# Which is the best investigation management software for compliance and internal investigations to support growing teams with complex?

A five-person compliance team can run internal investigations off spreadsheets. A fifty-person team with overlapping HR, security, and legal cases cannot, which is the point at which the question of which investigation management software actually holds up starts to matter. We looked at the Investigation Management category with growing, complex teams specifically in mind.

These names come up most in this comparison:

Case IQ: Reviewers cite configurable intake forms and case workflows that scale across compliance, HR, and security investigations without needing separate systems per case type.

Resolver: Reviewers in GRC-heavy organizations point to linking investigations directly to broader risk and compliance data, useful once a team has more than one framework to manage.

HR Acuity: Strong specifically for employee relations and HR investigations, with reviewers citing documentation consistency as cases scale across multiple investigators.

Omnigo: Reviewers in security and public safety settings cite incident tracking tied to investigation workflows, a narrower fit than the others here.

PMG Platform: Reviewers describe configurable workflow automation applied to investigations, appealing to teams that want to build their own case process rather than adopt a fixed template.

For teams that outgrew a spreadsheet-based process, what was the actual trigger- case volume, audit requirements, or a specific incident that made leadership fund a real system?

Oh Resolver is the standout here for compliance and internal investigations specifically, well-rated and built for case management, evidence tracking and reporting on internal incidents (HR, ethics, fraud), which is exactly the "growing team with complex needs" scenario since it scales from simple case intake to structured workflows as your caseload grows. If your investigations lean more toward eDiscovery and legal-hold work rather than internal HR/compliance cases, Relativity and Logikcull are the heavily reviewed names in that adjacent space, though that's a different kind of investigation (litigation-driven) than internal compliance. To be real, "complex needs" usually means custom workflows, role-based access and audit trails, so I'd specifically test Resolver's workflow configuration against one of your messier real cases before committing. Are these investigations mostly internal HR/ethics cases, or do they involve legal discovery and outside counsel?
