"Serious Security Flaw – $3,200 Stolen from My Account"
What do you like best about RentRedi?

I’ve used RentRedi for several years and, up until recently, had no complaints. The platform has been a convenient and reliable tool for managing my properties — I had no reason to question its security or functionality.

Unfortunately, after experiencing a serious incident where $3,200 in rent was stolen due to unauthorized access to my account, it's hard for me to think of anything positive to share at this time. The lack of alerts or safeguards around changes to banking information is alarming, especially for a platform handling financial transactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RentRedi?

I’ve been using RentRedi to manage my rental properties, but unfortunately, I recently experienced a serious issue where $3,200 was stolen due to unauthorized access to my account. Someone gained access, changed the banking information, and redirected a tenant’s rent payment. Despite promptly reporting the incident, I was told there was no breach of RentRedi’s or Stripe’s systems and that the activity happened through valid login credentials.

As a landlord who relies on this platform to manage sensitive financial transactions, I find this deeply concerning. Security measures should not just stop at deflecting responsibility—there should be proactive safeguards to alert users to suspicious changes, especially when bank account information is updated.

I’ve worked hard to establish trust with my tenants, and this breach has not only caused financial harm but has also compromised that trust. I hope RentRedi takes stronger action moving forward to protect its users. At the very least, landlords deserve better protection and transparency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

RentRedi has multiple security measures in place. On top of being compliant with the strictest industry standards, RentRedi encrypts all sensitive data

We offer Multi Factor Authentication, and its implementation predates this fraud incident. It is enabled by the customer. When sensitive payment account information is changed, we require the customer to verify this change.

Additionally, RentRedi has not experienced any data breaches. The unauthorized change made to your account was initiated by someone who had access to your email as a 6-digit verification code was used to confirm the change. Though we do all we can to protect your account, we cannot protect your email address and other external accounts. The bad actor was able to delete the safeguards that were sent to the email address on file because the breach was external.

What do you like best about RentRedi?

What do you dislike about RentRedi?

Support was horrible. They are not well trained, they do NOT call you back. I personally left 3 messages and never got the first phone call back. It has been over a month. They only want to refer you to self help articles, which for a paid for service, you would rather not spend all day reading a bunch of self help articles that are lack luster.

I also did not like that they FORCED you to sign up for their merchant account services. They get paid for this so that is why they FORCE you to do it. It is a bad business model when you are paying for services already.

I wanted to share my experience with the RentRedi platform, as I've encountered several issues that have impacted my satisfaction. Firstly, the platform lacks many essential features that would enhance usability.However, the most concerning aspect has been the unprofessionalism in their customer service. I have been trying to resolve an issue regarding a deposit from one of my rentals for the past three weeks. Despite providing them with a statement to show that I have not received the rent, they continue to hold the deposit due to their slow account verification process.In light of these challenges, I have found a more suitable platform that not only offers a greater range of features but also eliminates ACH fees. This new platform includes a built-in AI that generates compliant leases for each state and audits existing leases, which will significantly streamline my operations. What do you like best about RentRedi?

They refused me access because I already had a stripe account registered prior to using their platform. So there's nothing I like about the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RentRedi?

Terrible customer service and incompetent people working ontheir team. Their platform signs you up for a STRIPE account and they claim to have an “underwriting” department. However, if you have an existing STRIPE account they’ll cut you off and refuse to communicate instead of simply offering customer service and connecting your existing stripe account. This is incompetence at its finest. How do you run a tech startup and cannot figure out how to connect a STRIPE account to your users accounts and why would doing such be a “high risk?” They make absolutely no sense and have ZERO problem solving skills. It’s like a bunch of toddlers are running this app. If someone would just get on the phone to communicate like a regular functioning adult, things could be resolved. We do apologize for the frustration this situation caused, but your account was not blocked due to your existing Stripe account. RentRedi partners with Stripe for client verification and your account raised red flags in the Stripe verification system that could not be ignored.

As a security message, we can not disclose the exact reasoning behind the security risk. We refunded you the cost of your subscription and informed you of the decision by email and phone call.

What do you like best about RentRedi?

As a software engineer by trade, there are aspects of the UI / feature flexibility that I notice still need to mature. That being said, I've been using the product long enough to see continuous improvements, and I don't struggle to manage my properties, and support is very helpful. "A Good Property Management Program that needs some Work"
What do you like best about RentRedi?

Its easy to use.

Customer service is awesome. They are quick to answer and to make sure they fully answered or shown the user how to do it.

It's great to have the maintenance view that allows the renter to view also and to request service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RentRedi?

The Accounting portion requires a login and opens up in another view. Would be nice to stay in the same RentRedi program to access the accounting.

The document upload should automatically state that there is a maximum document size.

The Dashboard shoud allow the user to resize the different widget views (like Rent) and also minimize the widget views you don't use a lot like Prequalifications and Applications.

The View All Renters should allow the user to choose whether the option Show Balance Due continually display or not per the user instead of having to choose each time the window is opened.

The Maintenance tab should allow dated updates to current maintenance requests so tenants can see progress is being made on their request.

On the Maintenance Request window, the Status column shows Labor Cost and Material Cost. I can't tell if the Tenant can view this part or not so I am not using this since I don't want the tenant to see what I am spending. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
