDB is very useful for managing infrastructure.

  ### 49. Easy Cross-Team Requests, But the Dashboard UI and Linking Features Need Work

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** uzma a. | Application Development Senior Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

It’s easy to raise requests across multiple teams, applications, and business units.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

Honestly, I don’t like the dashboard view or the UI in the enhancement request section. It only lets me add comments, and there’s no option to link related requests or add web links the way you can in JIRA.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Majorly helpful when onboarding new employees, they could raise access requests for most applications from one platform

  ### 50. Powerful ITOM Solution with Complex Setup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sakchi s. | Account Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

I use ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) to gain visibility across infrastructure, manage service health proactively, and automate operational workflows. I love that it shifts IT from a 'fix-it-when-it-breaks' mentality to a predictive, automated model. One feature I find most valuable is Intelligent Automation (IA) coupled with Agentic AI, which goes beyond simple RPA to handle complex, multi-step processes autonomously. It acts as a powerful multiplier in IT operations, moving me from simple monitoring to true operational excellence. Additionally, its integration capabilities with numerous third-party tools provide unified visibility and automated workflows, which is a big advantage.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management can become overwhelming due to its complexity and cost. The initial setup is rarely described as 'plug-and-play' and is generally considered a complex, phased journey. This complexity often arises from the need for thorough cleanup of legacy data before it can be integrated, which involves overcoming significant technical and operational hurdles stemming from outdated system architectures, poor data quality, and the necessity of maintaining business continuity during the transition.

**What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow IT Operations Management bridges IT infrastructure and business services, transforming IT from reactive to proactive. It provides visibility, manages service health, and automates workflows, enabling predictive operations.
