**What do you like best about Roofing Business Partner?**

RBP has been willing to work closely with us on a pretty challenging tech build that took a lot of time and stuck with us to the end despite several iterations. 
Direct access to the guys doing the work with lots of collaboration and receptivity to feedback. 
Finally using LOOM videos to communicate really sped up the process and made the messages more personal.

**What do you dislike about Roofing Business Partner?**

Any time you hire someone outside of your own organization to assist you with your work, an intrinsic challenges come with that situation. I feel RBP did a well as possible given this circumstance. 
One way this played out was that often our developers were implementing our suggestions just previous to the next scheduled meeting. If the next steps discussed at each meeting is implemented soon as possible, and clients are updated, so that there is time to test it prior to the next meeting, the feedback process could be significantly shortened.

**Recommendations to others considering Roofing Business Partner:**

First, make sure to do your part and give feedback to the developers as soon as they have questions. This makes them much more productive, vs. constantly having to either guess, or else wait on you.

Much time can be lost if you forget what you want between weekly meetings. Have a plan for meetings with your tech partner/developer and keep a record of problems, questions, and action steps, etc., completed each meeting. This tracking speeds up the meeting and allows you to understand your progress and the goals to be accomplished yet.

Ben from Equity Roofing: A Review of RBP
Hi, I'm Ben from Equity Roofing, and I wanted to talk about how RBP has improved my position here1. I work as a Project Coordinator, which means I'm responsible for all communication with the customer after a sale, and arranging things like permits, deliveries, warranties, and shop inventories.

The Challenge
When I took on the Project Coordinator role, we quickly discovered that our CRM was not well set up to support the position. We also didn't entirely understand the scope of the position itself. A year ago, when I began this position, I felt like I was often "fighting an uphill battle a lot of the time" just trying to accomplish my tasks.

The RBP Solution
RBP worked with us to help us understand what we wanted and what our processes should be. They then adjusted our CRM to reflect these new processes to make us most efficient.
Now, a lot of my tasks take less than 50% of the time they did previously.

Focus on Permitting
One particular task that used to take a lot of time was permitting. This is complex because Pennsylvania has approximately 50 or more different municipalities per county, and we serve quite a number of counties. It was difficult to figure out the special requirements for getting, paying for, and inspecting a permit for each municipality. I was actually almost slowing myself down by gathering more information, which is the opposite of how it should work.

RBP worked with us to create a separate object to manage permits dynamically from a board. This allows us to gather and record information specific to municipalities in HubSpot as properties. Now, when we create a new permit for an already onboarded municipality, those properties are automatically there.

This change has made me more than twice as fast. It also means a new employee would need a lot less initiation than I had into both the roofing and the permit process. While it's still a huge task to onboard all the municipalities, the dynamic management of info is very helpful.

Conclusion
It's been a big undertaking, taking a number of months and a lot of meetings, but we now have a product that I'm sure will only continue to improve. I'm grateful to RBP for making the Project Coordinator job "less of an uphill battle every day" and for helping us suggest ideas and bring our ideas to fruition.
