What do you like best about Sequoia Advisory?

The people we worked with during the sales and onboarding processes were amazing. Some of the best we've worked with. The employee experience was nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequoia Advisory?

The people were lovely, but unfortuntately that doesn't make up for the archaic and clunky software. Most of our daily and monthly processes were entirely manual, and we ended up needing to cancel our contract with them 6 months in. We moved to a competitor and couldn't be happier with them.

Some extra details:

What they don't show you in the sale process is the back end system, Prism HR, which is where an admin will actually be spending most of their time. It's incredibly archaic and unintuitive.

They don't prioritize integrations with other tools in the space. For instance, we didn't want to use their partner 401k provider (also archaic), but they have absolutely no way to integrate with any other providers (which is uncommon in this space) so we had to do a manual export every month, which was tedious because their back end reporting tool was so unintuitive.

Giving employees raises was overly complex, and their team actually recommended that we fill out a templated spreadsheet and have them file all the salary changes instead of us making the changes ourselves because their own UI was so difficult.

There's nothing that can be done self-serve. Everything needs to be handled by a member of their team, again because their platform is so unintuitive.

The onboarding process was cumbersome and overly complex.

We've been with a competitor for over 6 months now, and I'm blown away at how easy some of these processes can be in a tool that actually prioritizes the user experience.

Overall, we made a huge mistake moving forward with Sequoia. I'm not one to write negative reviews, but I wish I had done more research and seen more reviews like this ahead of our decision. Unfortunately I would not recommend Sequoia to anyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

No negative feedback, but since benefit enrollment is hectic, and they have a lot of great resource tools, the ramp-up to get acclimated with tools and systems can take some time to utilize best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequoia Advisory?

Most of it.

- Their insurance plans offerings are very limited

- They have a lot of extra 'perks' that are really just a bunch of companies trying to make money off of Sequoia users (to be fair, this is the case for many benefits providers)

- Their software is often buggy/unintuitive

- They have no direct phone number for employees to contact support, everything has to be done over email, at least at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
