RideCo is an on-demand transit technology and services company that enables on-demand ridesharing for transit agencies in cities around the globe. We partner with transit agencies and experienced fleet operators to design, simulate, launch and operate on-demand transit services and have launched services with some of the largest agencies in North America. Our solutions reduce travel time, decrease walking distance, and increase service frequency for riders. This lowers transit agencies’ cost-per-ride, reduces demand for parking, and attracts net new riders to transit systems. Our industry-leading productivity directly results in millions of dollars per year in savings for transit agencies and substantial reductions in vehicle revenue hours and associated vehicle emissions. **What do you like best about RideCo?**

What I appreciate most about RideCo is how intuitive and data-driven the platform is. The reporting dashboard is especially valuable — providing key performance indicators such as ridership, on-time performance, percentage of rides shared, peak demand hours, top destinations, and customer ratings. Having all of this information readily available has greatly streamlined our NTD reporting process and improved how we evaluate our service.

Beyond reporting, RideCo has truly modernized our operations. The transition from a manual, outdated system to a real-time, cloud-based platform has significantly improved efficiency, reliability, and the overall passenger experience. RideCo’s team has also been highly supportive and responsive, making them a genuine partner in advancing our microtransit and paratransit services.

**What do you dislike about RideCo?**

The only concern that has surfaced comes from some of our drivers, who have mentioned that they would like to see more of their upcoming itinerary — for example, the next few scheduled pickups or drop-offs. Because RideCo’s system operates in real-time and adjusts dynamically to cancellations and new ride requests, the itinerary can change frequently. While this design ensures optimal efficiency and responsiveness for passengers, it does take some adjustment for drivers who are used to more static schedules.

That said, we understand that this real-time adaptability is a core strength of RideCo’s system and an intentional feature that supports better service delivery overall.

**What problems is RideCo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before implementing RideCo, our previous software relied heavily on manual processes and lacked the flexibility and intelligence we needed to operate efficiently. The system also allowed for manual manipulation, which created inconsistencies and inefficiencies in our service delivery. When I stepped into the Director role, one of my top priorities was to modernize our operational infrastructure with a cloud-based, automated solution that could better meet the needs of both our staff and passengers.

RideCo has completely transformed the way we manage our microtransit and paratransit operations. The platform automates many of the tasks that previously required manual intervention, allowing us to optimize routing, improve scheduling accuracy, and respond in real time to changing passenger demands. This has led to greater operational efficiency, improved on-time performance, and a noticeably smoother passenger experience.

The benefits have extended beyond day-to-day operations — RideCo’s data and reporting tools have also enhanced our ability to make data-informed decisions, report accurately to the NTD, and demonstrate the value of our service when applying for grants. Overall, RideCo has been a key partner in helping us deliver a more reliable, modern, and rider-focused transit system for our community.

**What do you like best about RideCo?**

What stood out to us most when evaluating RideCo was the scheduling flexibility and scalability. Our schedulers can now focus on other tasks like intake and dispatching. RideCo also had one of the best solutions to our reporting issues around multiple funding sources. They have made reporting more user friendly for us. Their ability to integrate with third-party software has been huge for us as well, especially since they manage everything, push updates, and keep the tech running smoothly. And the customer support is excellent. We meet with them weekly, and they’re always quick to answer our questions or make changes based on our feedback.

**What do you dislike about RideCo?**

RideCo has easily been the best fit for our vision. From the start, they’ve worked closely with us to implement KPIs and adapt to our operations. I’ve had no complaints. Whenever we bring up issues or ideas, they’re on it. Even features like editing trips, something we couldn’t do before without canceling and rescheduling, RideCo built that out for us. It’s clear they’re invested in helping us succeed and scale our pilot program across New Jersey.

**What do you like best about RideCo?**

RideCo enables public transportation to adapt to changing customer expectations, much like services such as DoorDash, Netflix, Uber, and Lyft. With WeRIDE, we are able to provide a higher-quality microtransit service to our residents on multiple levels, enhancing convenience and accessibility. The easy-to-use rider app has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our residents, particularly students, seniors and those with limited mobility. Additionally, the RideCo analytics dashboard has been invaluable to the city for making data-driven decisions to continuously improve our service efficiency and responsiveness to community needs in a quick manner.

**What do you dislike about RideCo?**

As with any sophisticated transit technology, there was an initial learning curve for our team to fully utilize all of RideCo's features and capabilities. This wasn't a negative reflection on the platform itself, but rather the natural adjustment period that comes with implementing any comprehensive transit solution with so much data.

**What problems is RideCo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RideCo helps us meet the evolving needs of our community by offering a flexible microtransit solution. Compared to our previous fixed-route circulator, this approach allows us to deliver a more responsive and efficient transit service that better aligns with how people move today.

Their team is responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in their clients’ success—always going above and beyond to provide support and solutions tailored to each agency’s needs. For example, the RideCo team was heavily involved in building an integrated and multi-channel marketing campaign that helped drive rapid ridership growth. With a strong partnership approach and a focus on continuous innovation, RideCo stands out as a trusted leader in the transit technology space.

There is nothing to dislike about RideCo.

**What problems is RideCo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our partnership with RideCo began in October 2022 when the City launch Simple Mobile Access to Reliable Transit (Milpitas SMART) to provide residents with a convenient transportation option that improved connectivity to the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Station and Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA)’s existing bus and rails services. Combining high-quality service with a successful, integrated marketing campaign, the RideCo team has critically helped the City staff and the program to surpass its KPI goals. This service has grown into a transportation option that is essential and loved by the community since its inception.

**What do you like best about RideCo?**

One of the great advantages we've experienced since moving to RideCo is the automated IVR solution. Previously, we had to rely on a third party to provide that service. With RideCo, customers can now receive notifications when their trip is dispatched and when it has arrived, beginning their five-minute notice that the trip is waiting for them. This significantly benefits riders by relieving the anxiety of wondering, "Where's my ride?" Additionally, RideCo’s platform enhances efficiency; 60% of our trips are shared rides, and the system effectively consolidates trips to maximize shared opportunities.

**What do you dislike about RideCo?**

I don't really have a negative. We came from such a challenge space and RideCo really helped us turn a corner. They simplified our processes with added AI-driven tools, centralized backend operations and gave us better control of our operation systems.

**What problems is RideCo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From an operations perspective, one month into this ADA paratransit service with RideCo, we were already seeing a 6% reduction in the number of vehicle hours. This means we’re seeing consolidation, a higher level of efficiency, and better use of shared rides, all thanks to the platform and its algorithm. Another key benefit is RideCo’s time snapping tool, which complements our fixed-route service. It helps minimize wait times by ensuring passengers are dropped off in sync with bus schedules, preventing long waits and improving accessibility. These efficiencies create a more convenient and reliable experience for riders while optimizing our resources.
