**What do you like best about Pendo?**

As a user I like the User analytics which gives comprehensive analytics, User behaviour, which feature user have used most and relevant metrics. This helps us making business decisions to improve the user experience.
The Other thing which I liked is the Customizable dashboards to monitor and track important metrics of business.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

Nothing to dislike but customization options should be more like selecting multiple segments in single reports etc.
Also, need to include some Learning materials for new users.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Pendo is solving for us is User Engagement and Retention. We were facing lot of difficulties in getting user logged on to our tools. Pendo helps in tracking user behavior, understanding feature adoption helping us to make decisions to improve user experiences.

Ease of use with building guides and segementation to be able to get to the endusers you want to target. Pendo really helps you understand your customers current working experience in your applications and how you can create better experiences.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

I like how Pendo is very customizable. I'm able to come up with an idea on how to track customer behavior, and Pendo allows me to create flow or label a feature that tracks that behavior.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

The data governance is tough to onboard, which leads to messy data. It is on ourselves to clean up our data and prepare it for reporting. Maybe there could be a way for Pendo to assist with this.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pendo is helping us gather data and conduct analyses on actual user behavior inside our products. We are still in the beginning stages, but we recently had a Pendo workshop and have created a dedicated group to focus on product growth initiatives. I foresee Pendo becoming extremely useful for us in terms of adoption rates and true usage metrics.

Still a bit out of my depth with some of the tagging stuff (ex. don't use certain types of code as identifying tags)

We don't know how people are using our product. Now we can make actionable, data-driven decisions.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

Being able to see if there is activity on an account as an account manager. This justifies churn, usage and helps realize who the right person is to reach out to.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

There is only a limited amount of view to the email log in but it would be nice to see where they log in from or what service they currently use the log in for.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When accounts claim no usage on past due invoice this allows me to show exactly who was logging in and when they used it to justify invoices. This helps minimize churn.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

I like the simplicity with which all user actions are captured with limited impact on our development team.  The ability to generate reports, create user segments, and understand user workflows enables our Analytics team to make product decisinos easily.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

The User Interface is a bit inconsistent in places (like 3 different calendar tools.) And the complexity for querying is not the same in all places.  For example, when create a Segment, you can use AND/OR queries across multiple features, but not in the Data Explorer.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that Pendo helps us solve is understanding which features are being adopted so that we can make good decisions about promotion campains or feature retirement.  Additionally, when we're creating success metrics for new features, often our success criteria can be measured using one or more Pendo metrics.

Pendo gives me visibility into the log in patters for my customers. As a manager of the renewals team, this allows me to guage the health of customers before reaching out.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

Better export capability would be nice. I would love to share log in data with partners but the export functionality is weak.

Pendo gives me the ability to guage my customers' health.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

The click analytics with minimal engineering effort is great. When we have down time or an upcoming outage I am able to communicate with our customers useing the banners.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

I only have disliked that its "hard" to set up events. Also our pendo CSM was layed off and it took emails and pings to see who is now covering our account. I am personally your biggest advocate at Red Hat, without me saying renew our contract I think everyone would switch to amplitude. We have that running as well.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proactive messaging to my customers, tours to help them get started. Analytics for me and my team to evaluate how we are doing in our UIs. Also allows us to find spaces we should continue to invest in further.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

Pendo has a simple technical implementation and allows for page and feature tagging without the need for developers...if you have some knowledge of CSS Selectors. The click stream tracking is pretty amazing as much because it's so easy to get to as anything else.

Add to that their implementation of in app guides and a flexible resource center and it's a pretty killer solution. 

Last time I looked, you would need a bundle of competitive products to get the same feature set.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

Pendo is not cheap. You really have to pay for it.

Pendo has limited ad-hoc report building. It's better then it used to be, but certainly not where it could be.

Pendo for mobile is pretty terrible, but that's not their fault. Mobile isn't my area of expertise, but I'm not aware of a genuinely good mobile click stream tool.

Pendo keeps trying to expand into questionable areas. Most notably, they're trying to get into product roadmapping which feels like a pretty poor fit for their tool. Maybe there's some higher level company strategy where it fits, but as a user, I don't get it.

Titles of areas of not inuitive, quite often at the start you will find yourself struggling to find the certain area you would like however once you do get use to the titles the system is great

Pendo helps us track user journeys a lot easier as well as starting an NPS survey. Pendo also allows for easy to make but great looking custom notifications for End Users.

Easy to use and build surveys for in-app experiences. Its easy to look at scores and run the surveys straight in the tool

Only thing I wish was that there was more text analysis tools for text responses. My understanding is this is in the works, but it would be so great if there was a tool you could train data to segment survey respones.

Robust Product Features: Pendo provides a comprehensive suite of useful features for customer success management. Nothing in specific, i get what i need most of time.While Pendo integrates with popular platforms, expanding the integration options with additional third-party tools would provide more flexibility for customers. This would allow for seamless data flow and enhanced functionality within the broader tech stack.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

Pendo has completely transformed the way I view my customer's use of my product. As a product marketer, gaining deep insights about my customers is crucial for success, and Pendo has been instrumental in helping me achieve that.

Plus, it has provided us with a new channel for communication with our customers. We can now surface NPS and other surveys, promotions, invitations to educational masterclasses and other information into our product which helps improve our connection to customers and support our campaign goals.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

I wish that when creating reports or funnels that I could immediately turn that into a segment rather than needing to download to a CSV then re-upload.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pendo has given me a comprehensive understanding of how customers interact with my product. It has given me a granular level of visibility into their behaviors and helped me find connections between how a customer uses the product, and the positive benefits it has on their business. The power and usefulness of Pendo is unparalleled. I am able to collect sentiment and feedback data from highly targets groups of users while also being able to quickly deploy a system alert--all without the need of an engineer! Our ability to collect and respond to data his jumped by orders of magnitude, thanks to Pendo!

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

I am not a fan of the application overlay and how tempermental it can be in some applications. I often have to load and reload the page for the Pendo overlay to render in my application.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NPS, in-app communication, and the collection of feedback. Pendo is helping us understand how to better serve our three primary personas in our app: prospects, converts, and admis.

The product at a high-level is very easy to implement and get started.

When you begin to get move advanced with implementation and require support, they are very slow to respond. It would take days, sometimes weeks with multiple follow ups to get an answer. This limited our ability to fully use the product and eventually we cancelled.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

As someone with limited technical abilities, I love how easy it is to create in-product guides, surveys, NPS etc. Analytics are easy to access and read, and can be leveraged with segments and guides. Pendo support is also excellent.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

There are some limitations when creating guides which can be tricky unless you use a custom code block. I also occasionally run into issues with non-optimal displays, such as when a user has a VPN installed, so their browser disregards Pendo's display settings. It's not good to spam users!

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us to drive product adoption, leveraging our product for product assisted/led/growth, deep insights into how our users use our product, and what we can do to help them.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

It is very helpful in tracking which all features the user are using and makes it very easy to run the analytics. As we are an AI company, getting all the analytics capbility to know which features needs to be pushed up and which are doing well are very useful.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

Pendo don't have the capability to identify from the analytics the which are the feature which can be improved in order to increase the performance of the web app and recommend to push these features to the clients. Integration of Chat GPT to draw insights from the data collected, can be one thing that can be implemented.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting to know about the features which can become the selling point has significantly increased our sales and we gets to know which feactures can actually become the selling point while pitching to the client. Even mapping the customer journey has helped us to reduce the tickets significantly.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

Pendo has become an important tool for our product team. Its very user-friendy and has segmentation capabilities, event tracking, and integration options (fullstory) that have empowered our small product team to make data driven decisions. This has helped us enhance our user experiences and in turn has reduced churn rate and increased stickiness rate for our platform. We use the fullstory links, the guides, and the resource center in addition to all of the usage tools available. It has been essential in creating our user engagement strategies.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

We've had some challenges when trying to update the homepage widgets with different timeframes. The process is not as intuitive as I would like it to be. It often requires more effort than necessary. Normally I could use the query builder, however the stickiness metric widget for example is not easy to create your own query for. Allowing time frame adjustments for the widgets or having a button that brings you to the query builder with the query pre-populated would enhance the overall user experience.

Another issue we've encountered relates to the query builder. After a recent redesign, the query builder has become less user-friendly. It used to be more intuitive and straightforward, but the new layout and features have made it somewhat confusing for our team.

Lastly, we've come across inconsistency in fullstory links for user sessions. While some user sessions have fullstory links, others do not, and there doesn't seem to be a clear explanation within the platform for this discrepancy. It would be useful to have this info in the knowledge base or in some sort of info icon as to why some sessions have it and some don't. We've also reached out to our customer service rep and weren't able to get a clear explanation.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pendo helps us understand our users' needs and preferences, allowing us to make informed product decisions and prioritize feature development effectively. It also helps us proactively reduce churn by understanding the usage patterns by high, medium and low frequency users.

Secondly, Pendo's segmentation capabilities have been exteremely helpful in tailoring our product offerings to specific user groups (mid market vs enterprise). This adjustment has led to increased user satisfaction and improved user adoption of key features.

The ease of implementation with a simple code snippet.  There's immediate value upon turning it and your team can continue to get more sophisticated as you learn all of the capabilities.

Pendo is expensive but it is the best product in its class.

The in-application guides greatly impacts our case deflection and reduce support cases.
The feedback tool gives us a transparent mechanism to communicate with customers about feature requests and it objectively influences our product roadmap.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

Ease of use, ability to quickly launch comms to our users without requiring dev work, flexibility (custom code options, multiple ways to set up a guide), analytics, and breadth of content availble on the help center. Pendo also has excellent and timely customer support.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

This is not a dislike about Pendo itself, but the only downside of our experience so far has been a lack of bandwidth internally to get the full use out of Pendo we know is possible. Because it's such a substantial and powerful tool, it's a lot for a small team to take on and can take a while to feel like you're getting deeper into the product.

**What problems is Pendo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pendo recently paid for itself because we recovered subscriptions from delinquent accounts using Pendo notifications. Pendo has also been a great tool for user research, enabling our product teams to quickly get research requests and surveys in front of users and seems to get much better responses compared to email. Pendo has also saved the day a few times when a product team encountered a problem or delay with something they planned to custom build, and we were able to get the same information to users via Pendo guides instead.

**What do you like best about Pendo?**

Honetly, it's reputation as a tool to get certain things done. Aviods a lot of wheel spinning trying to pick something and instead just "get to work".  Early stage software is hard, you can't always get everything in the product, for various reasons, and Pendo is a more than adaquete solve. In short, from alerting to new features, to training on lesser known ones, calling out user experience hightlights (or fixing shortcomings) ... it's a quick, easy, well-understood part of our process.

As we march into product market fit, many different groups are using pendo for various reasons. The shortcoming is that it's sometimes hard to see it from a users eyes. Through in feature flags, a/b tests, etc ... the edge cases become bigger issues without careful oversight. I feel the tool could do a better job of alerting implementers when a user is potentially going to see "too many" pendo dialogues.

Onboarding is a bigger use case as well as training on new (or lesser-known) features. To a certain degree, it's been good for smoke tests and validating product ideas.

I believe, the cost of the SaaS model is on bit higher side for young startups, but the software fulfills the price tag. I would mark it as an luxury but not a necessity when you are a young startup.

The tool is simple to use and set up and support and education have been great as well. It's very convenient to have the click tracking data connected to the in-app messaging piece. As Pendo continues to add functionality like session replay, being able to tie this to the click path and page data will really strengthen their product offering.

**What do you dislike about Pendo?**

Target Market
If your organization is planning to use Pendo's out of the box reporting, you're in good hands because Pendo has been investing consistently in improving their reporting. Pendo is very focused on their core midsize customer base. This often appears to be at the expense of their enterprise customers. For instance, we've been asking for years to be able to publish in-app messages or get user segmentation data via their API without success. If you're enterprise and rely more on an external BI tool, be aware that these types of improvements occur less frequently, if at all.

Interstitial Designer Tool
Pendo's designer tool is also not the most intuitively organized or user fiendly, but the learning curve isn't very high so this isn't a massive consideration in my opinion.

Product Improvements
It shouldn't come as a huge surprise, but many of the really impactful features Pendo has begun offering are contractual add-ons, which is a departure from enhancements we've seen in the past to their core "Engage" product, which has been disappointmenting.

Valuable from day one-- simply having visibility into your customer base is helpful regardless of the product or organizational maturity. I love that there are "canned fancy metrics" that are both insightful for my team and impressive to my stakeholders.

I dislike having to launch the designer when I just need to edit a small piece of text within a guide. Also, because my products are weird I would rather filter by account instead of segment (I just don't want to make a segment for each account).

As my company is EXTREMELY project-oriented, this is helping me get out of the build trap. Instead of focusing on communicating updates, I can communicate about the impact of the updates. Plus my stakeholders like fancy charts so the built-in widgets are amazing.

Data-out. I know Pendo wants to do everything within Pendo, but that's not entirely reasonable. Easier data-out would make this platform 10X better. 

Governance.The two companies I have used Pendo at have the same issue: how do we put bounds on guide deployment? How do we make research more seamless and standardized?

Pendo would od well to focus on these non-obvious 'features' because they matter a ton to corporations.

I havnt found another tool that can do this and saves me development costs integreting my own notifications, feedback polls, etc. The abilitity to set conditions and segment who and when they are seen is great. The fact that no code is required for guides is amazing.

The cost of Pendo being per application can be difficult to justify. Particularly when a company is constantly making new apps.

The user analytics and data insights produced by Pendo allow us to show leadership the success of applications.
Pendo saves hugely on development time and has a far smoother integrations with applications then competitors, it requires very little technical knowledge to use it.
The user behavior analysis allows us to figure out where to improve the app paired with the feedback guides, we know what to work on to improve/grow our apps.

Pendo is simple to learn and use. The best feature is that it collects page data before you tag a specific page.

When I'm looking to do deeper analysis on a page/funel it feels like theres data that Pendo is "hiding" from me. 

For example, funels allow you to set a timeout when analyzing by total attemps but not by unique visitors. Since I'm unable to filter pendo data in a way that aligns with the metrics our company actually cares about this makes Pendo significantly less useful to me.

It's hard to choose just one, the Pendo platform is extremly user friendly, and fun to work with. I enjoy the user interface, as well as find it's features intuitive and easy to use. I also love that our office is neighbors to Pendo's raleigh office, and we've been invited to visit on many occasions to work with our amazing TAM :)

Not so much a dislike as a suggestion for improvement; as a data analyst, I would love to see some deeper analytics capabilities. I would love to be able to have a bit more freedom to query the data, and even create visualizations much like Power BI or Tableau reporting.

Our onboarding was patchy and not very informative. Our onboarder appeared to lack knowledge and we spent some of our professional services sessions waiting for them to work out the issue which sometimes wasn't possible.
The app can be buggy, particularly when the designer launches (or doesn't...) which is frustrating.
The interface could be better to enable easier navigation and a wider overview when looking at guides.
More seamless/better functionality when applying custom segmentation filters.
