I'm a novelist, and I learned about PayPal Invoicing when my editor told me she was going to send me an invoice for services via PayPal. I got the first email invoice and found it easy to pay her. Since then, I've sold signed books to fans via the app. In fact, recently, I sent an email to my newsletter subscribers offering them signed copies, and letting them know if they were interested, to let me know and I'd send them an invoice via PayPal. The invoice template is robust enough to allow us to add the many line items we bill to our teaching partners. Still, it s simple enough, on both the administrative and recipient end, that the form is easy to navigate and understand. **What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?** When creating an invoice, the system can sometimes glitch when adding a line item to a new invoice or existing template. Often, an additional blank line item is automatically added to the end of the invoice and needs to be deleted. Our most frequently used invoice template has many line items listed. Previously, some line items could be left blank, but now all line items need to have a charge in order for an invoice to be saved or sent, which means that we have to delete certain line items, some of which need to be added again later if changes are made. It also has many features such as the ability to add a date of service for each line item on the invoice, to add either item discounts or an invoice discount, and to add notes for invoice items. **What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?** The interface is extremely clunky since their last update; there are a number of bugs that make creating and editing invoices a real pain, mostly surrounding the dates of service. Sometimes you may put in information only to have the website tell you that it is incorrect or insufficient. The only way to get past this is to refresh the page, thereby losing all of the work you just did, and start over.
