It is nice to no longer have to send an encrypted document, and then send the password for that document in a separate email. All email through the system, both outgoing and incoming, are encrypted/decrypted automatically. This is a really big time saver. And since this is all done behind the scenes, there is no training of staff. All we had to do was to let them know once the product launched, and to expect a Paubox tagline at the bottom of the emails that they are sending. **What do you dislike about Paubox?** There is nothing to dislike, the product provides a higher level of email security at all times, not only when someone is sending protected information electronically. **What problems is Paubox solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past there were times when community partners have had issues opening encrypted documents from our organization. Most of the time they had to complete additional steps to decrypt the message. With Paubox, the platform is compatible with most modern email servers, so this takes away the issues that our partners had in the past. They have been frustrating for staff and even more problematic for the recipients. With Paubox our staff do not have to do anything to encrypt our outbound emails and 99.9% of the recipients simply open the email as they would any non-encrypted email. The standard offer was perfect for us and included up to 10 users which made it very affordable for us. **What problems is Paubox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Although we have secure business emails, Paubox ensures that emails are also secure while in transit back and forth. In the health field, protecting information on emails is crucial and other email suites we viewed require you to log in or else you won't be able to see the emails. No extra steps to use encrypted communication. I have also been able to use it with Mozilla to make the email process almost seamless **What do you dislike about Paubox?** The only problem I have encountered is some individuals' email accounts do not recognize the encryption, and the person has to take an extra step on their end to retrieve the message. Even with this issue, the central part remains, the email is encrypted. **Recommendations to others considering Paubox:** The staff at Paubox and the ease of setup is unlike any other suite I have tried. Having a seamless system and a support staff is fantastic. Blows Virtru out of the water on everything from price to ease of setup and use to customer experience and support. It's a no brainer. Email shouldn't require you to click links and sign in to random tools or use one time codes to achieve HIPAA-compliance. This solution is HITRUST certified, which makes our Compliance Officer very happy. :) We get a weekly report to show us how many emails are being processed through the system and quick insight into any issues. **What do you dislike about Paubox?** The dashboard and reporting are very basic, but that could be because we only purchased the Encryption piece. Things might be different with the other modules installed. To be honest, there isn't much that I would change about this system. It is simple, and works well. **What problems is Paubox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Paubox we were using a Barracuda SPAM Firewall for outbound encryption. The Barracuda had some built-in logic to find PHI in emails, but it was never very successful. To address this, we set up keywords to trigger the encryption process. Unfortunately, this workaround meant the end-user needed to remember to type in the keyword. When the recipient would get the email, they had to log into a portal to retrieve the communication. If they replied, the response would be in a portal that we would have to log into to retrieve. This kept the encrypted messages out of our email system which then made it difficult to find/reference later on. Inbound emails through the Barracuda portal also never made it to our Email archiving system. With Paubox, we have been able to get our email encryption compliance to 100% with very minimal IT effort and no effort at all from the end-users. Using this system has eliminated many man-hours of looking through email logs to see if users were encrypting messages with PHI. Not having to dig through logs has made our weekly Compliance Meetings much more productive. ### 26. Oh and a bonus not found with any other product I researched...there are easy to reach real humans to help if needed for anything related to your email! **What do you dislike about Paubox?** The footer inserted when an email is secured and encryption is verified continues to be created multiple times when an email goes back and forth. While I understand it is encrypting each email each way, I wish it would see the footer already exists and not post it again. It is only a small single line and they all end up at the very bottom of the email trail so not a big deal but there's nothing else I dislike :-). **What problems is Paubox solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a healthcare consulting firm, we use email to exchange reports or data containing patient PHI and sensitive financial information on a regular basis. Prior to this our only options were to be added to each client's email system (so we would have to manage several email boxes), or use the external method where senders and receivers have to log into a separate application (and we need log ins for each client).
