Also, Inventory managers no longer need accounting or billing access rights to do their job. Odoo's double-entry inventory has no stock input, output, or transformation, either. Instead, all operations are stock moves between locations. It’s as easy as it gets! The simple interface helped me train the team quickly and reduce human errors during data entry. The integration between inventory, accounting, and sales enabled me to monitor the cost of goods sold with real-time accuracy, and it became very easy to make automatic accounting entries as soon as a sales order is confirmed or inventory is received, which made account reconciliation at the end of the month smooth. All of our products in the Odoo system were built from raw materials for inventory and ordering/tracking purposes. Everything became more manageable after that, but took some work to get there. It also has a lot of features to make it easy to use no matter what your application. I especially like how you can automate connections with manufacturing and purchasing. It also has an iPad app with a very clean interface. It is easy to train employees using this app and a barcode scanner. Shipping and receiving has become a lot easier. **What do you dislike about Odoo Inventory?** While the overall interface is very easy to use, sometimes it is difficult to workaround some issues. For example I wanted to make an automation to manufacture products in certain batch sizes, and it took a fair bit of work to make it happen. It may take a bit of a workaround to function perfectly for some situations. But the tools available for creating different automations are extremely robust, and I'm confident they could work for most any business. Automatically removing products from inventory when they are either shipped or used for manufacturing other products saves a lot of time. If you don't initiate or change transactions (like receipts, picks, etc) from the original document you can create issues in the system. Example - if you change a qty on an SO you need to ensure that the order has not been shipped (the system will let you do it). It can be picked, but the system will create a second pick for the order. Issue is that it lets you change an order that has been shipped. (it is not easy, put possible, and when it is possible users will figure it out). There are other examples - such as returns need to be initiated from the shipment not the order. As long as you can get users to understand that Odoo functions on movement between locations (routes) and transactions are created by source documents (SO, PO), you will be successful. It is an easy system to learn. **Recommendations to others considering Odoo Inventory:** Don't try to bring baggage from previous system with you. Use a 3rd party that has support within 1-2 time zones. Its also pretty easy to set up a devolution or to return a shipment, you can always trace the movements of a determined SKU, or transfer order. Reports is a great feature, I´ll add some more mini-features on it, but technically you can watch any info needed by playing with the filters, views and parameters ### 39. For example, it does not support QR type barcodes. The barcodes are of type CODE 39. I find the software very intuitive, easy to use and customize, and an excellent value for what it offers. We are using it for our product business right now, which is partially subcontracted and has consigned parts as well. Odoo allows us to navigate costs of contract manufacturing and parts, BOM's that are very flexible, and still track and have visibility to consigned parts that are physically located at another site. The system is great at alerting users to tasks needed for completion and users find it super helpful compared to our previous more manual processes. **What do you dislike about Odoo Inventory?** At this point, I do not have much to say on the negative side. We've had some wrong numbers because of that.
