"Archaic, manual, and unintuitive. An absolute no."

What do you like best about Sequoia Advisory?

The people we worked with during the sales and onboarding processes were amazing. Some of the best we've worked with. The employee experience was nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequoia Advisory?

The people were lovely, but unfortuntately that doesn't make up for the archaic and clunky software. Most of our daily and monthly processes were entirely manual, and we ended up needing to cancel our contract with them 6 months in. We moved to a competitor and couldn't be happier with them.

Some extra details:

What they don't show you in the sale process is the back end system, Prism HR, which is where an admin will actually be spending most of their time. It's incredibly archaic and unintuitive.

They don't prioritize integrations with other tools in the space. For instance, we didn't want to use their partner 401k provider (also archaic), but they have absolutely no way to integrate with any other providers (which is uncommon in this space) so we had to do a manual export every month, which was tedious because their back end reporting tool was so unintuitive.

Giving employees raises was overly complex, and their team actually recommended that we fill out a templated spreadsheet and have them file all the salary changes instead of us making the changes ourselves because their own UI was so difficult.

There's nothing that can be done self-serve. Everything needs to be handled by a member of their team, again because their platform is so unintuitive.

The onboarding process was cumbersome and overly complex.

We've been with a competitor for over 6 months now, and I'm blown away at how easy some of these processes can be in a tool that actually prioritizes the user experience.

Overall, we made a huge mistake moving forward with Sequoia. I'm not one to write negative reviews, but I wish I had done more research and seen more reviews like this ahead of our decision. Unfortunately I would not recommend Sequoia to anyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

No negative feedback, but since benefit enrollment is hectic, and they have a lot of great resource tools, the ramp-up to get acclimated with tools and systems can take some time to utilize best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sequoia Advisory solving and how is that benefiting you?

This is the 2nd time I needed help correcting my W2 and unfortunately again they are unable to help. They will give generic answers which don't even answer my question.

Probably it is a great platform to do your generic HR tasks but once you have an issue - all their staff will act weird with ZERO intention of helping you out.

What do you like best about Sequoia Advisory?

What do you dislike about Sequoia Advisory?

Most of it.

- Their insurance plans offerings are very limited

- They have a lot of extra 'perks' that are really just a bunch of companies trying to make money off of Sequoia users (to be fair, this is the case for many benefits providers)

- Their software is often buggy/unintuitive

Understanding all of my insurance information is very easy and I'm able to quickly view my insurance card. In the past with other benefits providers, I have had to search through multiple different apps to access all of the necessary information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have found it difficult to figure out how to request PTO on the mobile app. It can be very confusing to find it. Conversely, on the desktop app it is much more streamlined. I find the UX/UI on the desktop version to be much more intuitive overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sequoia has been a comprehensive platform for the management of benefits appropriate to the company and our needs. It uses integrated technologies to provide powerful management tools, and provides us with an outsourced service model with which we can offer a unified human resources experience to all staff. We obtain a broad and professional visibility of our business management programs, using data-based intelligence, managing to empower and improve the skills of all decision makers, leading them to recognize new opportunities and take measures that optimize workflow. What do you dislike about Sequoia Advisory?

The daily work of the whole team is carried out mainly within the company, through a desktop PC or laptop, therefore, the application with support for mobile devices contains many additional benefits that the desktop application does not yet offer. , so when we need any of these we must use mobile devices. Through the use and implementation of this platform we can obtain an effective management of the human resources office, developing a more organized management of tasks outlined by the recommendations that sequoia provides us. We evaluated the administration programs, as well as the health benefits campaigns, improving the management of the entire benefits system that we have, that is, life insurance, health and all family welfare programs and more. For its part, to have complete certainty that everything is being carried out in accordance with the strategies we obtain with Sequoia, we monitor the costs of the program or campaigns, thus viewing detailed information related to employee use through extensive analysis.
