What is SailPoint, and what problem is it built to solve?

SailPoint provides identity governance solutions that help organizations manage who has access to which systems and data. It is built to address complex security and compliance requirements and help keep IT environments under control.

What languages does SailPoint support?

SailPoint supports 21 languages, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, English, and others.

What company sizes and industries is SailPoint the best fit for?

SailPoint’s strongest fit appears to be larger organizations, with positive users also represented across several industries. The clearest company-size concentration is among enterprise organizations.

How long does it take to implement SailPoint across a team?

Go-live most commonly takes 3–6 months, though implementation timelines vary. Teams also report both shorter and longer rollouts.

What customer support options does SailPoint provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

SailPoint provides 24/7 live-rep support, along with email/help desk, phone support, FAQs/forum, and a knowledge base. The support experience is mixed: users value knowledgeable staff and responsive customer success contacts, while others describe slow resolutions, difficult escalations, and reliance on paid professional services.

What is the experience like for teams switching to SailPoint from another tool?

Teams have moved to SailPoint from older or less capable identity and access tools, including Oracle, One Identity, and OpenText NetIQ products. The move has been driven by gaps in governance, access reviews, scalability, or modernization needs; SailPoint has provided stronger lifecycle automation, access certification, and visibility, though complex environments can still require a carefully managed transition.

What tools and platforms does SailPoint integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

SailPoint offers 52 integrations, spanning identity directories and cloud platforms, HR/HCM, service management, and healthcare systems.

What features or capabilities could make SailPoint even more useful?

SailPoint could be more approachable for administrators and end users, particularly when configuring complex environments. Users also point to several areas where improvements would make daily work smoother:
  • Make navigation, administration, and configuration more intuitive, with less reliance on specialized technical expertise.
  • Expand reporting flexibility and simplify the creation of custom reports and dashboards.
  • Add more options and filters to access certification campaigns and make review workflows easier to tailor.
  • Improve connector setup and troubleshooting with clearer logs, error messages, and documentation.

Is SailPoint considered safe and secure for handling data?

SailPoint is used to govern access through centralized visibility, lifecycle controls, access reviews, and policy enforcement. Users value these capabilities for helping identify excessive access and supporting compliance work, while also noting that security outcomes depend on effective configuration and ongoing governance.

"Flexible Identity Lifecycle Management, Simplified"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I like SailPoint’s flexibility and how it brings identity governance, access management, and provisioning together. It gives me a centralized way to understand who has access to what, why they have it, how it was approved, and whether they should continue to have that access. I value Identity Lifecycle Management because it brings identity data, access, provisioning, and de-provisioning together and lets us automate access based on a user’s lifecycle. It helps ensure users get the right access when they need it and that access is removed when it is no longer required. The initial setup was easy enough for me as an experienced SailPoint engineer. "SailPoint’s People Shine—Diligent, Knowledgeable, and Product-Savvy"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I’d say the people are SailPoint’s greatest value. They’re diligent, and they really know their product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

I’d love to see more flexibility when it comes to customizing the ISC, and I’d also like to see more effort put into migration topics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Integration and Flexibility with SailPoint"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I think SailPoint provides excellent depth of integration, making it the best for integration and flexibility in identity and access management. The initial setup was also easy, which was a big plus for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

I think SailPoint could improve by offering more plug-and-play options for IIQ environments that aren't prepared for the cloud. It would be helpful to have something like AI discovery and scanning features available as a discover and audit kind of scan for all IIQ environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SailPoint Makes Identity Governance Practical and Manageable"
4/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I like how SailPoint makes identity governance feel practical and manageable, especially with its automated provisioning, access reviews, and lifecycle management features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

I find some of SailPoint’s configuration and customization processes more complex than they need to be. In particular, troubleshooting workflows and managing integrations often require a deeper level of technical understanding, and they can involve more manual effort than I would expect. "Streamlined Workflows, but Access Certifications Need More Depth"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I like that ISC is less hands-on than IQ while still providing almost everything IQ provided. I also like the predefined workflow steps, which I can drag and drop instead of configuring every step from scratch. I can use external triggers like PowerShell scripts with workflows for specific purposes, keeping things lightweight in ISC while the scripts do the heavy lifting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

I find user access certification very vanilla, and I’d prefer something more robust like we had in IQ. I’d also find it helpful to be able to leverage these kinds of things within the workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Single Source of Identity Truth That Keeps Us Out of Chaos"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

SailPoint has allowed us to have a single point of reference for the various Identities that are part of higher educations. Without it we would be living in chaos. We are looking forward to beginning to use the onboarding of applications and increased recertification functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

We have multiple sources of truth for our Identities and have not been able to find a good way to link our various sources to generate a single identity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transparency and Automated Onboarding That Makes Work Easier"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I like how it creates transparency and consolidates employee profiles, while also enabling automation for onboarding and offboarding. Overall, it makes our lives easier by streamlining processes, enabling automation, and reducing manual work. The support team is great as well—they usually respond quickly and provide solutions in a short time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

Nothing major at the moment, but the reporting tools within ISC aren’t very user-friendly, which makes it difficult to pull statistical data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
